*** Banter, hot M/M sex, and lots of battles...! Our two hunters, Shaun and Lucas, are working with kisune,(fox shifter) Nic. Their target is a female Fae, and their attack plan works. The mistake? They killed a Fae princess, and the war is on.
Nic had watched the guys fight and had keen insight as to why Shaun and Lucas make such an awesome fighting team. This book in the series is M/M, because there is great sexy times for each hunter - with Nic, but the three don't get together.
This episode is all about the guys starting a war, and how they can stop it. Saying goodbye to family is a priority, but it turns out they get help. Extensive planning meetings are held, and finally a plan is set. Non-stop banter and sassiness goes on along with flirting between our men.
Nic is the most open. A sly, playful kitsune...
Internally, Shaun and Lucas love each other, but do not reveal their affection. The combo of humor and fierceness is terrific ! ENJOY ! ====== Thank you sweet Darlene for the rec ! =====
Book 2 of “Chasing The Hunters” continues with action pack battles with the supernatural as well as emotions rising sky high. And that includes personal emotions between the threesome, Lucas, Shaun and Nic. Noah Harris hasn’t let me down with an uninteresting story and this was one I couldn’t put down until I finished it.
Lucas and Shaun’s battle with the supernatural brings them to a city where a serial killer Fae has been leaving behind several young, healthy human adults in her wake. She must be stopped and the two hunters, along with Nic, show up at her home to take her down. Surprisingly, Shaun had Lucas call Nic to check up on him to see if he was alright after Lucas had been waiting a few weeks for a return call. That’s how Nic came back into the story.
After Lucas and Shaun’s hard fight (Nic watched) to take down the very strong Fae female and she lay dead on the floor, Nic noticed the medallion around her neck indicating she’s royalty, a princess. It is an unspoken respect between Fae royalty and the human hunters to leave each other alone, but Lucas and Shaun had no idea this Fae was from a royal family.
With this respect broken, the consequences are high; it means war with the Fae. No hunter wants a war with the Fae and it’s been many, many years since the last one. Lucas and Shaun have very few options available to them and one is to give themselves up to the King and be killed.
The two hunters decide to go home to visit Shaun’s parents and brought Nic with them; neither hunter tells the parent’s about what has happened and Nic figured it out that they were there to say their goodbyes. Nic is taken aback with awe at the closeness of family, one he has never had.
“Facing Choices” is a great addition to “Chasing The Hunters” series bring the threesome closer together as Nic started to realize what family was all about and having trusting friends, so the three are falling deeper into their relationship. As I have said before, I am not into M/M/M stories, but Noah does a great job writing this series so it’s become acceptable for me.
Whether like me you really aren’t a big fan of threesomes, or you really love them, this is a great series and I highly recommend the series and this book. I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & I am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
--- seems more a thing with male rather than female writers. This writer, I notice, has always been more controlled and systematic in the way his characters interact and react to each other and situations. Females are more prone to emotion, while males are much like Harris, reticent, droll, and very much like Lucas' character and personality. Nic was his attempt to lighten the moods and events our two protagonists find themselves in, which, given how tense and stiff Lucas is socially, while Shaun tends to put his foot into his mouth at inopportune moments as he charmingly makes new friends, results in successful socialization.
I find Harris's writing is always dry, controlled, and full of detail. He tends to narrate scenes rather than allow his characters to interact, dialogue, and reveal eventualities. This isn't a bad thong, just different and detached. I still enjoyed Shaun and Nic's banter while gritting my teeth at how they don't COMMUNICATE well, rather like MANY men I know!!! 2.5 stars for a good storytelling job that needs more character personalization and HEAT between our protagonists!
This is an action-packed, on he edge of your seat read. Lucas and Shaun are on a mission to find a serial killer fae. Nic joins them after Shaun had Lucas call him to check up on how he's doing. When Shaun and Lucas catch and kill the fae, Nic realizes that she is royalty which can start a war. Now they must find a way to save Shaun and Lucas from turning themselves over to the king and be killed. The three of them really grow closer throughout this story. Summary: Lucas and Shaun's lives as hunters continued after Nicolai left with only an occasional word to Lucas. Nicolai has lived his life alone trusting few people. After the betrayal of his sister recently it left him and Lucas wondering if anyone could be trusted. Even with all of that Nicolai returned just before Lucas and Shaun took on the job of locating and stopping the death of more innocents at the hand of a Fey woman. Nicolai went along to observe, but what they found in the end would possibly change everything for hunters. The fight was brutal leaving them no other option but to kill the fey woman. What they didn't know until after was that she was a member of the royalty and her death could possibly be the catalyst to war. A fight of the hunters versus the fey is one they never wanted, but one that could kill many if they can't find a way to end it before it is too late.
It was fascinating to see the growth in Lucas, Shaun and Nicolai as their friendship evolved into something they never expected. Changing a lifetime of habits is never easy and Shaun's mother is more then ready to push or shame them into doing what could be the best for them. Her love and acceptance is the best gift she has to offer to Lucas and Nicolai who have no family of their own. Add to this the excitement of the hunt, paranormal situations and a love story that may beat the odds giving the reader an incredible story. Shaun and Lucas are on a mission to find a fae who as been killing humans. They find after they kill her that she is a fae princess and now they either give themselves up or a war will start with the fae and the hunters. Shaun and Lucas are becoming more involved and then Nic shows up after Lucas asks him to meet them. A plan needs to be made to save Shaun and Lucas them from the fae king for killing their daughter. Another problem that Nic is investigating is that hunters are disappearing with no sign of what happens. Hooking up sexually and as friends the three divise a plan to save Shaun and Lucas, but it is a slim chance. I'm not particularly happy with the triad that is forming with the three as I am fond of Shaun and Lucas and they make a great team and are good friends who have already crossed over to lovers. The three men though make up an unbeatable team and can't wait to find out more about if the three men come together, if Lucas is one of the hunters who will disappear and what is the secret organization that is forming to take out all paranormal beings. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
Another outing for hot hunters Lucas and Shaun and Nic, the kitsune. This is a tale of friendships, war, doing the right thing and...the Fae, that kept me on the edge of my seat. Technically the book is well written, exciting and the background to the supernatural creatures is well thought out and supports the well crafted plot, which is fast paced and liberally dotted with heat, action and humour. At the end of book one I really wanted the relationship between Lucas and Shaun to step up to the next level and grow deeper and more emotional, but that didn’t happen in book two which really needed the emotional boost that it would have given. I was also looking forward to some more hot scenes between the three of them but again I was disappointed, although there are hot scenes as you would expect from Noah Harris. Despite those missed opportunities this is a good book which can be read as a stand-alone, although I would strongly advise reading book one first. Note I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
👍Can Lucas and Shaun mitigate a major and deadly blunder with the aid of their foxy friend?! 😱 March 14, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition A 4+ star 👬 adventure peppered with some major m/m steam, once again heroes Lucas and Shaun team up with fox shifter Nic in this second book in the author's new Hunter series. I like the threesome, and especially how Lucas and Nic are softening Shaun's attitude. Where he once felt the only good shifter/ paranormal being was a dead one, Shaun sees the friendship, loyalty, and willingness to sacrifice Nic exhibits and grows attached despite himself.
This story juxtaposes the bigger fight against revengeful and murderous Fae with some thrilling battle scenes against the family, friendship and sexual dynamics of the three male leads. Author Harris writes a good tale with flawed but endearing characters and I look forward to further exploits as the trio's friendship and teamwork further develop.
I read a complimentary advance copy of this book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Looking forward to reading the next book of the series...
FACING CHOICES, Book 2 in Noah Harris's CHASING THE HUNTERS series, is well-written. I'm still not a fan of the menage relationship between Shaun, Lucas and Nic; it just doesn't feel right to me. I realize Nic holds an important role in the story but feel like Lucas and Shaun belong together as a couple (not with Nic in a threesome). Please don't misunderstand -- I'm not opposed to reading books with good, strong, 3-people menages all together; in my opinion, I just don't think think that it is right for these three. To be completely honest, I feel a strong pull towards a 3-star ranking because of the menage dynamic of these characters BUT I think 4 stars is probably a fairer rating. ANYWAY........ I'm ready to read Book 3! I'm looking forward to discovering what's going to happen next.
This is a fascinating, intriguing MMM Shifter Romance and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this wonderful book is: various shifters, fae, hunters, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, death, conflict, assassination, fighting, victory, lust, passion and a few steamy erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written and keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in. I would definitely recommend this book, I doubt you would be disappointed.
As our story begins, Lucas and Shaun are hunting for fae who is killing humans. With Nic help they discover that they have killed Fae princess and mostly likely have started a war. They all go to Shaun's parents thinking they still had time before the war to turn themselves in to the Far to prevent this war. It is too late and they devise a plan to kill the Fae King to stop the war. The characters are loveable as their friendship develops. Noah Harris takes us on a great journey as this trio bonds themselves as their world becomes one.⚘⚘⚘
The story line is pretty good but could use a continuity editor - some of the character elements built in the first one are completely rewritten in this one. For the most part, the story line and characters are engaging and fun. I'll still read the rest of the series, and probably enjoy it, but I doubt I'll read it more than once.
this was hott... oh man.. noah is getting better and better with his writing.. i loved it.. it was complex and had me on the edge of me seating wondering what was next.. it had me happy and sad.. the feelings were everywhere and i loved it so much.
MM. A continuation of the Chasing the Hunter series with Shaun, Lucas, and Nicolai. Battles with supernatural beings, an exploration of their relationships, and a chance to get to know them more personally. Explicit. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
It takes me some times to take in the story. The beginning looks a bit flat but if you are patient you will the plot interesting and the characters enjoyable. I recommend it
