“There was somebody else there tonight. They got at least two of the Wolves, and they also got the same thing I was after.”

In the wake of his most recent encounter with the Wolves, Kyle Clady decides a new tact is needed. For as satisfying as slowly extracting his revenge might be, it isn’t what his wife would want.

And it is getting him no closer to answering why she was targeted in the first place.

Going back to the last known point of emphasis he has, he begins to come at things from a new angle. He aligns himself with new allies, speaking with the local churches and politicians, all while trying to avoid the watchful eyes of the police, the Wolves, and a dangerous new adversary he never considered.

Taken together, it sends him down paths he never considered, taking him perilously close to place he never would have imagined…

I originally hail from the midwest, growing up in the heart of farm country, and still consider it, along with West Tennessee, my co-home. Between the two, I have a firm belief that football is the greatest of all past-times, sweet tea is really the only acceptable beverage for any occasion, there is not an event on earth that either gym shorts or boots can't be worn to, and that Dairy Queen is the best restaurant on the planet. Further, southern accents are a highly likeable feature on most everybody, English bulldogs sit atop the critter hierarchy, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Saturday night spent catfishing at the lake.

Since leaving the midwest I've been to college in New England, grad school in the Rockies, and lived in over a dozen different cities ranging from DC to Honolulu along the way. Each and every one of these experiences has shaped who I am at this point, a fact I hope is expressed in my writing. I have developed enormous affinity for locales and people of every size and shape, and even if I never figure out a way to properly convey them on paper, I am very much grateful for their presence in my life.

To sum it up, I asked a very good friend recently how they would describe me for something like this. Their response: "Plagued by realism and trained by experiences/education to be a pessimist, you somehow remain above all else an active dreamer." While I can't say those are the exact words I would choose, I can't say they're wrong. I travel, live in different places, try new foods, meet all kinds of different people, and above all else stay curious to a fault.

Here's hoping it continues to provide us all with some pretty good stories...

Absolutely intriguing with loads of suspense. Kyle has his hands full after his wife is murdered. Revenge is the name of the game but his wouldn’t want that. I was completely engrossed with the action and the characters.

One of the most difficult things for an author writing a series is to grab the reader’s imagination and interest as the story begins - and then keep it as the series unfolds. Dustin Stevens has nailed it with the My Mira series.

Warning Shot catapulted me back into the My Mira series - which continues at breakneck speed. We pick up at just 10 days after Kyle Cady’s wife, Mira, is murdered in Balboa Park. The reason why remains unknown but a widening fog of evil spreads her death.

Kyle, with his SEAL crew, continues pushing ahead for answers while subplots are a growing minefield. Kyle’s character is explored in some new directions with flashback sequences giving readers insights into his intimate past with Mira. Readers feel the pain of loss that both haunts and drives him.

The Wolves outlaw motorcycle gang searches for Kyle using blunt force without strategy and hampered by their internal power struggles - that hit critical mass. Ringer and Byrdie finally go toe-to-toe. Ringer keeps Alpha status - but he leaves an enemy alive.

The immigrants from Micronesia emerge as central to the mystery as more connections to Mira and the helpful doctor emerge. There are more questions than answers and with the gruesome murder of the doctor one trail grows cold - but help seems to flicker from an on the run former priest for the small immigrant congregation becomes knownto Kyle.

Elsa Teller continues as dispassionate evil incarnate. She manages to stay below everyone’s radar while directing Sven the Assassin to remove people like brushing crumbs from the table.

Stevens is masterful at building tension in the series and amps it up in this segment. Antagonist groups are each in their own vortex and anytime they touch there are explosions of violence. When the Wolves, Sven, and the outcast Byrdie all converge there are fewer players on the board and fresh surprises.

Detective Marsh continues to circle the original case and the warring groups. Originally convinced that Kyle killed Mira and it was an open and shut case now believes a bigger game is afoot. He suspects Kyle may be involved with the wrecking crew inflicting pain on the Wolves but before he can act more battered bodies show up at the emergency room.

Read This Series

I just read this series and I can't wait for the next book.I accidentally read this book 1st and got hooked. When I realized it was book 5 I had to go back and read the others and this one again. I love the way this book goes from present to past and has many sub stories going on with the main story. I still don't know the reason for the murder. That fact makes this series tweak my interest more with each book.

If you want to read a mystery that you can't t figure out right away, read this one. I have figured out pieces, but still don't know what Mira has to do with it.

Dustin, this series is well written and intriguing. You've got a winner with this series. Hurry with book six.

I received this book as an ARC copy, in exchange for proof reading it and an honest review.
As this series continues the characters continue to evolve, we learn more about Kyle the soldier and Mira before they were married, after college. Also the other characters and how they are all beginning to fit in to the story. More details on the Wolves and why Mira was involved in the situation leading to her death. We are gradually finding out some of the reasons behind Mira's death, but still do not know enough to reach any conclusions. I enjoyed this series so much I recommended it to my wife and now she is hooked too. I am eagerly awaiting book 6!!

Steven's does it again!

This is the 5th book in the My Mira Series.
Dustin has once again nailed the ending, making the reader crave the next book in the series.
I won't tell you much about the series, only that you need to read the books in the order they are written in order to understand what is transpiring.
Dustin is a writer that captures your attention and his books always leave you wanting more.
I highly recommend this book and all the other series he has written.
I can't wait for Battle Cry...book 6!

Kyle seems to have miles to go before discovering the mystery behind his wife's murder. Continuing to search for clues, reasons, and connections, he also has to still report for his psych evaluation to complete his Naval/Seal discharge process, appear for questioning by the police on the various crimes that are interlaced with her murder. And all the while avoiding the biker gang that is out for his blood.

Another "episode" you won't be able to put down. Kyle is still trying to uncover why his wife Mira was killed, and continues looking into Mira's past work as social worker with Valerie's help and her church connections. Rivalry escalates inside the Wolves gang in the fight for leadership. The police discovers and starts investigating the death of Dr. Hoke while Sven gets his orders for a second murder and ends in a cross-fire with the Wolves.

This book is good. Not as good as some of his other series, but enjoyable nonetheless. However, I was disappointed that the 5th book is not the last one (as Amazon led me to believe) The reason for the 4 stars is all the fluff - memories of Mira comprise a large portion of all of these books and are without any relevance to the plot as far as I can tell. After book 3 I just started skipping past them - which means that without the fluff, each book is only about a two-hour read.

Hooked

Dustin Stevens has really out did himself with this series. The characters in this series are really well presented, from the many bad guys, the detectives and their helpers to all the good guys around the main character. An interested reader really needs to start from the beginning and live with the Whole experience. It is a very rare occurrence when I ever look forward to rereading a complete series, but I do look forward to doing that. This series is a must read.

My Mira Saga 5

This book sorta stumped me. It was more about the inevitable fighting and the fighters trying to figure out who, what, when and why. No one really seems to understand what the initial fighting has Beene about. They definitely don’t know who they are actually fighting for and they certainly don’t understand just what the heck is going on!! Can not wait for to start the next story!!!

Kyle Cladey, a former naval seal, continues his search for his wife's killer. Dr Brendan Hoke is also murdered. What is the connection to Mira, Kyle's wife? The Wolves, a motorcycle gang plays a role in this continuing saga. There is a gun fight that Ringer, the Wolves leader, takes part in. Ringer only takes part when he feels it is an easy target. An action packed page turning thriller.

Amazing book. Fifth one in the series, is a continuous story about Kyle, ex navy seal. This book follows him trying to piece together why his wife was murdered- he knows why did but needs to figure who is really calling the shots. The story is very fast paced and addicting. Couldn't put it down, before I knew it, I was done.

The Mira Adventure Continues

Warning: this book is not a free-standing story but a continuation of the action from the previous books in the series. The writing is superb, and the characters are real and unique. The book ably demonstrates the professionalism of the author. I can always count on enjoying a book when I see he is the author

Appears all the author wants to do is sell his next book by not completing the story. No more for me. I don't want to play that game.
I also found that he used every word he could to expand a description of person, thing, place etc. I got frustrated and skipped the description to get to the story. I know he has written better books but the Mira Saga books aren't worth my time.

I hope this is the last

I do like this story but I hope it is the last time one story takes up so many books. I’ve finished 5 of 6. There is, in my opinion, too much repetition in books 2, 3, 4 and 5. It seems like repeating was done to make the books a bit longer. It wasn’t necessary. Just make it one longer book, please.

Cut me to the bone this was so intense!! Getting even was never more insane, although it may become more in the next couple of books. Couple of big surprises that I didn't expect. And even though Kyle thinks he's getting somewhere I think he has a long way to go. This series should not be missed read all of it!!! So worth it!!!

I enjoyed book 5 much more than book 4! To me the writing is clearer and more focused; back on par with the first few books. As always these do not really work well as a standalone read because there is a continuing background given in each book.
