I’m a sucker for a single parent romance and this one was so cute! I really loved Evie. Her internal dialogue was hilarious. The chemistry between her and Luke was amazing too. Cute read!

When Evie lost her husband the rest of the Connor Clan of Portland Oregon rallied around her as part of looking after one of their own. On her own still 10 years later, she has continued to provide for herself and her daughter. Luke is on the run from someone bad in order to protect his sister. He always intended to move from place to place and not get attached to anyone nor anything. However, when he meets Evie and her daughter Matilda, both sides appear to have woven their way into each other's hearts. However when the past catches up with him all could be lost - can he save his sister and Evie before its too late?
This was a sweet love story which definitely tugs at the heartstrings as the story developed. I loved the detail around the characters in this story and the way that their interaction changed as it was progressing. It was full of drama and danger that definitely got under your skin and made me start to read faster just to know what happened next. Well written and a very enjoyable read.

The love Evie has for her daughter Matilda shows throughout this story, even when Luke enters all buff and ready to help a ‘damsel in distress' on the side of the road. Author Maggy Mundy has a nice way of developing her characters, along with the story she tells of each one. I really enjoyed that Matilda was a strong, sassy ten year old who kept everyone on their toes.

I loved Luke...and Evie. Short stuff was my second favorite character, she has such spunk and fire. I loved these characters and thier bumpy, twisted path that gets them to happily everafter. I can't wait to visit the Connor clan again.

Dangerous oh my!
This book had me on the edge of my seat, couldn't put it down. Great story and wonderful characters. I am onto the next book. Luke and Evie go through hell and back before they get their happy ending.

Good read!
Luke and Evie have a sweet love story that takes you through lots of twists and turns.
Lots of mystery and intrigue to being with and a good foundation for all the characters of the little town.

The Connor clan is a close family and they take care of each other. After Evie's husband dies, they all help her cope. The years go by and Evie does not see love in her future again until Luke. Luke brings his own drama, but once Evie falls in love, her family is on t g sir side. Luke's past causes harm to both Evie, her daughter and Luke, but ultimately it works out and Evie, Matilda, and Luke are together. Great ending.
