I just reread this book and found it to be every bit as useful as the first time, perhaps even moreso now that I have more experience gardening than the first time I read it. This book is an excellent primer for gardeners, farmers, others involved with land management, composters, and anyone else who wants to understand how organic soil systems work. The chapter on water dynamics is explained more thoroughly, and in a more easily understood way, than my junior high school biology teacher's lessons, and is but one of many excellent things about this book.
Most of the information is very basic and somewhat repetitive, but a nice primer to some technical aspects of organic agriculture and soil science. The diagrams and figures are top notch, though.
