Whoever said "Revenge is sweet" is a g*ddamned liar.

There's nothing "sweet" about the vengeance I want against Sophia Somerset.

Because when this quick-tongued waitress with more curves than the real estate market makes off with my most prized possession—and the only item saving my company from collapse, payback is the only goal I have planned…at first.

My only saving grace?

The note she left behind. And my proof.

Problem is: I can’t stop thinking about the adorably haphazard thief.

Taking my revenge against Sophia may not be sweet. But it sure is sexy.

If only I can save my company—and my traitorous heart—before it’s too late…

AUTHOR'S NOTE: THE KISS is a full-length, stand alone, enemies to lovers romance with suspense, humor, heat and tons of revenge. Enjoy!

I've enjoyed The Note so much,it was brilliant, engaging, intriguing and suspenseful.

Sophia and Noah meet in a bar, they drink a lot of tequila and they go home together but the morning after their lives become more intertwined than they expected.
They couldn't be more different, they grew up in different upbringings with the result that he is a beautiful prince and she is a broke weitress, but both of them have secrets they don't want to reveal.
The sexual tension between them is present throughout the book but for the rough time our main characters are having they try to non act on it.
Will they have their happily everafter?Or their lives are too doomed to find an alternative to their past choises?

This is the right example of Natalie Wrye skills that don't let the reader hate the bad "guy",little bear, oh come on you'll understand what I mean when you read this book.
I highly recommend it if you like a good suspense romance.

When Noah's one night stand walks out the door with something of supreme value to him, leaving behind only a note, he vows he'll find her. Vows revenge. But as things tend to, that doesn't exactly happen. Oh, he finds her again, but their attraction flares even hotter, and perhaps revenge takes second place to other things.

This is such a great story! Suspenseful, intriguing and full of secrets and tons of passion and chemistry between Noah and Sophia. I would love it if there were going to be a second installment of their life together.

Little Bear

A retelling of the fairy tale Goldilocks in an intriguing, suspenseful read in Natalie Wrye’s magnificent way! Fabulous main characters and a superb storyline that keeps you gripped to the very end! Lots of intrigue, extortion and murder! A well deserved 5 star ⭐️ read that I can only but highly recommend!
Noah now back in Manhattan after a long stay in Australia. Now looking for his grandfathers’ watch! He needs it to save the family company. Sophia is picked up in a bar she works in The Alchemist by Noah and he takes her home with him in a drunken stupor! The note is written by her the next morning! Noah doesn’t believe in love or marriage, but he will forget the incident, If she becomes his fake girlfriend also to find out where the watch is! Who is Noah’s real secret father? Twists and turns everywhere in this great read! Drew, Sophia’s next door neighbour had me in fits of laughter throughout, Natalie Wrye certainly knows how to make you laugh out loud, with so much intrigue and suspense, light heartedness is always appreciated by her readers too! Will Sophia’s fairy tale come true? Who is Ainsley, Noah’s supposed fiancée?

Noah has returned to NYC to save his family business. No one knows how bad things are and Noah wants to keep it that way. He has a limited time to come up with something. He meets Sophia at the bar she works. A couple of drunks are giving her a hard time. They connect and he takes her back to his place. She finds herself in a desperate situation and takes something that isn’t hers: The one thing that can save his company. She leaves a note and that is the beginning of the dance between Noah and Sophia. Blackmail, secrets, sexual tension twists and turns. This is a page turner that will keep you interested. Great characters and an interesting plot. The last note scene is classic. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next adventure with this series.

Noah is back in town on a mission to save his business, but he wasn’t expecting that spending a steamy evening with a sexy waitress would be his downfall. Sophia may not have had ulterior motives when she spent the night with Noah, but desperate times call for desperate measures and it becomes an opportunity too good to resist, besides surely her note is apology enough.

Noah is determined to track down his elusive one night stand but when he finds her he decides it would be much more beneficial to have her join his quest than to get the revenge he originally wanted. Let the fun begin!

Full of intrigue, twists, heat and witty banter this couple will take you on a wild ride.

Sophia and Noah meet and have this instant connection until Sophia's life problems causes her to do something she feels guilty about.
So guilty, she leaves an apology note behind.

This was a fun read that is linked with the authors other Manhattan Nights books but stands completely on its own. However, it's still fun to see how Natalie Wrye connects the characters to each other.

The Note is full of mysteries and secrets that unfold throughout the story. If you like contemporary romance that is filled with heat, seduction, fun side characters then this is for you!

The Note is the fifth standalone in the Manhattan Nights series by the talented, Natalie Wrye. I have read all of her books and they just keep getting better and better. Each book in the Manhattan Nights series is about a different couple but they are all tied together through family, friends, and business so I do recommend reading the series. If you read The Kiss then you have met Sophia, Kayla’s roommate.

It all started with tequila and scotch. Sophia and Noah are strangers who are both having a rough night and get to chatting over some drinks. One thing leads to another and they end up at Noah’s place which was supposed to turn into a one-night stand but fate or tequila had other ideas. Noah didn’t end up with a happy ending but he did end up with a note from the woman who intrigued him. He didn’t even know her name but he had to find her. His company was on the line.

Sophia had no idea that making one mistake would change her life forever. Now, she was in a twisted game of cat and mouse with a man in a three piece suit. She hated men like him but he seemed so different and now, he was just like them all. Greedy. She couldn’t blame him for being upset with her. She did this to herself. Giving into temptation when she should have just walked away. Only her body still wanted to pull him. He might have been drunk but she saw his softer side. He wasn’t just a big bad wolf. Or was he?

Noah and Sophia’s relationship is full of twists, turns, sexy times, and playful banter. They have to work together in the streets of New York, Manhattan and the Bronx. They have a common goal but for different reasons. He wants to save his family’s company and she doesn’t want to see a jail cell. Will they find what they are looking for? Will they find more than they bargained for?

Overall...it’s another suspenseful read from Natalie. She definitely likes to add some twists and cameos into the mix. I thought Sophia was a badass and Noah was a sheep in wolf’s clothing. They have some obstacles that’s for sure and I can’t wait to find out more in The Lie!

Quotes:

Looks like you were always more Goldilocks than the Little Bear.”

It’s a city that’s toughened me in unimaginable ways, pieced together the beautiful mess that I am.

“I have to be honest: It looks like, to me, that we’re not auditioning for that ‘When Harry Met Sally’ remake after all.”

Secrets,
Lies,
Lust,
Love

The Note has it all! Sophia is a badass in her own right, but she’s also the girls from the wrong side of the tracks that meets The Big bad Wolfe from the right side of the tracks. Little Bear took something from the Wolfe and he wants it back and he will stop at nothing until he does because what Noah Quinn wants Noah Quinn gets no exceptions!

The Note is amazing from start to end and it leaves you wanting more and I know I do because Drew and Nanc are Next!

The Note was a great story, with a story line which is an original take from Goldilocks & the Three Bears. We have the hero, Nate, who has come back from Australia to NYC, looking for his grandfather's watch, which is the one thing which will save his company. He picks up our heroine, Sophia aka Little Bear, in a bar, and they spend the night together, but the next morning, he wakes up to a note (an IOU) from her. She's big in his quest to find that watch, and let me tell you, the twists & turns take over at this point. Like I mean the twists were all the hell turned out, while the turns were all kinds of twisted up, so I ended up devouring this story on the edge of my seat the rest of the way, while dropping a big amount of loud f-bombs. And while these two were definitely front & center, there's a secondary named Drew, who did their best to steal the show, as they kept me laughing a crap ton. So we have hotness, suspense for days, well placed humor, and characters to imprint on. So, how does it all pan out?! You'll have to one click on The Note to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Australian businessman Noah Quinn really didn’t get what he expected at all when he hooked up with feisty waitress Sophia Somerset following an evening of flirty banter. Not only did she pass out before the deed was done, her hangover the following morning didn’t stop her from making off with something far more valuable than she could have imagined.

Not everything is as it seems in this intriguing suspense and, in true Natalie Wrye style, the twists and turns will keep you on your toes. There’s lots of action, humor and heat, not to mention lies and deceit, which have the sparks flying. This author is certainly a talented writer but there are a lot of characters at play here and on occasion I admit I did get a little lost trying to keep up with them and the complexity of the plot. Nevertheless, an engaging storyline, appealing lead characters, together with humorous moments and a sweet, yet mysterious, ending made The Note an enjoyable read.

Sophia who is affectionately known as Little bear, meets Noah one night whilst she is working. They quickly become acquainted over tequila and scotch.

One thing leads to another & Sophia goes home with Noah, but the night doesn’t go how either of them planned. When morning rolls round & Sophia finds herself alone, she accidentally finds something that Noah desperately needs.

Instead of discovering Sophia in his bed, he finds a note, one that holds an IOU on it, and a feeling of dread that Sophia has found the one thing that can save his company.

The Note is a story of revenge, blackmail, lies and deceit. Throw in falling for the one person who you can’t trust and you have quite an enjoyable story.

The story of Sophia and Noah takes us through some twists and turns. It keeps us on the edge of our seat for sure. I like Noah. He is hardened. He is spiraling out of control and has been for a while. But to see him realize that and grow and strengthen is to find happiness. Sophia is strong yet soft. She is fierce but still afraid of so much. She is a hard worker and does not let anything stand in her way when she really makes her mind up. The characters are fun and realistic and enjoyable. I love the family. The brothers are fun together and their dialogue can be funny but I admit that the beginning dialogue between two of the brothers did put me off, just a little.

The Note was a well-paced and sexy read I really enjoyed. Natalie Wrye puts her on special twist on the classic (and a favorite of mine) Enemies-to-Lovers trope and it worked so well. Not only do we get the delicious sexual tension between the MCs that the trope usually conjures, but we also have an intriguing storyline, plenty of drama, deceit, and touches of suspense that make this a book you won’t want to put down. Not to mention Noah is as sexy and swoony as book boyfriends can be. He had me at ‘hello’ even if he was a tad drunk.

Twisty, intriguing, and suspenseful, The Note by Natalie Wrye is one great ride you won’t want to miss. 4 stars.

This is the fifth standalone in the Manhattan Nights series. You don't have to read the other books, but I recommend it.
This is an enemy-to-lovers/fake girlfriend story with a pinch of revenge and blackmailing packed in a beautiful love story.

Noah and Sophia are attracted to each other but can't stand each other to the same extent - at first. After a short night of attraction and sparks they notice, that they have nothing in common. But they are bound to each other by their secrets and and actions.

Their story developes slowly and is unexpected. Sparks are flying and I was rooting for them because they both deserved a HEA. Very well done!

Another intriguing, edge of your seat romantic suspense from one of my favorites! Sophia and Noah's chemistry burns up the pages from the getgo. The Note is a standalone as with the other books in this series, but I suggest reading the books in order because you will definitely find a connection among them. As with all of her books, the characters are well developed and the plot is well thought out and moves quickly. Twists, turns, mystery, intrigue, sexy times -- it's all in there! Another 5+ star read!

I didn't find any chemistry.

I finding this sequel to be dull in most ways. A lot of talking, thinking and less action. Most of the Heroines are just unexpectedly annoying, argumentative to things that makes no sense, and the secrets they all hold ends up being nothing shocking. 60% of the stories is just back and forth indecisive thoughts and when it approaches the end it's rushed, the main characters suddenly are helplessly in love blah blah blah.

I just want to find one in the sequel that will make it worth my time to actually have read the sequel.

I've read numerous stories written by Natalie Wrye, and really enjoyed them, but The Note was just an okay read for me. I liked the pace, and the twists and turns kept me guessing, however I did have a hard time connecting with the characters. Something was missing between them. As we all know some stories that authors write, we're gonna love, and some not so much, and that's alright, cause if the author writes the same thing over, you'll lose interest in her books.

This story is a revenge/fake girlfriend/dramatic romance with a slight Goldilocks fairy tale flair. This book seriously has so much going on with it that you can't easily describe it, you just have to read it to fully appreciate it. A bit of suspense and intrigue this enemies to lovers read is both humorous and sexy. A first read fro me by this author but it totally hit the spot. A must add to your TBR list.

What a great story!!! Noah is in a bit of a predicament and if he can't find the one thing that could save his family company then he is all out of luck! So what has a man to do when he suspects his one night stand?!
This story Is def more than a romance, because there is a whole family saga, secrets and suspense, more twists than I thought this story could have!
I found myself glued to my kindle cause I wanted to know everything right that very second lol

The Note by Natalie Wrye. I have read other books in this series that I enjoyed, and I really wanted to like this book- but I just didn’t feel the connection with the characters that I was hoping for. Wow! This takes the hotness and revenge for someone to another level. The chemistry between Noah and Sophia is explosive and I swear at one point I thought my Kindle was going to combust. However, there is so much more going on. There's mystery, suspense, vengeance and it all ties their story together. I loved it!

The Note is the story of Noah and Sophia.
I have to confess that I had a hard time getting into this one but once in, it grabbed me and sucked me into the well plotted story. What a great storyline and well created characters. I loved the nicknames Little Bear and Big Bad Wolf. Many secrets are revealed. And the ending... Wow! Can't wait for the next one.
I also love the fact that all books are interconnected.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is Noah and Sophia's book and it was a great read this two kind of have a love-hate relationship and I could not help but root for them the storyline was really good and held my interest right until the very end.
