What A Fascinating new case that is put before Detective Arla Baker!! This book just keeps you locked in through some gruesome scenes! A young baby is Missing, but the case is of people who want No One to know about it, even refusing the Detective to call any crime scene officers!! ...A SMASHING story!!!
This is the sixth book in the Detective Arla Baker series, But reads very well as a stand-alone! There are so many surprises, fascinating scenes and well described characters that take you on a chilling adventure. The beginning reels you in, an empty cot where a baby was supposed to be, the room window wide open, a mother's worst nightmare come true...The parents are Rebecca, a well-known actress, and her husband,Jeremy is from a wealthy family. The facts brought to light will have you breathless..turning pages quickly as the probability of locating the baby alive drop..
I highly recommend this instant classic, a fascinating look into police methods, the life of the 'rich and powerful', and twisted ideas of a mixed up mind. I received an ARC from the author, and my honest thoughts and feelings are given to You in this review.

Wow, this story definitely grips you. Instagramer Rebecca is extremely influential. Posting her baby’s pictures doesn’t end up being a wise decision. I couldn’t stop reading.

This is the second book that I have read in this series and they do work well as stand-alone . Every mother's nightmare to find an empty cot and an open window. I had lots of different theories and some turned out to be right, this didn't detract from my enjoyment, I just gave myself a pat on the back. I can highly recommend this book and I am determined to read the rest in the series.

In this saga of Arla Baker which carries on from the previous novel, where Arla discovers she is pregnant with Harry Mehta's baby her Sargeant, so this novel is a bit near home as Arla is called to Rebecca Stone's house very upmarket property about her baby that has been taken! kidnapped! maybe, she is an Influential Instagrammer and is quite happy with Instagramming telling the world and photos of her child which is now missing and she does not want to involve the police so it's just Arla and Harry at this point, which is like having your arms tied behind your back, this ridiculous couple want no publicity Arla being Arla not happy as she is almost to term herself and will be on maternity leave very soon, so a very big rush to find baby, but the more Arla and Harry digs into the couple they do not seem that happy, in fact quite strange, but Arla does get her way in the end and brings in forensic's. A very twisted tale in all, quite in-depth, the characters well portrayed M L Rose knows how to spin a good yarn and with a great outcome but not always as the reader imagines. To end this novel Arla does have her baby but will not tell the sex as its a must-read, and she is going to have a well-earned break but Harry not so sure as Arla's replacement has already been decided and its not good. These novels can be read as standalone's but for anybody who's read the previous novels gets to know the characters.

The 6th book the the Arla Baker series has you sitting on the edge of your seat, turning pages and holding your breath! Another fantastic murder mystery by this author you just can't put down. Rebecca Stone, a famous actress and her well connected husband finds their newborn baby is kidnapped. Not wanting the press involved, Detective chief inspector, Arla and her group of detectives including the father of her soon to be born child, Detective Inspector Harry Mehta are asked to investigate but keep it below the radar and find the baby. All things seem to lead to Rhys Mason, Rebecca's ex who was obsessed with her when they were together, but abuse made her leave. There is a stalker online, could it be him? And when one of Arla's prenatal class friends is found murdered and her baby ripped from her womb, Arla is beyond herself and vigorously goes after clues and evidence. There are so many twists and turns and people who you think are one way turn out to be something else. What a roller coaster ride you are on with this book! I love this series, especially since the author keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. What a great ending. I didn't really see it coming. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series. I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. Having read all of the Arla Baker series I have to admit that this one just might be my favorite. The author showed a tender, emotional side of Arla that we haven't seen before; not even in the search for her sister and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I began to see a more human side to her instead of a cold, impersonal detective who had shut herself off to the world because of all how she had been previously hurt. I must admit when Arla discovered she was pregnant I was so afraid it was going to go the way of so many other books and movies/tv series; the pregnancy would be terminated due to an accident or something going wrong. At times it feels like authors have an inbred animosity to children; as if there is no life or action after a child is born. I'm so glad to see Mr. Rose doesn't follow that line of thinking. And in case you mistakingly think the story is just about Arla and her pregnancy; it's not. It's the typical great police work, terrific characters, and flowing action I've come to expect from the Arla Baker series. I have yet to be disappointed. Now let's just hope this isn't the way the author chooses to end the series. I won't be happy!!!!!

Her Silent Obsession by M.L. Rose is the 6th book in the Detective Arla Baker Series. This is the sixth installment of this series but it can very well be read as a standalone. M.L. Rose wrote a thrilling murder mystery which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This book will have you sitting on the edge of you seat turning the pages as fast as you can. The many twists and turns will definitely keep you guessing I know I was. I was also wrong plenty of times when I thought I knew what was happening. This is a very well written book with well-defined believable characters. I did not want to put this down even though my hearty was racing. The ending to this story is one that you will never guess. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next.

This is book 6 in a series and it stands alone, but reading previous books would give you background on the main characters. This was an interesting well developed mystery with an ending I did not see coming. A missing baby case is hard for anyone to investigate but when the lead detective is pregnant and due soon it is even harder. Add in a prominent couple— he is a producer and she is an Instagram star—who wants complete privacy and the investigating becomes even harder. Throw in a crazy ex-boyfriend who holds grudges and you have the elements of a really good book. M L Rose has written a book that touches heartstrings and pulls the reader into the story. It mystifies and horrifies and satisfies. Thanks to the author for allowing me to read an advance copy. I look forward to reading the rest of this series

As usual the plot was brilliant, I didn’t even get the twist at the end .

Again as usual the author is badly served by her editor and proof reader. Silly continuity mistakes,
I was surprised near the start of the book that the housekeeper said she’d been out for food for the baby , when the baby was 5 weeks old . I don’t know if this was originally meant to be a clue that wasn’t later needed , or whether the author believes 5 week old babies eat ‘food’ and not just take milk.

Also one of the male characters is the nephew of the other, yet later in the book the nephews wife is suddenly referred to as his daughter in law.

DCI Area Baker

Am loving these books 📚. The characters are believable, story lines fascinating and I try read each one in a day as they are difficult to put down. While reading I get my husband to bring up the various locations in Google earth 🌎 so I have pictures in my head which really brings the storylines to life. If you like a good crime/thriller novel you'll love this series. Hope there will be many more. 10 out of 10

Her Silent Obsession is book 6 in the Detective Arla Baker series. A well written book, with a twisted storyline. I figured out some of the storyline myself, but actually I didn't see the ending coming at all. For those that enjoy a mystery/thriller they should give this book a read. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of the book from the author, and this is my fair and honest review.

Great misdirection. Through the entire story you just know who did it, then, you find you're wrong. The great nephew of a rock star is kidnapped and later found dead. Baker and her crew hit road block after road block from the family and other influential people, but they push on. I was gifted this from the author.

An Insta star has her baby kidnapped. But why?

Detectives Arla and Harry investigate a baby's kidnapping, with Arla late into her pregnancy it is even more upsetting. But nothing prepares them for the sights and horrors to come..Or the stunning twist . Enjoy, I was hooked from beginning to end.

Good but ....

This series is good in so much as characters are interesting and plots have a few twists and turns.
BUT - the appalling errors drive me mad!
Spelling mistakes, the wrong names used, scenes where description changes. I could go on, but you get my meaning.
Get a good proof reader and use them

Arla Baker Mystery Series Books 4-6
Her Silent Obsession #6 of the Arla Baker Mystery Series, is an intense, fast-paced romp through SW London involving all of the Clapham Common Police Station personnel we know and love. We experience every form of despair we can imagine before an ending that will shock and surprise us. As usual! I cannot recommend highly enough the works of Mick Bose, also writing as ML Rose. He will always take you by surprise, after trips to locales you have to add to your bucket list. A fine author to travel within the far reaches of your mind.

Another Arla Baker thriller. A famous actress's baby is missing and later found dead. A jilted ex husband who is seeking revenge on a famous person that sexual abused him and his ex wife. A thrilling conclusion with an ending that will not disappoint and you will not see coming.

Page turner!

This crime thriller is well written, fast paced, with plot twists which are totally unexpected. Character development is complex with psychotic undertones. ML Rose has performed admirably! Bring on more!

Arla Baker does it again.

Like a maze you run around thinking you have finally figured out what is going on only to run into a brick wall and have to make a turn and start following another lead. Never saw the ending coming.

I'm hooked. What a great read.

This, without a doubt, keeps getting better and better. Characters in and out flawlessly. I love how Arla moves towards her assumptions pushed by Harry. A wonderful team they are. You will not be disappointed.

An enjoyable read

I enjoyed this book just as much as the other Arla books. I do find the use of American words annoying. We have boots on cars not trunks, gotten fell out of use a long time ago. There were others but they did not spoil the enjoyment of the book.

Enjoyable

Well written with plenty of red herrings to keep the reader guessing
Just a point about Arla having an epidural for child birth she definitely wouldn't be able to push her baby out as she would be numb
