It takes a lot of work and dedication to make dojinshi manga - unfortunately, Najimi is in denial and decides to go to the beach and blow off all her deadlines. She''s in her own world and is undeservedly acting like a diva. But it takes a lot more than selling 30 copies to become a manga superstar! Read all about the seedy, scary, nerdy underworld of fan-made comics in Volume 3 of Dojin Work!
Part of my problem with the previous volume was that the lolicon jokes in it were just overdone & when something's overdone it tends to stop being funny. As you know, when lolicon jokes aren't funny they tend to just get stupid and/or creepy. Luckily this volume brought back a lot of what made that first volume so much fun to read.
This volume has a lot of stuff to laugh at such as Najimi joining forces with Kaneru in an attempt to rivalry aside in order to put out an anthology for (hopefully) more sales & readers. There's also a new character introduced in this volume, Hoshi's bishie brother Ryuichiro- a guy who is absolutely convinced that just Najimi is in love with him (because she shook his hand).
I really had a lot of fun reading this volume & it really did restore my interest in the series & showed that this strip can be more than just a one note & worn out gag strip. I loved the new additions & while there was a lot of lolicon jokes in this volume, none of them were overdone & the volume actually brought a new level to just about everyone in the series.
So if your interest dropped off after the last volume like mine did, give this third volume a chance- it might just re-interest you in the series.
This one was OK, it starts to ramp up to good then it just falls like a coaster. THey also snuck in the homophobic "joke" of turning a gay person straight.
