Now that Serena and Hasaan are married nothing can stop them, or so they think. Jackie is missing and her mom has something valuable to Hassan that she will give him if he complies with the outrageous demand she has. Unfortunately for her, nothing scares him and she along with everyone else who tries to come for him will realize, just because his occupation changed, doesn't mean he won't go to war if necessary.
Tanisha finds out some devastating news regarding her husband and mother. However, is the news something she was already aware of or did the reality of what her mom did to Serena come and hit her the same way? Gary gets his wife to reveal the one secret that she didn't want him to know and that will push him away causing Tanisha do something so drastic it may cost her, her life. In this epic ending find out who the woman was that visited Hasaan in the jail and what she really came for. Also, will he be able to handle the one woman who caused so much pain in his household when he finds out where she really is?
This series was different but I loved every minute of it, coming from the streets to becoming a pastor but when the past want to interfere with the present you have to do what you have to do. Glad that Gary was able to handle the disorder that Tanisha suffer from that just go's to show you his love was always real. I was so glad when Hasaan off there momma because she got on my last nerves with her desperate self. Hasaan and Serena relationship was crazy from the beginning but through it all you can tell they really loved each other and I'm glad they worked it out. Great job Tina J
Quick read everything is wrapped up and not too far over the top. Really didn’t like the church stuff again, especially with killing in the church, hiding illegal things there and all the other nonsense that was going on. Hate when people do wrong and say they’ll just repent and in this one that seemed to be the main thing going on. Tanisha came out of left field and the reason for her going along with Ruby and even Serena being that out there was a bit much. Overall the story was okay to read.
Did this author struggle with continuity and not have an editor to help with that? Hassan’s last name went from Burns in book 1 to Barnes a few times in the beginning of this, back to Burns. Just one thing I noted. There was other stuff too.
Why do these women have to accept cheaters? Cheating was in every storyline. And it’s so weird how Serena behaved. She broke up with multiple boyfriends because of her mother seducing them, but seriously contemplated messing with Gerald, who slept with her mother on multiple occasions? Does that really make sense?
My final question for this review, is where did these storylines come from? Barely anything is continued from book 1. These are whole new storylines for no reason other than to fill book 2. Tinisha’s storyline is so out of nowhere. Then Gary’s actions were questionable. Why did we need this new character Olivia? Wasn’t Hassan dealing with enough. He was arrested at the end of book 1. It was just out of nowhere. No buildup at all!
I only read book 2 because I was curious about where the author would take this story. I didn’t like it at all. 2 stars because something is there. But I just don’t feel like I should read two whole books and have these questions.
It is truly sad when a mother competes with their daughter and lusting after their men and friends. It was pathetic, grimy and down right pitiful. Ruby got exactly what she deserved; however, she still got off too easy IMHO.
It was a sad state of affairs what Tanisha did to keep her secret and her mom exploited her instead of helping her. She and Serena were best friends and sisters and she still did not confide in her. Did not condone what Gary did but he got it together.
Hassan is still Jekyll and Hyde. He has a past and freaky. Hateful Jackie and her mom got what they deserved, but Hassan was hesitant to handle Jackie. Her mom and the sisters moms were in the same club trying to blackmail and sleep with their daughters men.
This author be having these women go thru the ringer in her books with the constant drama and cheating. This is how all the books I read from her have. I’ve been reading her books out of order and read about most of their children since didn’t realize some of the books are connecting and their parents have books too.
It was a great ending to a great series. Picked up right where the last installment left off with drama and more drama. All these couples were having trust issues, cause without trust there's no relationship;especially, marriage. Hassan, a one point worked my nerves...if it wasn't the ex's, it was sparing the ex. Serena, was fed up and took action. Nish, really had some serious demons, but I love the way Gary stepped up and supported her. Highly recommend this series.Great job Tina J.
Hmmmmm I liked the story up until the whole mental health situation . After that the story was quite weird, how come you leave and don’t even let the doctor talk to you ? I feel the end was kind of rushed the Jackie situation hummmm ok . Other than that it wasn’t that bad at all
The men did nothing but cheat. And the Silly women only forgave them each time. They flipped it on the women and the women was somehow apologizing. One of them was a so called pastor. He called someone else out on their sins but he cheated on Serena, he killed someone, he cursed. Hypocrite.
Spoiler alert! It’s sad that someone didn’t feel comfortable enough to disclose their health issues and it lead to so much drama and pain. Here’s my question…how do you live with and sleep with someone but not have sex with them for an entire year because they’re dirty but can’t resist cheating on your partner with them?
These characters were about to drive me insane!!!…The mothers in this book was crazy to the 5th power!!!… I’m glad they finally got it together and silenced their enemies!!!..
This book was everything. I love me some Has. That man plays no games about my girl! That mother is really crazy and had no shame in her game. She had no problems with coming for her daughters husbands in front of them. I guess Serena reached her breaking point several times because of all the bs and then added drama came into her life. Has had me so mad sometimes and so did Gary! Gary was wrong several times, but I also understood his side of things. He found out things that he would never have guessed. Shoot nobody would have guessed. Nish had some emotional problems that caused her to make stupid decisions! I'm glad that all the couples got it together though. Poor Darryl was a fool when it came to his wife. Rayven most definitely bossed up on him after her talk with the sisters. Lol. This was definitely a great ending!!!!!
Just what kind of "Pastor" was this??? I am just getting to read Ms. Tina's prior works. Ruby... wow what kind of Mother was she?? Tanisha... so much that went on with her, and her judgement, she started off n book 1 with such high standards, but Bi-polar & Schizo, and just being mentally abused for not getting help. Gary was wrong on so many levels, for his cheating, but I think had she been honest, he still would have been there for her. Pastor Hasan, yep his story is so reelevant w/ some pastors of today. He was not playing w/ Serena, nor was Serena playing w/ him when she took matters into her own hands. Jackie & her mama, has anyone heard of getting a job???? Loved This series, only issues, were the Grammatical errors... Work on Editing....
This wasn't your typical love story. Hasaan was a Pastor/Thug lol but he loved him some Serena who wasn't your typical book chick that let a man disrespect her no matter how in love she is with him. Man the mother's in this book had some crazy issues with acting their age and being shots but they got what they deserved. I'm happy everyone got their happy ending even after all the drama that unfolded, through sickness and in health, these couples came out on top.
Hasaan Burns is a man of the cloth torn between protecting his family and leading his flock. How do you continue to be a good pastor and continued to be respected in the streets? Does he figure out the balance? You have to read it to find out. Great read! A different type of Urban Fiction. Why to go Tina J!
What a read this Ratchet pastor and his flock got me rolling on the floor this was imaginative creative and very entertaining now the momma in this book was thots and crazy .....Pastor was slinging the real yoyo I'm glad the STORYLINE had a wonderful conclusion and I was truly entertained great job
Hassan was the man i glad that him and Serena were able to make it with all those problems in the way. Serena mom was crazy how you sleep with your daughter boyfriend i can’t with her. Tanisha should have told her husband about her sickness instead of hiding it. I’m glad they were able to get over that as well. Great ending to a series
This book was good from start to finish. I love the fact that you could relate to the characters. No one is perfect and we all have a past! I would love to read more work form this author.
Has had some crazy ex's. Nisha should of told Gary about her illness. Gary, Has and Darryl are dogs hopefully they learned their lesson. We need a book about Raven and Darryl.
The whole "I'm a pastor now" thing was a little weird to me but this was still a good read. Tanisha was so wrong for letting her mom to that to her man knowing what happened to her sister. These women were crazy!
Absolutely loved this series! It was different than what i expected BUT kept my attention throughout. I loved Hasaan and Serenas relationship, she was a little feisty.. loved that about her! On to the next book
This book pick right where part 1 left off. I was shocked at the secret that came out. I was happy to see that some people gotten exactly what they deserved and other gotten an happy ending.
Ugh even tho Hassan a pastor he had a lot of drama going on. He should’ve got rid of Jackie once she tried to run Serena off the road. Nish should’ve let her husband know what she was dealing with before the wedding. How you keep something so important a secret.
The ending kinda sucked for me I was hoping for more of a insight maybe a year later and the church doing well and her having his son but other than that I loved the book!
I loved the entire story and the couples. I even was excited how he went from a kingpin to a pastor. But I thought the ending should’ve been different that’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Keep the great work
Jackie's mother and Ruby were something else. I would hated to actually see what they were like when they were young. Olivia got on my nerves too glad she got what she deserved. I'm glad that Nisha and Gary were able to find their way back to each other.
Love will make you do some crazy things. A thug/preacher...Who would have thought? But to lay down the LAW OF GOD for that THUG LIFE, I didn't see it coming.
