Educating Eve

Rate this book
Nineteen-year-old soccer star, Manny Jones, is world famous. Her purple hair and unapologetic approach to her sexuality has been the talk of the Women’s World Cup. A magical player who seemingly has it all, until one horror tackle changes everything. Going from hero to zero, Manny’s career comes to a grinding halt. Wanting to hide away from the humiliation, she returns to school to focus on her studies in the hope she can one day have another life. Twenty-three-year-old PE teacher, Eve Eden, isn’t a fan of soccer, she prefers hockey. She’s not starstruck like everyone else at Ridgecrest Academy, which makes her the perfect tutor for Manny. They couldn’t be more different, but a spark between them quickly turns into a flame. Can the two women teach each other the lessons they both need to learn before their explosive affair is exposed? With a cast of fun characters, Anna Archer, delivers a delectable lesbian romance that’s enchantingly naughty yet nice.

Really enjoyed - I think it's her first novel and very much one to watch. Loved the story line and the characters are well drawn. Perhaps I should start a "Mother from hell" shelf!

Cute and hot and adorable 😍

“Her name.” Bonnie gasped. “Oh for the love of god please tell me you know what her name means?”
“Manzana?”
Bonnie nodded. “Spanish for apple.”
Eve fell silent.
“She’s your temptation, Eve. Of course you were going to take that bite.”

🔥😉

I guess the difference between harrassment and banter is interest. Compare David and Manny - why does one feel like a predator more than the other? Because Eve was interested in Manny - that's whats different.

This book is just hilarious, its a comedy. It got me laughing from beginning to end. It is also a romance - typical student chasing teacher story. But I like the fact that Eve took the risk to be with Manny despite everything. I really like it, because I just believe that sometimes, just sometimes, some people are worth taking risks for.

Better than average romance, Manny is a star footballer for England who has injured herself in the
World Cup final in fouling an opponent and invited the wrath of England, but she is only 19 and already has ended her career. In returning to school to finish her education, Eve takes her under her wing and in unimpressed with her fame or infamy as it may be. Nice journey for them to finally get together.

Plot: The book starts with Manny going back to high school after sustaining a possibly career ending injury. She is instantly interested in her teacher Eve. Eve is tightly wound. She fears ever breaking the rules and holds everyone at arms length so nobody really knows her.

Manny is rather obnoxious during class and makes her attraction known. Eve is mad that Manny is making a spectacle and drawing attention to their chemistry. Later Manny happens to be in the right place at the right time in order to save Eve from a creep.

The creep tries to slander Manny and Eve to sooth is own bruised ego. After a brief time jump Manny and Eve finally feel safe enough to spend time together. They start dating immediately. They decide to go all in on their relationship and live HEA.

Characterization: Manny is obnoxious but not malicious.

Eve starts the book as a tightly wound pushover. When she decides to give into Manny she has a major character shift and starts doing things just for fun without worrying.

Writing: This was written in third person perspective. This book was choppy, the characters weren’t consistent and the story didn’t flow at all. There isn’t any chemistry between the main characters either.

Read to about p90 and had to quit. One main character was extremely sexually aggressive ("banter"), and I tried and tried to ignore it, gloss it over, maybe it would stop and it didn't.

Having said that, the writing *was* good, and I would try out another by this author (in Kindle Unlimited, like this one, fortunately), and hope it's not like this one.

Living is about more then plating it safe.

Manny makes the most uncalulated risk at the end of the World Cup and it is an epic fail. She hides away at her old school thinking she can just refocus. The haters, media and mean fans make everything awful until she meets Eve. Eve is her new teacher and they have an instant connection so real it is hard to ignore. Eve has never taken risks, she has played by all the rules. Manny helps her find herself and she helps Manny remember who she is. This is such a fun, romantic and even quirky love story. The other characters provide twists that have you laughing. These two women unable to let what they feel go find the most hilarious way to be together. I enjoyed the banter, there long talks and the delicious way they connected. This an easy, fun and brilliantly told story. I loved it.

WOW Great Story

Manny and Eves story was exciting and highly enjoyable. Full of quips and wonderful tension from the beginning till the end of school. Once Manny and Eve started having a sexual affair life became more down to earth for both of the even though there was still the thrill of discovery, and drama and newness, there was a fulfillment experienced by both that had been lacking in there life before they had found each other. What a wonderful inspiring and warm story. A real outstanding read.

Technically this is as a student-teacher relationship. However the school setting is primarily a mechanism for bringing women from two different worlds together. Each of the main characters has a few things to work out if their relationship is to develop. The couple does eventually achieve there HEA, but the story arc is reminiscent of the Keystone Kops.

This book is one long, witty, sexy exclamation!

It's a very creative novel. The premise is outrageous but completely and cleverly developed. From start to finish the reader feels like they're on a crazy amusement park ride. The dialogues are wildly funny but somehow seem realistic. You will fall in love with the injured lesbian soccer player and her rather inhibited teacher.

I struggled a bit in the beginning but in the end, there is nothing else to say than it was a lovely book and I enjoyed it greatly. It had everything I want. MC’s you must love eventually, unpredictable plot and awesome side characters, too. Definitely recommend it.And if you like football/soccer at least a bit, it is a must-read.

A mistake made in the field sends the player back to school!

A footballer undercuts the opposing player and sends both of them to the hospital. Deliberate or not the offending player goes into hiding back to school. Meeting her new teacher creates another headache where students do not date teachers or do they? Read and enjoy!

Just full of shenanigans, this story about soccer star, Manny, and teacher, Eve, had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed that it took place in England with all the language we don't use in the US. And with all the "stuff" they got away with, this very well could be a Lifetime movie! So, if you want an amusement park ride in a story, then this is the book for you!

I enjoyed the banter of this book - but the reason I gave it 4 stars is that the relationship felt rushed once it finally happened. I would have preferred a couple more chapters of the dates instead of one chapter and then a flash forward to weeks later.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and found myself laughing out loud more than once.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND, SOMETIMES, AROUSING!!!

This story by Anna is a complete and fascinating story of two women totally in love with each other! It took them awhile to discover the attraction they had for each other but it became totally apparent in the end!

This story is definitely a 'BEST' read. Get it TODAY!!!

it’s A Goal

Manny Jones is the most recognized soccer player in the country and the most hated as she’s blamed for losing the World Cup because of a foul. Returning to school to get her A-levels, she meets Eve Eden, her PE teacher. An immediate attraction sparks and they begin a clandestine friendship. A great story.

Loved the romance

Great story and characters. I loved how Eve and Manny both grew as women and found a more balanced life with each other. I loved watching the flirtations turn into sparks and ultimately love.

Decent lesbian romance. I love the interaction between the characters; very funny. I wish we had some more character development though. It started out at a good pace but about half-way through the author speeds up their story for what feels like a rushed and slightly unfinished ending.

Sweet if predictable story

Loved the women’s soccer backdrop. Started off slowly and built into a fun sweet story. Of course there is a HEA but the characters are well developed and it’s just a fun read.

A good read, very interesting and just not a hard sexist book again. It seemed like a real love story.

There were only five stars, if there were six, I would have rated it six. I thought the book was well written, and an easy read.

Not too serious, but fun. No contrived blow up or outside interference in the middle to generate quasi-uncertainty, so I appreciated that. The ending seemed a bit rushed, but not a big deal.
