A Non-Shifter Mpreg Romance

Milo
When I fled to the city with my daughter, I thought I’d never feel safe again.
It took everything for us to get out alive.
I trusted too easily back then. I believed in fairytales like Fate and true love.
Then he swoops in, trying to save me.
My friend’s estranged older brother; rich and brooding and hot as hell.
He’s raising his little boy all alone since his wife died.
I think he’s a little bit broken, just like I am.
He works his way under my defenses.
Makes me trust him.
Fall for him.
Too bad I don’t believe in happily ever after anymore.
The past always catches up.

Jason
Cold. Detached. Heartless.
My reputation doesn’t bother me.
All I care about in this world is my son.
Until him.
The sweet omega who always has a smile for everyone he meets… Apart from me.
Becoming his landlord is just the start.
I’ll do whatever it takes to show him we’re meant to be a family.
Nothing will keep us apart.
Not my disapproving family. Not his abusive ex.
Because I protect what’s mine. And this omega?
He’s mine.

Guarding Hope is book 3 set in the Misty City omegaverse, where gruff alphas meet feisty omegas, and mend their broken hearts. Sweet, super-steamy, with no cliffhanger endings. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Milo is an omega who ran away from an abusive relationship; since there’s a lack of rights for omegas in society, he is scared that he might lose his daughter. Jason is an alpha who closed off his heart to everyone except for his son. They find in one another a second chance at love and forming a family. After dealing with Milo’s abusive ex, they finally reach their HEA. Another cute addition to the series!

Guarding Hope is the third book in the Misty City Omegas series by River Ryan. This book is about Milo, Elias' (from the first book) little brother and Jason, Xander's (second book) big brother. Both are single parents. I loved their story. They are great together and I loved their kids.

Jason had met Milo and knew he was meant to be his but Milo is wary after a bad relationship.
Alpha Jason had seen Omega Milo At the omega shelter and knew he was meant to be his but Milo is wary of alphas after his relationship with his daughter Hope's father who he had run from. When Jason sees another alpha harass the follow Milo out of the diner he had just made a delivery at and manages to haul him off Milo. Milo is thankful but leaves not wanting to connect with an alpha plus he is late to collect Hope from childcare. The next day Jason spot a stack of boxes like the ones Milo had delivered which give him an idea and he buys them all planning to come back for the next day delivery. Milo is shocked to get a rush order from the diner he had delivered earlier and sorts out where he will cook these extra Sweetie Pies. When he delivers them Jason is sitting waiting to speak to him.

This was my favorite book in the series. It was great to see Milo get his HEA, and to see how far he has come since the first book. I was a little unsure of Jason given what we had seen of him before, but he quickly proved to be the perfect alpha for Milo. It was clear how much both Milo and Jason love their kids, both have been so dedicated to making the best of being a single father. Jason was protective, but he was so sweet about it that it didn't come off as too dominate. Both Tate and Hope were adorable children, it's clear how much they love their dads. Though there was some drama and tension in the story, I didn't feel like it got blown too out of proportion and helped the plot flow.

Although you could read this story as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books first so you understand more of the background (especially for the secondary characters).

This is dramatic, romantic and sweet. When Milo is accosted by an alpha who won't take no for an answer, Jason comes to his rescue. After that neither could stop thinking about the other, and when it turns out that he will be Milo's new landlord, Jason gives Milo the apartment under his for the same rent that Milo would've be payed for the tiny apartment on the first floor. They, and their children, soon fall into a comfortable friendship that feels like they're a family. When Jason's father finds out about their relationship, he tries to cause trouble for Milo. Milo becomes even more paranoid about Hope's alpha father finding them. Some shocking twists to the story change the dynamics of several relationships. I really loved how perfect for each other Jason and Milo are, and Tate and Hope are so cute and entertaining.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

I have loved all the books in this series so far but this one has got to be my favourite. We met Milo in Nathan and Elias’ book. And we met Jason briefly in Xander and Barrett’s book. Milo is Elias’ brother and Jason is Xander’s brother. Both men are single fathers. Both men are messed up from their past. And both find something in each other that they have never had before. Love. This book was sweet, romantic with a bit of suspense. It’s was amazing and I was a bit sad when it ended. I hope we get more form this series soon! Loved it!

Two broken halves make a solid whole. It was great to finally get Milo's story. Milo is still living with Ruth, who gives Omega tenants a break. Milo making a delivery to Eddie's Diner. He's making good money in his business. An Alpha from the gym tries cheesy lines, touches Milo and follows him out frightening Milo, who runs. Jason steps up and attacks the Alpha thinking he pushed Milo. The attacker threatens to sue, Jason gives a biz card with his name. He has clout! Sadly, the dad has trashed the family name of Wescott and Jason spends his life trying to redeem it. Jason recognizes Milo as his mate and decides to make his move in his dysfunctional way. Awesome story! Milo and Jason are complementary men who may be able to heal each other. Sad drama, a few confrontations. Strong characters. Elias/Nathan, Xander/Barrett make an appearance. Nicely done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Who would have thought a chance meeting would lead to a lifetime of love? This story was wonderful and I absolutely love the two main characters. i loved the fact that they took their time to get to know each other and slowly developed feelings. Milo had major relationship issues and Jason past childhood with his domineering father had him with issues also. Brought together these two lovely men were able to overcome their issues and fall in love. River Ryan was able to show love is love and it doesn't matter what the gender is. It's all about how that person makes you feel. Great storytelling. Highly recommend!

Jason is an alpha. Handsome, tough and just trying to get through life raising his sweet little boy. He knows who omega Milo is. He's a friend of Jason's estranged brother. Two single parents drawn to each other. Jason knows Milo is his mate. He will do whatever he has to to protect Milo and their children. This is a good romantic read.

Guarding Hope is the third book in the Misty City Omegas series, which has Milo (Elias's brother) and Jason (Xander's brother) getting their happily ever after. I think that I connected with Milo's struggles in this book more than the main characters in the previous books in the series. This is in part because of Milo's desperate need to protect his daughter, and partly because of the emotional scars from his abusive past relationship. While I was reading Milo's story, his struggles to keep his daughter safe and happy really resonated with me.

And Jason, he really made my heart hurt. He wanted so badly to reconnect with his brother Xander and to form a relationship with Milo but his loveless upbringing and the heavy responsibility of being his father's successor have left him feeling off balance and unequipped to deal with his feelings. One thing that I really loved about Jason, besides his need to protect Milo, was the love that he had for his son and the determination he had to be a better father to his child than his own father had been to him.

This was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read more stories in the future. 4.5 stars

Jason is a single father who wants Milo who also is a single father. Milo ex was abusive so he's leery of another relationship. When he finally decides to give the relationship a chance someone tries to tear them apart. I really enjoyed this book.
