In a bleak future, where government systems are breaking down, and poverty and violence reign, Rose wakes from a horrific ordeal, only to find that aliens have taken over Earth while she was unconscious. One of them claimed her as his breeder, and now she has to resist her attraction to the alien who buys her frilly dresses and calls her his breeder. She also needs to find a way to rescue her colleagues and country from the Zyrgin invaders.
There's a lot of repetition in this story. He calls her breeder, she doesn't want to be his breeder and so it goes. She keeps saying she's an agent he continuously describes how inept she is, even by earth standards. She has the delusional view of how great of an agent she is and he indulges her superficially. She doesn't realize she's being patted on the head, and speaking of her head. Let us not forget the hair that she never seems to wash, oil or comb but is always ready for a fresh new style from her outer worldly paramour. Yeah, okay. Admittedly this is likely my fault. I saw a paranormal with a POC and I fell for it.
Rose is different than the other women in the series. She was training to be a government agent, and wants to actively fight to get the Zyrgins off Earth. Zarn claims her as his breeder . Rose and Zarn get closer to each other as they later search for rebels who plan to di grst harm to both Zygrins and humans. There is surprise in the story.
I enjoyed the book. It was fairly long and kept me entertained the whole time. The main character Rose is an agent wakes up to find that the world has been taken over by aliens, and that the alien Zanr has designated her as his "breader". She now has to figure out how to escape the alien, find her coworkers, and rescue the world. No small feat. Definitely a book I recommend.
At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about this couple but as I continue reading I began to like them. I love how the Zyrgin warriors are becoming accustomed to human trait and habits. Good story
