The fourth book in the Valla series delivers. It delivers action, romance, tension, drama, a few sad moments, and brand new twists. An easy but compelling read; I read the majority of it in two days. I highly recommend this book and this entire series.
I couldn’t wait for this book to come out after reading the rest of the series. It did not disappoint me although I was very nervous in a couple spots. I found myself yelling at the author, “No don’t let that happen,” then being relieved at the next turn. I love Emily and her people but could not see how this story would end well. The weaving of the different characters and their personal battles in the midst of the larger battle kept me wondering who to trust and how it would end. There are some steamy scenes as passion and tension grows. Even a few surprise relationships along the way. If you have loved these books, you will definitely want to give this one a read. If you haven’t started the Valla series, start with book one, Unraveling Emily, and read them all. You will be surprised at how quickly you get through them. Never a dull moment. Kudos to this new author for publishing 5 books and a novella in ONE year. I think we’ll be reading her books for years to come.
Oh what a battle scene! Loved how this story unfolded. I was on the edge of my seat at times and only put the book down when my baby needed a diaper change 😆 or a burp. I don’t want to give anything away but the new ‘characters’ that show up in battle are so well described and I felt like I could not only envision them but was living it out alongside Emily, Lathe, Deja & Patrick. Highly recommend!
