With his marriage to Shana on the line, ex-special ops legend Dane Blaise faces a murder trial. The worst of it is the star witness against him is his best friend--or former best friend...
But that's not the only trouble on Martha's Vineyard. When an assassin shows up to go after the governor, not even Shana can stop Dane from trying to stop the deadly assassin.
Will Dane stay out of jail long enough to save the governor's life... and more importantly, to marry Shana?
What Readers are saying about the Beachcomber Investigations romantic thriller series: "The characters are perfect blend of the classic TV PI shows with a modern touch. Loved this book! It is full of action and romance and a satisfying conclusion to the series. I will miss Shana and Dane, but have thoroughly enjoyed each book of their journey. If you have read any of the prior books, this one is a must read. If you haven't, you're missing some great books and should put them at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
I definitely went about this rather backwards. This is book twelve of the series and the conclusion, but it turned out to be where I started. The good news is that I still enjoyed it and never felt lost, although there was a time or two when I figured I might have missed a reference. The bad news? Now I need to go back and read the previous eleven books...
I found this to be an excellent example of a romantic suspense story. The story is well written and easy to read with well developed characters that have solid chemistry and seem very real. I guess they should after eleven (now twelve) books. The story itself had enough complexity and twists that kept things moving and me guessing as to what was going on so that I was engaged right up to the end. Overall, an excellent read and I look forward to discovering the characters from the start.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC from Hidden Gems for review purposes.
I've read several of the Beachcomer series books. This is the wrap-up book. Because I hadn't read the previous book, I had a little difficulty understanding where I was in the character's lives. However, once I got into the book, I followed quite well. My recommendation is to read the previous book before reading this one.
I have enjoyed this book and the authors other books so I was happy to receive this book. Dane and Shana are some great investigators. They are strong and smart. They also love each other. This book has some unexpected turns. I recommend this book to readers who know the characters. If not, you won't be sorry if you start at the first book in the series and move through all 12.
Book 12, the series finale of the Beachcomber Investigations series by Stephanie Queen was the usual suspense-filled action-adventure the reader expects from the author, as she puts her characters through emotional and physical hell as they fight to overcome all the obstacles in their way. The characters are so identifiable and relatable thanks to the author for giving them the emotional anchor needed in their turbulent lives to know what is important and what is not. I really hate to see this series end, but all eventually do. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
I haven’t read the entire series, but I have read a few and this book can be read without reading the others. Dane and Shana are investigators that seem to get into some dangerous and scary situations while performing their jobs. Good drama and lead up to a surprise visit from someone from Dane’s past and why they need to remain in his past instead of his present life. Shana and Dane are so fiercely loyal to each other and will protect each other with their lives if they need to. Dane is on trial for murder and his lawyer is such a pistol, love her in this story. Lots of betrayal, surprises and a wedding. I received an ARC and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Another wonderful story by Ms. Queen. Wonderful, intense romantic suspense in the series: Beachcomber Investigations. Finally Dane and Shana Plan their wedding when suddenly his now former best friend points him as a murderer. Not only is their wedding in jeopardy but also an assassin is nearby to take out the governor. The angst, suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. I received a complementary copy of this book via Hidden Gems and chose to write this review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Queen.
I have read all 12 books in this series, and loved everyone of them. The series has all kinds of excitement throughout the whole series. You will never be bored reading this series.. Lots of suspense trying to figure out who the bad guys are. I recommend this series to one and all. Stephanie thank you for writing this series. You are awesome. Cindy Bowers
This was a really good book. I love the story of Dane and Shana and will be sorry this is the end of the series. This book had so many surprises in it. It reunites many of the characters from the other books. I highly recommend this book!
Each one is better than the next. I hope that even though Ms Queen has stated the series is done, maybe we will see a new series emerge with the new owners of the beach shack and Beachcomber Investigations.
