A bit about me:
NYT/WSJ/USAT International bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of lots of lovely years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.
While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) BAM: The Beginning is a short prequel to the Vested Interest series by Melanie Moreland. This is an introduction to the three men who are at the heart of the company, BAM. The three men whom I am madly in love with!



Bentley Ridge, Aiden Callaghan and Maddox Riley were brothers by choice. They each shared a troubled past that made them the men they are today. This prequel is told from Bentley’s point of view. Bentley had a dream, a company he could start that would secure a future for both him and his two best friends, his brothers. A company where he would be doing something he loved to do, creating beautiful buildings. Each of the men had a strength, something different they could bring to the company.



I was immediately drawn in. Melanie gives us just enough to make us start to fall in love with these men but also leaves us wanting more. This is just an introduction to the three of them, a glimpse into how their company BAM came to be. There will be women in their lives, women who will break through their defenses and make them fall. But you’ll have to read on in the series, read their individual books, for that. Bentley’s book will be first up and I can’t wait for you to see who will melt the ice around his heart.

I love these boys so hard. This entire series is a favorite of mine because each book brings something different: suspense, humor, sexy-steamy, and always a happily ever after.

In all my book groups, when this book is brought up, there are two similar questions:

I’m a huge fan of Melanie Moreland and The Vested Interest series. I just love those BAM boys, and this introduction to the series (currently free on all platforms), is just perfect. It’s a perfect introduction for anyone who wants to start this series, and it’s perfect for anyone who has already read and loved the series like myself. It’s perfect because it gave me an insight as to how the characters met, not just the BAM boys, but also Greg and Sandy. Guess what? I now feel the need to reread the series all over again. Bentley here I come.

The Vested Interest series is one of my favourites, I love the men of BAM so I was excited when I heard that Melanie Moreland had decided to give us an insight into how they met and how BAM came into being.

This is a quick introduction to the series and I have to say I loved what I learned. It made me decide to re read the series over the holidays. The story behind how these men met, their love and support for one another, their friendship and loyalty is one that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Although a short read, this book will draw you in, hook, line and sinker and take you on a journey of friendship and determination to overcome ones past. Each man brings something different to the table and between them they are a force to be reckoned with.

This book finishes where Bentley, the first book in The Vested Interest series begins and for those of you who are new to Ms.Moreland, I envy you the journey ahead.

Prequel to the series. I already read book 5 (Van's book).
I just grabbed #1 Bentley's book & about to read/listen to it. My friend Carol made me get the prequel
BAM is 4 chapters, which introduces Bentley and his college friends Aiden and Maddox. Great prequel... But Bentley needs some some lovin'

This was a super fast read. If you skip Bentley's first chapter at the end it's about 40-ish pages. I didn't feel like I gained a lot by reading this one, but since it was so fast and we got to see our boys together and a bit more of Sandy (can't wait to read her book!) I still enjoyed it.

Lovely opening to a series.

This is a great opening to a series of books. Have already started Bentley, and I believe I am going to enjoy this series. Has all the ‘feel good’ vibes from the characters created. Can’t wait to get into this more.

I absolutely love reading book by this author and I couldn't wait to start this new book series. This book is a very short and is a very fast read and this is the beginning of how and where it all began. This The Vested Interest Series.

This introduces us to all three men and how they began there dream. Bentley ' Bent ' is a man that knows what he wants, he's extremely ambitious and really strong minded. He's got itchy feet and he wants to starts up his own business and wants Maddox and Aiden to be apart of it too. Bentley has got a vision and knows exactly how he wants to begin to make it a success. They are all really supportive of each other and know each other inside out which i love.

This book gives us a quick look into the lives of theses men and after reading this short prequel this will certainly make you want to read the rest of this series. All three men have there own books and each time we get to look into there lives and they will all keep you hooked. This author really knows how to write fantastic characters that you will love.

This author really knows how to write books so they completely pull you in and keeps you hooked and I loved reading this short book and couldn't put it down. It makes you defiantly want to read the guys books to see where the story goes.

I love these characters already and the fact that they are so close as if brothers, this makes you just love them. I love backstories and that is what this is of the guys. I really enjoy reading this authors books and her style of writing I really like. This book will make you definitely go and read the rest in this series and I cant wait to dive right in.

I read the Vested Interest series when the books were released and am a big fan. Each of the three books featured a different hero, Bentley, Aiden and Maddox, the three smart and successful men who make up BAM Industries. To get a FREE prequel is the greatest gift ever as readers will learn how it all began. These three friends from college joined forces under the leadership of Bentley and under the watchful eye of their mother-figure, Sandy.

I love knowing backstories and BAM the Beginning will not disappoint. It explains everything from the ground-up and showcases just how tight their bond is, especially Bentley for being so generous. If you haven’t read this series, start here for FREE and you not want to stop there. Each of the men are so unique and find love in the trilogy.

We all fell in love with the three primary members of BAM - Bentley, Aiden and Maddox - within their own books and now the reader get an insight on how the three started off and explains that through friendship, communication and understanding they went from college students to billionaires. So many questions get answered and even more insight are given into Sandy's connection to the boys. The perfect prequel to the BAM series and should not be missed.

A little glimpse into the origins of BAM. I really liked seeing the beginning of their story, still the same characters but prior to their success. Their banter and friendship is still the same, but we get to see how Sandy mothered them and how other characters were introduced. I found this a perfect set up to the series, and as a little bonus it was Free!!!

Best Backstory

Absolutely loved this book. It was interesting to see how BAM came to be and the early days of the company. It just makes you love the guys so much more. I wish the book was longer. And I like how it merges well into the beginning of Bentleys book.
I would definitely recommend reading.
Is a standalone, but very easily can be part of the Vested Interest series.
I will probably re-read this book.

Great beginning for the BAM boys. The Vested Interest books are all awesome but reading their beginning how they came to be. How Bently needed his best friends with him. Loved it now to go back and read the series again.

I loved this origin story for the vested interest series. I loved how this story shows how close the BAM boys are. How Bentley wanted his best friends with him in his company. How he took the time to make Aiden and Maddox see the future in his business plan, to include them all. How Sandy was the one who helped him the most at the beginning of Bam.

I love the Vested Interest Series, and have from the beginning with Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox (BAM)! Although we got a glimpse of the beginning in Bentley, it was wonderful seeing the thought process and the initiation of BAM. You get to see the confidence of Bentley, and how he wanted to bring his "brothers" along with him. It made me love him even more ! After reading this beginning, I am compelled to re-read the series. I think it will enhance my enjoyment!

I loved that we got to see a bit of the before guys and how the young Bentleys mind worked.

It was short but just what we needed. It makes me want to start over from the beginning with Bentley (who may or may not be my favorite).

Bentley and his buddies, who were like brothers to him their names Aiden and Maddox. They are all in the same college together. Bentley decides after talking to people who consider his confidants to start his own company and that is where the story begins. This prequel made me want to read the series.
