Dani Wilder only intended to go to a fundraiser and donate money to a worthy cause. She had no idea that she’d meet the love of her life that night. There were only a couple of problems with that chance meeting. Dani had a boyfriend. That chance meeting – it was with Peyton Gloss, the world’s most famous music star, who also happened to be a woman.

Peyton had only planned on performing that night. When she’d seen the most beautiful woman in the world in the crowd, she had to talk to her. Dani Wilder was a beautiful, kind, smart supermodel, who also happened to have a boyfriend. When the two women spend time together, though, it’s clear to both of them that this is more than merely a close friendship.

In this prequel to “All the Love Songs,” find out what happened the night these two met, and discover how their relationship began.

If you’ve been my GR friend for a long time, you would know that Nicole Pyland is one of my favorite authors ! I think she is so underrated!

I was just having a conversation with a couple of my friends who happen to be brilliant reviewers as well and was surprised that they haven’t read much of her work!

I’m really enjoying this series.. I think this is one of my fav books actually from Pyland’s work ..

Not only do I recommend this book, I strongly recommend this author!

P.s: sometimes, it’s so much fun when you can review a book that isn’t an ARC!

Another p.s: Happy Ramadan!

This book is a prequel, written after the first in the series, but situated before it in timeline. I have no idea if it functions as one (the best are written such that it rewards having read them in publishing order) as I read it in timeline-order.

Can I just say how much I dislike this cover? It's a marketing travesty and does absolutely nothing to convey how light-hearted and fun the story is. I mean, it's not going to be for everybody because the wish-fulfillment is ramped to eleven and the protagonists are super-successful and incredibly cute while at it. They're essentially untouched by their fame and riches and, while that made them relatable and this story an engaging one (for me), it isn't going to be for everyone. And while the cover blurb goes a long way to correcting for that awful cover, I can't help but think that the dissonance between the two is preventing this book from reaching its natural audience.

And yes, I was fully engaged in the story and loved being along for Dani and Peyton. And it doesn't hurt that Peyton is an obvious analog for Taylor Swift (who I adore, judge me if you must), though with the serial numbers filed off. I loved how open and friendly Peyton is, even though she has learned to be wary of exploitation. I loved getting to know her family and seeing how she had to assert herself a bit in that context, even though she was so in-charge in the rest of her life. And I loved how her kindness was a manifestation of her strength of character.

Dani was nearly as engaging, though I worried about her starting off the story with a long-term boyfriend. I was glad that Richard didn't have to be evil (or even bad, really) to be wrong for her (as most authors would have been tempted to portray). I was worried that she'd be a waffler and that the boyfriend thing would play out beyond reason so it was nice that it didn't.

There are some weaknesses to the story that stand out, so don't think it's all wine and roses (though there's those, too). The first is the love-at-first-sight aspect of these two falling in love. Neither has been with another woman before so it's pretty much out of the blue for them. And yet both are self-possessed enough to trust those feelings of longing, attraction, and affection and run with the conclusion that there's "something there". They're a bit tentative to start, particularly Peyton in the face of Dani's boyfriend. But that doesn't draw out long and since they're each powerful in their own rights, and have the confidence that comes with that fact, they don't waste a lot of time with self-doubt. I actually liked this as an aspect of the insta-love, but that's only after just accepting the assertion of their suitability/attraction/"your my person" etc.

The second most obvious flaw is that the characterization was a bit weak. I had a hard time distinguishing them from one another based on anything but their respective jobs. I'm not confident enough to assert this as an author problem (it could totally be me) but all the way to the last I had to remind myself that Dani was the tall supermodel and Peyton the Taylor Swift stand-in.

Others might find the lack of overt conflict harder to swallow, but I actually enjoyed that more than a little. Indeed, I braced myself for a dark moment in the last quarter because by that time, they had established such a rapport that I couldn't see one coming that'd actually work at all. I'm glad to report that Pyland wasn't so gauche as to manufacture one and I really liked how their relationship progressed in that steady way that still felt like it'd be lasting.

And here's the thing, I'm going to give it all five stars, even though I know it doesn't really deserve more than four. Look, those aren't small weaknesses above. I just didn't care, I was so engaged with the story. I'm allowed to be shallow like that. Right?

A note about Steamy: There were three or four explicit sex scenes that put this on the high side of the middle of my steam tolerance. The first was exactly what it needed to be with their mutual inexperience, though again, idealized as the rest of the story was. The last was, frankly, gratuitous and I skipped it entirely (as opposed to skimming it).

Every book I read, I am hoping it will be one of those big ones that stay with you. You know the ones, the books that as soon as you finish it, you want to read it again. I love a good book but I am always on the hunt for a great one. Thanks to Nicole Pyland I found a great one. No After You is an amazing read. This is one I have read once and no without a doubt I will read again.

Peyton Gloss is a mega superstar. Think T-Swift big. She is performing one night at a charity function and meets supermodel Dani Wilder. From the moment these two meet, there are sparks and there is chemistry. It jumps off the page, you know it, they know it and it makes for one hell of a good story. One big problem, Dani is currently dating a tech mogul, named Steven. As much a Peyton wishes for more, she becomes Dani's friend.

What you get is a slow burn, friends to lover romance that sweet and sexy. I had no expectations going in but let me tell you loved every dang page. This one was soooo good. I cannot recommend this one enough. I am new to Nicole Pyland's work but not for long I am ready to binge read all her stuff.

Well, I gave Melissa Brayden's latest three stars and looks like it's happening to another one of my faves. I just...maybe I'm in a mood, but while Nicole Pyland, like Brayden, writes engaging content, I start rating more keenly when I know something's not their best. And this one isn't bad, but I know what peak Pyland can do.

As if my fawning, dramatic 5-star review of All the Love Songs weren't obvious enough, the second book of this series is everything to me. It was actually written first, but Nicole Pyland is awesome and swooping in and adding more content to her world. For Lennox and Kenzie, I'd lay down my fictional life. But even in their amazing book, Peyton and Dani gave me a medium amount of interest.

I'm glad I got to learn more about them and their backstory, but I didn't find them as compelling as Lennox + Kenzie, unfortunately. The love story is sweet and I love the pleasure of knowing in advance that everything works out, but I don't know...I think the connection and slow burn to love could've hit me more strongly.

It's romantic, it's low-drama and low-stress, and there are some quotable bits. Don't let my All The Love Songs supremacy deter you from diving into their love story. This one has sort of double-toaster-oven thing going on for the couple, which is cool.

Oh, and will you get a nice amount of sex, though, after the slow burn? You betcha. Woo!

I can't wait for what comes out next!

This was a nice love story between Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss. Oups my bad : between Peyton Gloss and Dani Wilder. It’s instant connection between them but they both think themselves as straight. Dani was in an unhappy relationship and I felt as sorry for her boyfriend that I was annoyed by him. What I liked is none of them are in denial and knew from the start that what they had was special and beyond friendship, with the perfect amount of gay panic. They are really sweet together and have chemistry. Their biggest challenge was Dani having a boyfriend. Then you get to folllow the natural evolution of their relationship and how they deal with their relationship, in addition to their busy lives. I like it better when there is more angst or dramatic twist to really grab my attention and for me be more invested, but if you are in the mood for something rather light, sweet and uncomplicated this book is for you. If you are Gaylor stan, this book should definitely satisfy your deepest fantasies if you change the names in your head.

3.5 stars. This was a very enjoyable celebrities romance.

What was actually refreshing was that both mains were professional and started young in their respective jobs (Dani startet modeling as a baby, and Peyton started her singing career in coutry as a teen). I also liked that they'd both never even kissed a woman. That made it more believable, especially with the changing POVs. They have an instant attraction, but it's also pretty instalove, all in the span of about eight months.

I liked Peyton going for it head first. Her writing song after song about Dani was really sweet. Also Dani was very likeable. At 23, she's two years younger than Peyton, and she's a little more insecure. They're really sweet together and I liked that the conflict had nothing to do with their coming out - Dani and especially Peyton coming out to their fans isn't even really mentioned. (I could have lived with them having any other interests than sex though)

What I didn't like so much was the whole package of the audiobook. I felt that the story would have benefitted more from a different narrator. I liked the reading voice and pace, but I couldn't hear any difference in the voices of Dani and Peyton, which made it a bit hard to follow. Plus, I personally found the cover of the book not appealing at all and it made me almost not choose this book as I couldn't bring it together with the plot (and I still can't)... It seems kinda out of time. Not sure this is intended.

One other minor down was actually the writing. While I really loved the story, I felt the writing wasn't very mature yet (in lack of a better word). One example is that especially Peyton is constantly "laughing", e.g. "[insert dialog here], she laughed", but it's also Dani. It was really weird.

But all in all, I really enjoyed this book and I would read another book by the author.

I'm not really impressed by this one. I just don't particularly like either if the MCs and the storyline isn't all that immersive either. At least not to me. something just didn't click. But it isn't a bad book, just not one for me.
Pyland's works are like that to me. Either I love the book or I slightly dislike it. There's basically no in-between.

This is a true love at first sight romance. If you read All The Love Songs then you will want to read how Peyton and Dani meet and fell in love. This very little angst in this story which is nice. You get to experience their first time having feelings for another woman. It is truly one of the best love stories. I love Nicole’s work. I hope we see more of the people from All The Love Songs.

I received this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

So here's that old paradox: a novel that engrosses and entertains, but which, in part, is actually written rather clumsily at the prose level. In the first part of the book in particular the irritating flaws stood out and I was tempted to stop reading, but at some point the sexual tension and interplay of character took over and I happily finished the book, even though I continued to find aspects of the author's writing style pretty annoying. For a start, there is the odd habit of starting sentences with 'Then' or 'So' followed by a comma. But the writerly tic that really irritated me was the frequent habit of completely unnecessarily referring to one or other of the two main characters as 'the woman' instead of 'she' or by name. If this was done occasionally it might be OK, if rather weird - it does, after all, create a sense of uneasy distance from the character - but when it occurs several times on a page it stands out glaringly.

At its worst, the prose tends to be awkward and banal, but Pyland is clearly doing something right. I love the idea in this series of presenting the story of each person in a group of friends and I'll certainly be picking up another in the series soon.

Two not so straight ladies, Dani and Peyton, who fell for each other; One’s a model and the other a singer. Celebrity romance at its best? Maybe. Cliche? Ya, perhaps. Hot sexy scene? Hmmm... Yes? At the end of it all, it’s a really sweet love-at-first-sight story... I liked it.

I am a fan of this author, I'm glad she went back & did this prequel to her all the love songs book. Also, based on the ending there's a blurb about sequel to this series.

This focuses on Dani (supermodel) & Peyton (singer/songwriter) & their eventual coupling. Peyton's character seems to be quasi based on Taylor Swift. This is a cute story & is free on kindle unlimited.

I played with the idea of giving this 5 stars but there were some things that bothered me, so I decided against it.

I actually really enjoyed the spice in this, although it got a little much at the end.
I would have rather liked them doing something else in the epilogue.
Especially because I felt like the book could have been longer.
It didn't really feel like the end, there were a lot of things that could have been added or just written in more depth.

I did like both the characters, individually and together.
I just found it strange how Dani moved on so quickly from her boyfriend and never thought of him again.
I also didn't enjoy how they basically just brushed over Peyton insecurities with her family and feeling left out.
It was addressed once and no one talked about it again afterwards.

I also really enjoyed the narrator, even though her voice sounded basically the same for all the characters.

I'm definitely going to read the other books in the series.

I always wanted to read Dani and Peyton’s story when I read All the love songs. So happy that their story is finally on paper. I loved this one. Not as much as All the love songs. But the chemistry was wow. The sex was hot (but they could have kissed sooner) There were a couple of scenes that I wanted on paper, that would have made there chemistry even better. Like the night they spent after the first kiss. And meeting Peyton’s family and spending the day at their house. I give it 4,7 stars. Also because Nicole sometimes writes ‘The woman’ instead of her or the name of the character. That makes it feel distant. Especially in a love making scene. For example
: Peyton was kissing the woman’s breast. Just say Dani’s breast or her breast!! But I love Hollywood/famous/rich people story’s.... I would not mind a short or so story about Dani and Peyton and Lennox and Kenzie.

Regarding this book I have mixed feelings since the beginning.

This book follows Dani Wilder a supermodel and Peyton Gloss, top pop music star. They met and then crushed, basically that’s what happened. And both were straight. All the book is about is them and how their careers would be affected since both are extremely popular.

Now, people have the power to spread their unhappiness by being selfish with themselves. If you know you are not happy with you partner, why do you keep extending the depths of your current relationship? For me that’s what Dani Wilder did with her then ex boyfriend, and it frustrated me.

If I need to describe this book with one word it is, fast. Not into 50 pages and somebody is already enamored of a person that met less than 24 hours. I guess I’m naïve and I’ve never experienced love at first sight.

I’m not saying I didn’t like it; I’m just saying that this is very, very fictional in my books. It was nice, entertaining and relative short.

I did find a nice quote: “I don’t think I need to be in a relationship to be whole, but I would like to fall in love..” I do think you decide a lot of things concerning love.

Not the best work of Nicole Pyland, but still really enjoyable.
It's a super slow burn, like 70% of the book they are not even together, but when they get there is like a rush, everything happens so fast, I wish we could see more about them together, and that that part of the book was more explored.

The sex part is amazing, as always, Miss Pyland know how to make a really good and hot moment.

It's also weird that they are so young to have a love for life (my age mostly, but still), but I guess love doesn't care about age.

Im excited to I read the second book, it looks really interesting and I think there's more about Pey and Dani there.

It's a really cute and hot book, so I recommend if you enjoy love histories with rich and beautiful women that never thought they could fall in love with another woman.

Also, Peyton's sisters look very spoiled, I didn't like them very much, but her mom is amazing, I wish I had a mom like that. And her parents telling her that they chose her was the best, it warmed my heart, amazing, just amazing.

4 stars because I really think that the beginning could be shorter and their relationship could be more explored.

F/f explicit.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In all honesty, “All the Love Songs” was not my favorite of Nicole Pyland’s books. She is one of the few authors that I will read every single story she writes because she has a way of pulling out my emotions. I was literally crying while reading this on my flight back home with the poor guy next to me puking his guts out the whole flight. That’s how much I loved this story, not even the sick guy could pull me away. Although I did try to help where I could because being sick and stuck on a plane is the worst. Anyway, this is a must read for any existing Pyland fans and any newcomers that want to read a story that grabs your heart. Highly recommend!

I'm not really a fan of the love at first sight trope, but this one was just too cute. They were perfect for eachother in everyway ,and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I love them more when they were actually together instead of when they had just feelings for eachother.

Even so,I don't particularly know a lot of Dani's character, I feel like a lot of focus was on Peyton's character.

Their first kiss was also unexpected that I didn't believed it happened, I actually was gaslighting myself into believing it's a dream.

But this book is a comfort one,one that will make you laugh, cry,and will make you feel love into a relationship you're not part of.
