In this book, we meet Lady Beatrice Smythe. Widowed about 2 years earlier, she is not a happy woman. Dealing with the loss of her husband, the Duke of Marlowe, as with all the obligations she faces as the Duchess, the estate she has to look after, the social obligations she has and all the trappings that go along with it are driving her into a severe state of melancholy. She is overjoyed when she receives a letter from her dear friend Helena in 'Scotland asking her to come visit. She states that she is pregnant and reminds her that she has not yet met her godson. She decided to go and spend a month in Scotland. On the way there, she is robbed and the two servants who went with her are shot dead by the robber. She makes her way to the inn at which she was supposed to spend the night and is helped by a travelling Scotsman, Brodie. Things happen and they end up spending the night together. She coyly tells him her name is Margaret and thinks she will never see him again. However, she does meet him again at Helena's . Love blossoms, but the lovers' path is fraught with twists and turns. There is a dastardly villain, the duties of a lairdship for Brodie, the call of duty for the Duchess, the misunderstandings that can easily befall a relationship, another robbery of the beautiful Duchess, all conspiring to thwart the blooming relationship. This tale is full of love, adventure, passion and even a little fear. It is a great story to read though and I recommend it as a good read.

ONE UNBELIEVABLE ADVENTURE!!!
Smack down! Fiona not only brought it, she sewed the tapestry, mended the lines and mastered the scenes. Showcasing the wonder and thrill, displaying the drama, intrigue, distress, turmoil, danger and mounting suspense while tension spirals, blasting this treasure to life brilliantly. Divvying up incredibly, well rounded scenario's that punch dead center, ramping up the anticipation and adrenaline with such intensity and precision, thrusting this gem to a whole new level. Advancing through the trials and tribulations, along with a bounty of plot twists and sleek turns, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. The personalities are well matched and balanced with enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. Awesome job Fiona, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us.

Review for Highlanders Mysterious lady

Oh wow what a food read. I absolutely love your style of writing Fiona. I lo e the characters you pportra, the realness of the stories you wrote and once you start reading one of your books it's so difficult to put down. I felt so sorry for Beatrice as she had to go through so much first to find her soul mate!! As for Brodie he basically had the same problem and it made me so happy that they found each other and that Beatrice came to her senses and realised that she should çome first in her life. I am so happy that it turned out to be the best ending for both of them and they truly deserved the happiness they both found together. Pkease bring us more of your awesome writing Fiona 😅

Lady Beatrice Smythe had a happy marriage, though not as fulfilling as she believed it could be, until her husband’s death two years earlier. She is grieving his loss, as well as the loss of the children she was never able to carry to term, and she can’t seem to pull herself out of her sad state. When her best friend, Lady Helena from Scotland, asks her to come visit her, Bea makes the decision to do so in order to avoid a confrontation with her late husband’s nephew, Frances. She embarks in a journey that brings danger and more death into her life, while also allowing her to experience a wild freedom she has never experienced before. Little does she know that a one night stand will be come a month of being with the one man who has unfrozen her heart.

Highlander's Mysterious Lady is on of those love stories that you have a difficult time putting down! The story hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. I could not wait for the story to unfold. Beatrice depressed after her husband's death travels to Scotland to visit her best friend, while on her way a brawny Highlander will help her get over her loss and find the strength to be free. I was totally swept away with sigh-worthy romance of Brodie and Beatrice. Throw in all the drama, delicious romance, adventure, suspense, robberies, and trials and tribulationsn this book will hold your attention to the fulles. Another Must Read by Fiona Faris.

I received an ARC of The Highlander's Mysterious Lady from the author, Fiona Faris. This author gets better and better with every new book of hers I read. Beatrice Smythe, is a widowed Duchess. Brodie Paterson is Laird of his clan. When these two accidentally meet due to unforeseen circumstances, sparks fly and they have one unforgettable night of passion, under the assumption they will never meet again. Fate had other plans for them. This story is spectacular. Beatrice has to decide whether she wants to follow her heart or not. Brodie needs to learn to follow his heart. The story is sensual; it is mysterious; it has an element of self-discovery. Spectacular read!

A heartbroken Duchess and the Laird to heal her

Luckily for Beatrice that the thieves in the first robbery just left her unconscious and didn’t kill her like they did her servants, also leaving the horses so that she was able to get to a place of safety.
Meeting Brodie without knowing what the connection was and how they were able to find feelings towards each other so quickly and how empathetic they were of the things that affected their lives made them so much more heartwarming characters.
Beatrice found that she was much stronger than she thought, when she was able to defend herself and Brodie from Francis.
Loved 💘the story very much.

What an intriguing, enjoyable story. I didn't want to put it down . Very unique idea w Brodie and Beatrice both trying to resolve similar personal issues at the same time leading to each other. The descriptions of the 3 of them and Scotland itself made me feel I was w them and I was connecting e my own Jamie( of Outlander fame). Having been to Scotland and seeing if their castles, it felt like I was truly there( and I wish I was too) Thank-you Fiona for a very mesmerizing gem of a story. Anyone who's dreamt if meeting their own soul mate should truly read this one.

If you love historical romance you will definitely love this book. The characters are genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. Although I've liked all of
Fiona Faris's books, this book had me turning the pages forgetting about the world around me until I got to the last page. Tears, laughter, drama, intrigue, danger and suspense, with a HEA is wrapped up in one beautiful story.
Thank you for sharing this with us and continue writing beautiful Sottish Highland Stories like only you can.

Brodie and Beatrice were wonderful characters and I felt every bit of their pain as they dealt with their losses. Fiona always does such an exceptional job of making her readers experience everything right along with her characters and we feel like we know these individuals on a deeply personal level. I was so happy when Brodie and Bea were able to finally get their HEA with each other!!

It was emotionally packed

It was beautifully, emotionally packed! My heart immediate went out to theirs woes from page 1. Anybody reading wouldn’t be able to help how this book moves hearts. I liked how it was a slow build up and then it became really raw and gritty. I wanted to get my hands on Frances myself! He’s an unbelievable, sorry excuse for a human being. The resolution was so sweet, where it can being much hope and reassurances that’s bad things do come to an end.

Cute story

It was a cute story that I might have liked more if I was 15 years old. The dialogue and the characters seemed a little doltish to me. I was not emotionally invested in any of the characters. It read more like a fairy tale which is okay for many people. Alas, I have no writing talent at all. If I could write as well and as prodigiously as Fiona I would be proud of myself.

What a love story! A grand and beautiful tale of past grief and pain slowly making way for happiness and joy. It was not easy for our couple Beatrice and Brodie. They had a lot of baggage to deal with. Their love for each other made it possible to let go of the past and work towards a happy loving future. An extremely enjoyable read. I highly recommend it.

Mystery, intrigue, romance, good ending too. A good ride from a sad beginning to a wonderful ending. Full of suspense, beautiful descriptions and history. A few syntax errors encountered throughout. This story has everything and deserves the five star rating I gave. Thank you.

Highly enjoyable storyline. Feelings of loss, heartache and guilt are shared by both main characters. Can the love they are starting to feel for each other overcome the pain of their pasts? Brodie and Beatrice are both strong characters who have seen much in their lives. This book held my interest all the way through. Well done!

The mysterious lady she was.

What a way to start out on a trip to Scotland to see Beatrice's best friend Helena. Beatrice is the mysterious lady and Brodie is the Laird and brother to Helena's husband and their clan. Their's is truly a love at first sight romance. Great story but needs a better proof reader.

Unfocused

I am a fan of Fiona Faris and enjoy reading her Scottish highland romances. Unfortunately, the story line was a little too rushed and disappointing. One example was after being robbed once on a dangerous Bea would have taken an armed guard (or two) for added protection.

Great Story

The story was really good, the characters very well written and enjoyable. However, the whole book was seriously in need of proof reading for both spelling and context, not for the Scottish but the English. If that had been done, it would have been a more enjoyable read.
