What would you do if your ex got abducted?
Remember, they're an ex for a reason. So let's assume you hate them from the depths of your soul.

Line up the tequila shots, right?

Not your problem?

Now stay with me for a second. What if you were the ONLY person who could save their life? Then would you save them? We are talking about another human being's life, after all.

Now, imagine you have seven million dollars in your bank account. Sweet, right?

It's seven million dollars or your ex's life.

This is a judgment-free zone. Be honest. You'd keep the seven million dollars. Am I right?

Yeah, me too.

So, I'm Drunk.

I hate my ex.

And I have seven million dollars in my bank account.

You do the math.

My buddy Al and I are back once again for another Caribbean flavored misadventure. There's more action, more adventure, more profanity, and more ass-kicking.

Rated R for language, crude humor, and sexual innuendos. Rated A+ for entertainment value.

**Word to the wise...while this story can stand on its own two feet, it'll make more sense if you start with my first story, Drunk on a Plane.

Book two in the chronicles of Danny Drunk continues to bring the laughs as he falls into one unfortunate situation after another. This time he finds himself targeted by kidnappers who have abducted his cheating ex-fiancée. His first instinct is to let them kill the silly cow but his nobler instincts do eventually kick in and a rescue is planned... He’s growing as a person, he really is!

I really enjoyed this one and was surprised how much I already care about the supporting cast. 4.5 stars, rounded down because it will annoy my wife that I didn’t give it 5 and I like to live dangerously. ;-D

Another page turner that kept me hooked. Of course, in this 2nd book of the series, Drunk is still far away from being politically correct or being less sexist...but there seems to be some hope for improvement in future installments.

Totally awesome!!! I had such a blast reading this new title in the Drunk series. Not only did this story really put the main character to the test but he was introduced to a whole new group of people, that I hope to learn more about in later books. The other thing I have to say I absolutely love in these titles is the friendship Drunk has with the super awesome Al. I highly recommend this title and the series so much. Proof of how great I think it is, is me buying all three in the series, and getting ready to purchase book four. I really hope this author gets a nice following of fans and one of them happens to be a film producer :)

This one tops the first in the series, Drunk on a Plane. It did give me an incentive to add a new bookshelf titled “Shit Show” because every time Drunk tries to take care of a situation on his own, without involving the police, it turns into said shit show. In this story, we spend a lot more time with Drunk’s cop friend, Francesca Cruz, and we meet her 5 brothers and her Great Dane, Hugo. I did miss the group of old guys, Al’s friends, from the previous book. Hopefully they make an appearance in the next one, which I will definitely be reading. If you’re looking for a fun book that is far from politically correct, you’ll love these!

Def better than the last one imo, not necessarily story-wise but the author's thoughts/narration were much better. It's written in first person & I almost couldn't get through the first half of the first book in the series bc the protagonist was so narcissistic and thought he was the best thing ever created.. It was like having to listen to a friend talk about how awesome they are for five hours straight.

Luckily, as the series has progressed, the author has eased up much on that and has become more likeable. It makes for a good easy beach read. The setting (Caribbean resort) is the main reason it keeps me entertained as its not near as humorous or action-packed of a book as I typically like to read. I'll continue the series but not for a while.

I don't understand the cover art thought? Danny Drunk (main character) is always talking about his long hair that he's running his hands through or some shit, but the guy on the cover obviously has a shaved head. I'll end on that note.

Drunk on a boat is as clever as Drunk was on a plane: That is to say, he is the same foul-mouthed, often crass and misplaced-chivalrous character he was in the first of this series, and about as predictable. With his new sidekick, Al - the ringleader of a geriatric gang that hangs out in the club house of Drunk's new residence at the Paradise resort he calls home - Drunk gets into a multi-million dollar hassle with a couple of fortune hunters over his ex, Pam, from the first book, and things quickly get out of hand and out of the realm of credibility. It's the macho form of a fantasy romantic comedy, with boats exploding and guns blazing and people being delivered to the cops in chains bearing spear-gun wounds, but all in a day for the hard-drinking, hard-screwing, fast-living Drunk.... The novel can get pretty tedious for all this, but it engages an afternoon. The characters are well-drawn and realized, and strangely likable - enough so that I find myself irresistibly drawn, without being exactly thrilled about it, to the next Drunk in the series...

Drunk, perhaps the most aptly named character in all of literature (yes it’s his real name), is a lovable, womanizing, degenerate given to private and public Bacchanals, currently residing on an island named Paradise.
His rationale for such a lifestyle is classic – a broken heart; in this case a fiancé named Pam, who slept with her ex on the night before their wedding.
When Pam arrives in Paradise, it sets off a chain of tragicomic events which ultimately lead to an epiphany of sorts for Drunk, after leading the reader through a rollicking jumble of pathos, mystery, soul searching, and humor.
Mitchell’s cast of distinct, well-drawn characters inhabiting Paradise with Drunk are a delight to behold, carrying this wonderful tale to its logically illogical conclusion to the joy of the reader.
If you like a well-told tale, nicely drawn characters, action, humor, and of course, drunken antics; this is the book for you.

Danny Drunk must be a much better person then me, because he is willing to go thru a whole bunch of shit and possibly loose a couple million bucks save his ex's life. And this is AFTER she shows up at his new job and puts a major cramp in his style.

Book #2 in the Drunk in Paradise series and its just as good if not better then the 1st. It has a tad bit more action and a much more annoying villain as well

Just ok for book two

The book was ok but i was disappointed because the first book was so good and funny. Drunk on a Boat wasn't very funny and it was clear as day who the bad guy was and irritating that it took so long to get too the end. Zane you should have stopped at page 75 with this book, but I'll give the third book a try and see if you got any of the mojo back.

I love historical events like this.
Boats and historical events are what make me love reading. Could you please share the sequel books of your series?

In fact, even though I started reading very late, I'm getting more and more immersed every day.

It is a great chance to read the books of important authors. I know that. I'm looking forward to your new books.

I am writing the importance of reading a book here for friends who want to read this book. I hope it will benefit sellers and customers...

Are the top 10 benefits of reading for all ages:

1. Reading Exercises the Brain

While reading, we have to remember different characters and settings that belong to a given story. Even if you enjoy reading a book in one sitting, you have to remember the details throughout the time you take to read the book. Therefore, reading is a workout for your brain that improves memory function.

2. Reading is a Form of (free) Entertainment

Did you know that most of the popular TV shows and movies are based on books? So why not indulge in the original form of entertainment by immersing yourself in reading. Most importantly, it’s free with your Markham Public Library card.

3. Reading Improves Concentration and the Ability to Focus

We can all agree that reading cannot happen without focus and in order to fully understand the story, we have to concentrate on each page that we read. In a world where gadgets are only getting faster and shortening our attention span, we need to constantly practice concentration and focus. Reading is one of the few activities that requires your undivided attention, therefore, improving your ability to concentrate.

4. Reading Improves Literacy

Have you ever read a book where you came across an unfamiliar word? Books have the power to improve your vocabulary by introducing you to new words. The more you read, the more your vocabulary grows, along with your ability to effectively communicate. Additionally, reading improves writing skills by helping the reader understand and learn different writing styles.

5. Reading Improves Sleep

By creating a bedtime routine that includes reading, you can signal to your body that it is time to sleep. Now, more than ever, we rely on increased screen time to get through the day. Therefore, by setting your phone aside and picking up a book, you are telling your brain that it is time to quiet down. Moreover, since reading helps you de-stress, doing so right before bed helps calm your mind and anxiety and improve the quality of sleep.

6. Reading Increases General Knowledge

Books are always filled with fun and interesting facts. Whether you read fiction or non-fictions, books have the ability to provide us with information we would’ve otherwise not known. Reading a variety of topics can make you a more knowledgeable person, in turn improving your conversation skills.

7. Reading is Motivational

By reading books about protagonists who have overcome challenges, we are oftentimes encouraged to do the same. The right book can motivate you to never give up and stay positive, regardless of whether it’s a romance novel or a self-help book.

Drunk, who now holds the position of head of security at the Paradise resort, finds himself in a challenging predicament. Despite his role, he's not exactly at the top of his game. To add to the complexity of the situation, his ex-fiance unexpectedly shows up, causing him further problems. On top of that, he has a new girlfriend and his close friend Al isn't making things any easier for him.
As Drunk grapples with his personal life and tries to cope with his own struggles, mainly giving his liver the third degree, an unfortunate turn of events occurs. His ex, Pam, gets kidnapped, prompting Drunk to delve into the matter. However, in the midst of this investigation, his focus gets divided, leading to more distress when his girlfriend, Mack, and even Al become victims of kidnapping as well.
The security measures at the resort seem to be insufficient, exposing vulnerabilities that one could liken to a plastic bag filled with three porcupines in other words full of holes. It appears that there must have been a kidnapper's convention happening within the resort, with a special emphasis on orchestrating multiple abductions simultaneously.
Amidst the chaos and mayhem, Drunk joins forces with Cruz in a daring attempt to save the day and bring an end to the series of kidnappings. Their mission unfolds in a roller-coaster of events, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as they follow their gripping journey on a boat, you know Drunk on a boat.

I am not particularly sure if I liked the book. I though Daniel Drunk was an overgrown boy, immature at the 20- or 30-something age he is. He found his fiance, (much earlier than this story) in bed with her ex- the night before their wedding. He takes off to their honeymoon locale alone and ends up staying, working as head of security at a hotel. She shows up, not to plead they reunite, to say she is sorry and hopes he can forgive her. She is kidnapped and will he do what he must do to save her?

Okay, there is a definite change in the main character. But he still had not changed, into a grown adult although he is likable enough.

it's the second book so hopefully, Drunk will mature in the future and still be a likable character.

Not my book, I guess. But maybe I will reread it and appreciate it more. That has happened.

Daniel Drunk is an interesting character and Zane Mitchell has the talent to concoct a fun story. They're fun, fairly simple reads.
But I really hope he takes some of the money he's earned and hires a good editor because several things in there make the editor in me crazy.
He refers to people as "that" instead of "who."
He uses "towards" instead of "toward."
He uses "between" when he should be "among."
And though it isn't a grammar issue, Drunk's favorite drink is Dr Pepper - except he uses a period after "Dr" and the soft drink doesn't have one.
I'm going to read another one because they are fun stories and pretty fast reads. But if I grit my teeth much harder, they're going to break.

Maybe it's summer and they take place on an island, but I really enjoy the tales of Daniel Drunk. He is an imperfect former cop, often drunk as he wallows in the anger/grief of a broken relationship and somehow finds himself deep in being the victim of bad guys. This time, his hated former fiancée show up uninvited then gets kidnapped. Drunk and his octogenarian buddy try to find her and thwart the kidnappers, who are after his money (which was acquired in the first novel). Somehow they succeed but only after several failed attempts.

Book #2 of the series. It's good that a lot of the same characters from the first book were still there to help fight the villains. Unfortunately, it became too much of a drag and so tedious when the effort the author made to provide Drunk with a girlish, emotional element. Yes, there are humorous moments, but some were in the wrong instances eg still wise-cracking when he really should have been pissing his pants.

Another Caribbean Adventure

The ex-fiancée appears at the resort, uninvited, unbidden and unwelcome. Someone who knows about Drunk’s “finders keepers” windfall kidnaps the ex and demands the entirety of the windfall - plus - to return her.

Character development continues and although the cash is lost, only the miscreants dealt their fate, although some pain and suffering (as well as some physical damage) ensues.

Boy, these are fun books!

If you are offended by slightly vulgar language and drunks, these are not the books for you. I am finding them highly entertaining, well written, and thank you Lord, well edited. Drunk, the protagonist, doesn't always make the best decisions, but he is making friends that help him along. Will his womanizing days wane now that he's found the pretty cop? Missing exes, fingers in boxes? Excitement abounds.

laugh out loud

I read the first book “Drunk on a Plane” and I found myself laughing out loud at the Danny Drunk character. This book was a fun read and I fell in love with the character Al! So I decided to read the second book “The Misadventures of a Drunk in Paradise” I found in this book the characters more developed and Danny still experiencing his amusing antics. I look forward to reading the third book in this series. I hope this review helps with the college tuition!!

Don’t read this if you didn’t read the first book.
The man has 7 million dollars and is afraid of hurting his bosses feelings by going to the cops????
That was my only problem with the book. Everything else was believable in a fictional sort of way.
Still very entertaining and fun! First day was slow reading because of above said. After that it was a fun page turner that I finished the next day.

Glad I found this series

About to start on book 3 of the Drunk series and highly recommend it. The humor and action are the perfect blend and I feel that, like myself, you will find the characters to seem like old friends. We could all use a trip to the tropics with a bartender like Manny waiting for us with advice and an endless supply of comped drinks. Can't wait to see where Zane takes us next

I lost a night's sleep engrossed in this storry.

Wonderful characters. fast paced story. Good plot. Jilted Danny Drunk is visited by his ex fiance. Leading to several kidnappings. The loss of an appendage. Blown up boats. Officer Cruz's brother being very unhappy with Danny having to do with destroyed boats and their concern that their baby sister is in danger because of Danny. Good humor along with fast paced story.

Enjoyable beach read.

Drunk's growing up some, and that's a good thing. Book one, he was not a fun hero guy. Now, if Zane would realize that it's "all right" and not "alright", I could read these books without my anal editor's quirk kicking in every other page. I'm starting #3 now, so I guess it's all right.

Another hit

Having read the first two Drunk books with Drunk getting into hot water firstly on a plane then on a boat, I can't wait to see what adventures he gets into in a car! These are fun books with great characters and a good story line with lots of excitement and plenty of laughs thrown in.

Drunk evolves.

A good read for all of us looking to find peace and quiet by getting away from it all. Daniel Drunk flees the states but there is no peace and little quiet only adventure and chaos. I’m glad that this second book shows the lead character taking steps to emerge from the self inflicted chaos around him but not so much that we lose the reason we read.

Drunk on a Boat is a real fun read. It is about a man named Drunk that should tell you a lot about the book. The ending was a lot different than I expected ! It was easy to follow unlike a lot of books that I have recently read. To many people in a book makes it hard to follow. I will definitely read every book in this series. You have to laugh at this crazy guy !!
