A secretive cult of elites orchestrated an economic catastrophe known as the Great Debt Crisis. What followed was war, starvation, and the destruction of civilization as we know it. In the ruin, they formed their long-imagined utopia: a one-world, “Unified” global government—ruled by them. In this world, acts of subversion are the highest of crimes and to police it, a superintelligence A.I. named HON monitors the private thoughts of all civilians.
James Duke and his wife Amy are members of an underground revolutionary force who oppose the invasive technocratic rule of the Unified Global Government. Their subversive war takes a bewildering turn when a plague sweeps across the Unified Globe, turning all infected into giggling, undead, cannibals.
Prepare to lose yourself in a world full of bujees and ujees and the only chance of boogie wooging the night away is if Amy and James Duke can lead the underground Serfs to destruction of the Unified Global Government.
I admit I am not a Sci-Fi lover but this book had me HOOKED. It's a perfect blend of Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds meets Stephen King.
At first this book can be a lot to take in but Greenfield does a fine job of seamlessly submerging you into a world where microchips, brain control, and the SANDMAN are threatening the freedom and well being of the UGG's. A world where the globalist government has the ability to control the thoughts and actions of citizens all while racing to develop an antidote to ward off the deadly PRP6 which has ujees and bujees giggling and cannibalizing all over the streets of Chicago. You will hang on every word to find out how Amy and James try to escape the seemingly sinking city to give birth to their illegally conceived child.
