The dark elves with the gift of magic invade Asgard, and the battle is fierce. Warriors fall on all sides, and the future looks bleak. Unless something changes, this battle has the markings of Ragnarok. Desperate to save her realm, Kara fights with Elan’s help, searching for the elusive Loki. He has promised aid but fails to intervene.
Even though many friends fight alongside them, certain vital players remain absent—beings that Kara thought would support her and Asgard to the end. Will she be able to find Loki before Asgard falls?

I think if you're looking for a quick read, this series if for you. It's decently written, and had it's moments. Also, while this book ends on a satisfying note there are some cliffhanger bits, and a sequel series after our MC graduates.
I feel like in each book the ending wasn't very... filling. It leaves on a pure cliffhanger in the book before this, and then starts mid-battle in this one. And some characters didn't feel believable. Elan was good, the mistress was also pretty good (well believable, since what she doesn't isn't very good). But my main issue is with all the attempted pot twists and villains.
Slight spoilers for the series below:
Okay so the thing with Gilroma (and Haurt too) (i think that's how you say their names) confused me. I understood his motives before the big plot twist happened. Then I wondered why the author didn't just have Loki offer him something to make him fight with him (instead of the author revealing that Gilroma WAS Loki).
Also I felt everyone became way to accepting of Kara after the fight. No one held any grudges at all, and not even the bully students made a comment on it. She also never hesitated and thought: "Hey, these guys are rude. Why am I still making excuses for them?" and she also spoke up in front of her teachers and preached all this stuff, making them hate her even more.
I was already excitedly waiting for this book, having enjoyed the previous ones, and the eagerness to learn what would happen only increased when I started reading it. It's a gripping read, with a main character you can't help rooting for and feeling for, not to mention wonderful worldbuilding, and a whole load of other fantastic characters. Awesome ending to an amazing series, which fans of dragons and Norse mythology will love.
*NOTE: I was given a free advanced copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This fact has in no way influenced my opinion of the book, nor the contents of this review.
first paragraph I was struck by the injustice suffered by this selfless woman from everyone she's protecting. by the end of chapter one I was choking on it, it's that painful. she's too good for these people. was reminded of the one about no good deed. I think compelling could be applied from page one. I was moved(again). 'bout halfway thru, reminded(again) why I love this story. nevermind her tenacity, it's just painful to see someone so absurdly generous to people so blatantly undeserving. but then there's some good news(finally?)
Every fantasy now has a kick-ass girl who is treated unfairly until she manages to show everyone what she can do. This is swell. When I was younger we never got books about us unless we were the fainting type who swooned into the hero’s arms. Its much better now and a shout out to the author. Thank you for making the whole set on kindle unlimited. There is nothing more annoying than reading one or two books in a set and then being told that if you want to read the rest fork over some cash.
I have all the books as taken me just 2 days they excellent books finished one booked moved straight on to the next brilliant story and the characters are excellent how they change from book to book can't wait to read on to see what happens to some of the characters in the next lot of book if there are any
This series of books was interesting and gripping. The characters were delightful and special. As I finished each one I immediately ordered the next. Though I found them to be more violent than I usually enjoy.I still wanted to read them.
This was a super read!!! I really enjoyed this entire series and finding out who was behind it all. Thank You Katrina!!! I recommend this entire series!
As with many fantasy tales, a huge battle happens and Kara’s effort to unite finally comes to fruition. There are huge casualties everywhere on all sides but the conclusion is the best possible scenario. I am pleased with outcome but find the lead in to the next series really vague. My curiosity will win still…of course.
