Holly Sutton thinks her father hung the moon and can do no wrong. That couldn't be further from the truth. But when Elijah Barrett, her new boss, seems hell bent on taking her dad down, she must look closer at her childhood and ask some hard questions. Is daddy really the monster Elijah claims he is? Is that why her big brother left home all those years ago and didn't look back? And why is she so attracted to the man who wants her father in prison?
Ivy Nelson writes delicious contemporary romance with kinky alpha heroes and sassy heroines you wish could be your best friend. Club Solitaire is her favorite fictional place to hang out in, and she spends most of her free time spinning tales set there. Ivy currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband of five years and their son. When she isn’t writing, she’s probably reading something dirty or drinking wine with her readers on Facebook in the Ivy's Diamond Divas reader group
Holly Sutton leads a charmed life from the outside looking in. She’s a socialite that helps to organise charity fundraisers, makes appearances and gives speeches on behalf of her family..herself and her father. But she wants to do more. Use her business degree for something more challenging. Her brother Patrick cut himself off years before and although he still speaks to Holly, he has nothing to do with his father. Elijah Barrett is good friends and business partners with Patrick. They not only produce quality man made diamonds together, but they are also Dom’s at their BDSM club, Solitaire, along with other board members. Elijah has long suspected that Nicholas Sutton was behind his mothers death, and Patrick also suspects his father was behind his own mothers murder. They also suspect that he is dealing in blood diamonds, which is why they are fighting so hard to have their diamonds receive more official backing. The only one that has no idea about any of this is Holly. When she meets Elijah at a nightclub one night, they are instantly attracted to each other. Although he told her he’d phone her, life got in the way and he didn’t. Patrick passes his sisters resume on to Elijah when he needs yet another PA. Only at the interview stage does it become clear that Patrick’s Elijah and Holly’s nightclub Elijah are one and the same. The story is not only trying to solve murders, and other unsavoury actions that Nicholas Sutton is behind. It explores Holly and Elijah’s personal and professional relationships and Holly’s introduction into the world of club Solitaire and BDSM. It is very well written and interesting throughout. Blood covers a lot of ground, is fast paced and introduces a lot of interesting, believable characters. An excellent read.

I could not put this book down! I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning to finish, I got so much more than I was expecting from this book!
The chemistry between Elija and Holly was simultaneously intense and real. The family drama and corporate conflict unfolded at a spectacular pace and wove a gripping story with a BDSM edge.
The BDSM elements of the story came in gradually but not without the intense steamy goodness readers of this genre adore. This portrayal of the evolution of a relationship in the lifestyle read so much more authentically than many other in the genre.
I could not get enough of Elija and Holly or the rest of the Solitare family. All of Ivy’s characters were so full and rich you feel like you truly know each of them. (On that note, can Dakota please be my new BFF?)
I must admit I’m not usually a big fan of third person narrative voice within the romance genre but Ivy Nelson is the exception to that rule. She was able to draw me right into the story and the hearts and minds of her wide array of vibrant and dynamic characters.
When Holly and Eli meet out at a club the attraction is palpable. Forces working in the background of both of their lives keep them from reconnecting until, months later they are thrown together.
Elija doesn’t know if he can truly trust anyone with the Sutton name but he refuses to let Holly go either and as their connection deepen he knows he needs to bring her up to speed with his involvement at Solitaire and their own connected pasts. But all of that is easier said than done.
Get ready to fall head first into the world of Solitaire...

This was a definite 4.5 out of 5. Easily could have been a 5 if the author had expanded on certain scenes.
Starting off, I wasn’t a huge fan of Holly, the main character. But she grew one me. Elijah I adored right away. He’s my favorite kind of bad good guy. The bad boy turned good. Except this bad boy has a guilty pleasure.
Patrick was another character I really enjoyed. And I wouldn’t mind a book about him *wink wink*
I’m a sucker for cheesy romance, this was exactly what I needed. A naughty hallmark movie in written form.
I listened to the audio book on audible. The narrator MJ Webb is one of my favorite narrators. She really makes each character unique. And dang her her voice soothing.
I was looking for something to read among the amazon offers and I came across this book, which will stand alone because I really felt that the story was badly written.
Stavo cercando qualcosa da leggere tra le offerte di amazon e mi sono imbattuta in questo libro, che peró rimarrá da solo perché mi é sembrato proprio che la storia fosse scritta male.
I have to say I enjoyed the first book of this series more than I thought I would. I was attracted to the series by the titles and with this one Blood + Diamond Doms = Blood Diamonds in my mind and I did love the Leonardo DiCaprio movie. In this book, we meet Holly Sutton whose father owns a big Diamond business and on the other side, we have her brother Patrick Sutton and Elijah Barnett. They are her dad's competitors and also they do things the legal way whereas Nicholas Sutton and his team are dirty as dogs except they have kept Holly in the dark by not giving her responsibilities in case she caught on. When Patrick offers Holly a way to break free of her dad and work for a company she admires, she jumps at the chance and imagines her surprise when the famous Elijah Barnett is the same Eli who promised to call her three months ago but didn't. Now Eli is in a bind as he has strong feelings for Holly but he didn't realize that Sutton was her last name. Could Hope not to know what her father is up to or has she been sent to be a spy, a double agent? This book talks about the family dynamics and the vendetta between Elijah/Patrick and Nicholas Sutton as well as the introduction of Holly into the world of BDSM as it turns out both Eli and Patrick are part of the exclusive Club Solitaire and are Doms. Is Holly ready to embrace "all" of Elijah even it means training to become his submissive to his Dom? Find out in Book #1 Blood. I am now looking forward to moving on and reading Book #2 Heist which is Patrick Sutton's story. Blood has a great mix of romantic suspense and BDSM and a great start to the Diamond Doms series by Ivy Nelson.
This book is amazing! As someone who grew up reading romance novels I can tell you there is a certain “fantasy” quality that shows you that the books isn’t real life. This book doesn’t have that! Even though the characters are rich and not your average joe, they have personality quirks that make them so relatable! The chemistry between the main characters, Eli and Holly, doesn’t feel forced or unrealistic and the attraction between them is, well, hot.
The storyline carries you and makes you want to stay up late to find out what happens! There is the drama between the main character’s families and the introduction of all the Club Solitaire board members and watching Eli and Holly navigate a new relationship while he introduces her (and educates) in the world of kink. Then there are the erotic scenes! Man, whew, those are hot! The scenes are steamy without coming off as lewd or corny. 🔥🔥
Overall, I’m super impressed with this book and cannot wait to read the rest in this series!
This book was an interesting read with family intrigue and mystery being the central elements of the story. I did expect a bit more BDSM as it is highlighted in the title of the book, but was (pleasantly) surprised at the slow progression into the BDSM side. There were still enough sizzle and heat in the book, while the BDSM aspects were dealt with very sensitively and in a manner that I feel may be more responsible than is the case with other authors and darker romances. (Make no mistake, I appreciate a dark romance and don't judge authors for taking BDSM and weaving a good story around it) Even if you don't usually read stories with BDSM themes, this is a safe romance read that you may enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
this book had a long introduction and didn’t get into the plot until page 300 and something. This book is out of 400 pages. the plot and the storyline didn’t captivate me into continuing the series. there wasn’t any exciting or surprising events that occurred.
I enjoyed this story very very much . It was a fast moving mystery thriller with billionaires and a BDSM club. It's well written and flows very well. I enjoy that there is a over all story plot not just the romance . I am looking forward to the next book in this series.... Better than 5***** stars
This was a hard story for me to rate. Things I enjoyed were the chemistry between Elijah and Holly, how their relationship developed, Holly's poise in dealing with new situations and people, the suspense, and the variety of characters. For me, it fell a little short on the bdsm scenes (may as well as featured a regular nightclub with separate sex scenes), and it was missing more of a discussion between Elijah and Holly when they got back together. Overall, I enjoyed this story.
In this book, Holly finds out, sometimes a family isn’t your blood relatives, but the friends you make Long the way. After Eli introduces Holly to his friends/partners at Solitaire, many of them tell her they have become a family. When her whole life falls apart, it’s that family that comes through when she needs help the most.
This is an excellent start to this series, and I look forward to the other Doms in it finding their happy endings as well.
It's time to hear from our Blood Red Diamond. Bookish Holly, much to her dismay, finds herself at a dance club entertaining the daughters of one of her Daddy's clients. Here she meets a man who sweeps her off her feet for an sexy dance. After taking her to a private office, Elijah teaches her some erotic moves that curl her toes and then has to leave suddenly. He promises to phone and then doesn't. This encounter fuels Holly's fantasies about seeing him again. Unsatisfied with her position working in the family's charitable foundation her brother suggests she apply as assistant to one of his business partners. It turns out to be Elijah and he's very happy to see her again and would prefer to have a personal relationship with her rather than a business one. Feeling the need to see what she can accomplish away from her father as much as she is attracted to him, Holly picks business over pleasure. And then finds there is still lots of hot and steamy pleasure to be had anyway as Holly has both her interest in kink and in Elijah satisfied when he takes her to his BDSM club. While working for him she discovers that Elijah believes her father has committed crimes and wants him to pay for them. Poor Holly is between a rock and a hard place with her love for Elijah causing her to question her belief in her adored father. Ms. Nelson has created characters full of depth and personality and pulls us along with them into the story of their romance. Loved it.
As I'm sure the title suggests, you will face adult themes in this book, so if you are a sensitive reader, or under 18 this may not but the book for you. Ivy Nelson is one of my favorite authors, and this book definitely didn't disappoint! The book is about Holly Sutton, daughter of a diamond seller, smart, and beautiful, but finding herself pigeonholed with the Sutton Company as the face of the charity, but never allowed to take part in the business itself. Elijah Barrett, smart, extremely wealthy, and a direct competitor to the Sutton's in the diamond trade. Holly has a chance meeting with Elijah at a night club, and boy do sparks fly. Holly ends up taking a job as Elijah's assistant, and as the two continue to work together, and date each other, Elijah begins to bring Holly into his BDSM world, and into Solitaire, a link club that he is a part owner in. I loved getting to know both Elijah, and Holly through this book, as well as all of the other members of the Solitaire family. Ivy does a great job of bringing her characters to life on the page, and I truly enjoyed the story, and the conflict between the Sutton's and Elijah Barrett from beginning to end!
They deserved their happy ending despite the pitfalls along the way! by sewsummore
Holly was searching for a more rewarding job and with her brothers help was given an interview with one of his friends. It was a man she had met briefly before, they had explored an erotic interlude, but that was in the past. Now she was asking for a job and despite objections from her father she went to work for Elijah. It was a perfect fit for both of them and the simmering attraction between them exploded into a full on relationship. However Elijah was her father business rival and it appeared that she had passed on private information and their relationship ended abruptly. This was not the end of their story, abduction and. attempted murder, money laundering all play a part before this couple find their happy ending. Elijah and Holly had both lost someone dear to them, their determination to do the right thing never wavered, they deserved their happy ending despite the pitfalls along the way.

This book is the first of read from this author and it had me captivated from the beginning. I read it in one sitting as I could not put it down. I've read other books that was about the D/s lifestyle but this one was so much more involved. It took you on a journey of their lives and what they had endured as younger children and you found out that their lives overlapped just a little, but enough to make it interesting. They way they fought the attraction they had for each other was well written. This book had me laughing out loud and silently crying at time when their childhood was brought up. I have purchased the first book about in this series (David Eastman's story) and can't wait to get my hands on Patrick's story.

A little light on the sexiness scale, but interesting. I liked the diamond angle not enough to continue the series. However, the subject of all diamonds being conflict diamonds is an issue that resonates with me. I think Ms. Nelson is on to something but she lacked focus. She introduced all the secondary characters, had an espionage and crime family plot, BDSM, and the diamond thing. It's too much for a simple feud romance. The club could have been a less dominant part of Eli's life and most of the secondary characters could have been introduced later in the series. Contrary to popular belief it's okay to simply introduce the second characters in the series in the first book and that's all. You can add people later but too many takes away focus and feelings away from the mcs of the book.
Great story, enjoyed the way it started, but felt both characters became somewhat wishy-washy as the story progressed on. I expected more boldness from them
Another stellar offering from Ivy Nelson. There is a very intense and intricate situation rising between Holly, the daughter of his enemy, sister of his friendand Elijah. With the instant and potent attraction making itself known at inopportune moments amid the danger surrounding Elijah’s company, Elijah has just about more than he can handle. Holly has her own issues to deal with. Breaking away from her father, who just may not be the upstanding citizen he chooses to portray, and an ex boyfriend with an awful lot to hide, her world is suddenly filled with mysteries galore, treachery and deceit. Some pretty hot scenes to keep your kindle warm.
Holly is tired of being the family face for the family charity foundation. Her father won't let her have more responsibility. Her brother has an idea of a possible job, but it is working for her father's enemy, Elijah. It turns out that Elijah was the sexy Eli that she had met in a bar a couple of months ago. Elijah and her brother, Patrick, have very good reasons to be suspicious about her father, but can Holly believe that he is a crook. Elijah introduces Holly to low level BDSM at the Solitaire Club, and she has to decide if she wishes to take it further.
A great read.

Blood is the first book in Ivy Nelson’s Diamond Doms series and focuses on the story of Elijah (Eli) Barrett, billionaire businessman who plans to reveal the man who killed his father and revenge his death, and Holly Sutton, who applies for a job with Eli but is unaware of of her father’s duplicity and involvement in Eli’s father’s death. Holly and Eli are attracted to each other which adds a twist to the novel. I highly recommend this dark read with its amazing characters and an intense plot with suspense, drama, and sizzling romance with a touch of BDSM.
I received a free ARC in return for an honest and voluntary review.
I enjoyed Hard, but I think Blood was better and it was a clear demonstration of the maxim God gives you your family, but thank God you can choose your friends. Holly loved her Dad but unfortunately he loved money more. Thanks to her brother Patrick, Holly meets Elijah and is not only introduced to the BDSM lifestyle but learns more about her father’s business and her mother’s death. To say everything does not go smoothly is an understatement but fortunately it all works out and there is a happy ending. There was even a cameo appearance by David and Emily.
This novel was easy to read and the story line just flowed. I really enjoyed the story as it unfolded. Holly Sutton was running the charity events for her father's company, but she wanted more. She meets Elijah Barrett at a bar and wants more from him. As it turns out he is a rival of Holly's father, Nicolas. There are secrets about Nicolas and his company that Holly is not aware of. She ends up working and falling for Eli as he likes to be called. Conflicts and accusations are thrown at Holly, but the truth will come out in the end.
I absolutely loved everything about Blood. It's an intriguing and exciting romance. Holly meets Eli in a bar but he's called away too soon. A few months later with the help of her brother Patrick, she gets an interview with Elijah Barrett. Let me just say undeniable chemistry. I love the gang from Solitaire. Boy do these Doms love hard, they protect, they're loyal and are family. This story has a great mix of drama, intrigue, mystery, BDSM and plenty of heat. This series has been so entertaining. I'm looking forward to Heist, Patrick's story next.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Holly and Elijah and Holly learning about BDSM. She's the daughter of a prominent businessman but he keeps her sheltered. Elijah works with her brother, they meet at a club after a gala. They hit it off but after an emergency they don't talk for several months. Until she goes to an interview at his company. But things are out of their control when her father tries to cause problems. Great HEA with tons of action and suspense.
