Rotten Love #2

Rotten Men

Rate this book
Pride A sin every made man is born into. With a branding iron, our souls are scorched into believing there is no greater virtue than our syndicate pride—we kill and bleed to keep its honor. Yet, some might say pride comes before destruction—a haughty spirit before a fall. I say there are far more devastating ways to push someone into the fiery pits of hell. A lover’s betrayal cuts more deeply than any wound a knife can inflict. When she left, we were nothing but boys; little less than your everyday thugs. Too naive and blinded by love, to see deep into her traitorous heart. Her departure made sure to turn us all cruel, spiteful, and vindictive. And now, her deceitful smile returns, searching to plague us further. She wants absolution. She craves justice. But she is unworthy of either. Because the boys she pretended to treasure, no longer exist. It took one rotten girl of our past, to turn us all into the rotten men we are today. And it’s about time she got acquainted with her creations. Rotten Men is the second and last book in this duet. This is #whychoose contemporary romance, full length novel. *Recommended 18+ due to mature language, adult situations and sensitive content.

Ivy Fox is a USA Today bestselling author who thrives on angst, yearning, and the kind of soul-crushing tension that keeps readers up way past their bedtime.
A shameless connoisseur of emotional chaos, Ivy crafts stories where feelings hit hard, desire simmers low, and falling in love feels completely inevitable. She believes love is beautiful and should be celebrated in all its forms, so readers can expect everything from MF, MM, and MMF romances to one lucky heroine collecting an entire harem of devoted soulmates.
When she’s not unleashing emotional devastation on the page, Ivy lives a pretty chill life with her two favorite men—her husband and her son.
The only thing that truly keeps her up at night are the fictional characters in her head who refuse to shut up until she tells their story. She’s long learned to let them run the show… and honestly, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
A firm believer in happy endings, Ivy writes romance fueled by passion, heart, and the promise that no matter how messy things get, love will always prevail.

Sooo good!

My sleep addled brain is absolute mush as it's now 3am and I have binged this duet to complete it in one go.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the duet, is was raw, emotional, steamy and had a great ending!

My sleep deprived brain can't think of more words to say but I definitely recommend this duet.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. The first one in the series feels like a really long Prologue. The ending felt really rushed after all the "killing." I would have enjoyed a longer conclusion to see how the 4 of them handled their relationship(s). It feels like the story is not finished.

"a soulmate in a world where only the soul-less roamed free" Ivy Fox

We begin 10 years after Selene disappeared from Chicago and left Vincent, Dominic and Giovanni with a broken heart.
In doing so they become hateful, hardened and
"garnish a steel heart as my own protective shield" Ivy Fox.
Selene does come back needing help for a friend in a difficult situation but she no longer finds her young naive boyfriends.
Vincent is now the boss of the outfit, Gio the consigliere, and Dom the enforcer.
Selene is trying to do the right thing and at the same time exploring her feelings for the rotten men.
Some forgive her more easily and just want her love while others hate her and what she did.
Secrets, mafia violence, heartbreak, thrills, twist and turns, love and loyalty ensue.

This is a great Mafia Romance Duet.
I loved each of the Rotten Men for different reasons, I cant pick a favorite!

Please read Rotten Girl (Book one) First
Mafia, coming of age, relationship building of the Four characters.

Rotten Men is the second book in this amazing Duet series. It's necessary to read them in order or else the actions and consequences won't make sense.

This book is filled with deceit, loss, illegal activity, obsession, abuse but mostly love. Love of a mother, a child,a brother, a family, and of a soul mate. Each page leads to a rollercoaster of emotions to find out how relationships are dealt with within the Mafia and the lengths people go to protect the ones they love. Read to find out how loving someone is worth facing fears.

Jumping back into the world of the Chicago mafia and the made men was everything I wanted and more. Set 10 years after Rotten Girl, we now see what has become of our Rotten Boys (now men) and our Rotten Girl. This book was an emotional rollercoaster, full of surprises, heart warming love and heart breaking decisions. I could not put this book down, I love these guys as if they were real, Vincent absolutely broke my heart, Dom's love for Selene is something to be envious of and Gio just brings a smile to my face constantly. Great book Ivy, Cannot wait to see what you write next.

I really don't know how to put into words how I felt about this book, aside from that it was absolutely perfect, beautifully written and had a bittersweet feel to it.

I admit that this took me a long time to read. I was in pins and needles for it to come and when the day it became live, I was giddy with excitement. But along with it was trepidation. I wasn’t ready for this story to end. I fell in love with these characters so hard that I know saying goodbye wasn’t going to be easy. So, I let this sit on my kindle for weeks, silently taunting me with that beautiful cover until I finally gave up. It was time for me to “woman up” and face the inevitable agony.

The story started 10 years after Selene left and all of the characters had tried to moved on with their lives, although still haunted by their past. It was told in multiple POV which I loved because I felt the connection with each character. And oh, the feels! I was choking with my emotions as I read along.

“Either by fire or ice, our love will always burn. Not even death can change that”.

It was pure agony the situations that they had to went through. I was thinking, how are they going to have their happy ever after when the entire world seems to conspire against them? Also, was it just me or am I reading poetry? I swear I could have likened this to a Shakespearean play anytime with its beautifully articulated prose.

Selene and her rotten men will always hold a special place in my heart including Pietro. What about Ciro? I was conflicted. He is a man you will love to hate but at the same time, hate to love.

“….Could you ever love me, Selene? The same way I love you? There is genuine vulnerability underlining his every word, and my heart breaks for the monster that yearns to be loved but is resolved in killing the pieces of my own soul”.

As Juliet said to her Romeo, “parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow”. This is me hoping and praying that there would be another spin off to this story, because like I have said, I’m not ready to say goodbye at all.

The sequel to Rotten Girl, Rotten Men takes place 10 years after the events of the first book, which I was actually really happy about. Part of the draw of these characters is their journey, it’s what they’ve been through. I think if the second book would have followed on immediately after the first book, it would have cheated them a bit.

This book is multi-POV, and we get to know much more about the men in Selene’s life now. She returns to Chicago, and they’re not sure what to believe. Meanwhile, Selene’s still trying to protect herself while trying to making sure that the right thing is done. A lot happens in this book, because there is a lot to rebuild in the way of relationships and trust, not to mention the actual plot. It’s a bit of a battle between head and heart in this book, as the the characters have obviously all been hurt, but they haven’t lost any of their chemistry from the first book. This book is most definitely not lacking in chemistry and sexy scenes. It’s hard not to give too much away with this, because there are a few bomb drops in this story. I saw some of them coming, but not others.

My only criticism with this book is that, while it’s very clear this this story takes place 10 years after book 1, the timeline of events in this book isn’t very clearly laid out. In some places it’s alluded to that weeks or months have passed, but it’s not actually explicit, so it can be a little hard to understand the full extent of what’s gone on. It’s not that big a deal, and it didn’t really detract from the story, but I did find myself asking the question. It could just be me, though.

I do slightly wish the story would have carried on a little but further, as the ending felt a little abrupt, but I think that’s mainly because I really like these characters. I just wanted more. Overall, I thought it was a brilliant and exciting ending to this duet, and absolutely fitting of the characters in the story.

I loved the conclusion to this series, and found it refreshing that it was a duet series.
Sometimes RH series can drag on tooooo long.
But I find for a contemporary RH this was really well written. I liked the characters and the main girl Seline.

This book takes place almost 10 years afte the last.
At first I wasn't such a fan of the HUGE time jump.
The characters in the first book were like 17 and now they are like 26/27.

But, overall i loved the series, and thought it was a page turner.

A beautiful ending for the broken souls

Confession time - it has taken me over a week to be ready to read this book. Rotten Girl was so amazing and heart wrenching and I awaited Rotten Men anxiously, but when the time came I wasn't ready to delve into a book that I knew could break my heart. All that being said Rotten Men was everything I expected and more! As I nervously began to read I remembered why I loved Selene, Vincent, Gio & Dom so much...and being able to delve into their story again soothed my soul.

The book picks up a decade after the last and we learn the toll that Selene's absence has taken on her men. They live everyday with their heart shattered. When Selene finally walks back into their life, well all of their reactions went as expected, especially Gio's (who is my favorite). Secrets surround Selene but as these things always go they slowly begin to unravel and come to light. It was nice to have the truths out there for all to see and while they all grew up in the last decade, Selene maintained her sweetness and willingness to sacrifice. Vincent gets some hard lessons in this one but I think they only serve his growth as a person. The ending was extremely satisfying and the duet was just wonderful. I am so, so glad I discovered Ivy Fox and her Rotten characters and I think you will be too if you give them a chance.

Well, this second books takes place 10 years after the events that separated the main characters. The FMC comes back seeking help from the boys she once knew, but they have changed. They are more vicious, cruel and unyielding, or at least one of them did hold quite the grudge.
I understood why the main heroine ran, but I did not understand how and why she did hide such important facts from them. Frankly, if I had been in the guys' shoes, I would have been livid with her. They seem to be more soft hearted than me as all was forgiven pretty quickly after she confessed everything. Another thing that was a tad more challenging to grasp was how utterly devoted they were to each other, I mean it has been 10 years. They did know each other as teenagers, but as adults they barely knew anything and first thing that happens- boom - fireworks. Perhaps it is just a me thing here and I have become more cyclical with time, but I did not believe that this was possible. Picking up right where you left off despite the secrets, drama and uncertainty.
There is plenty of turmoil here and past villains come to the surface, but as a united front, their little family came through on top.All in all, decent mafia story.

Great continuation of the series

The actual story in this second book was so compelling. Ten years after the first book, there have been so many changes. Vincent, Dom and Gio have all grown into much darker and more dangerous versions of their younger selves and are much more powerful within the Chicago Outfit.
Selene has been gone with no contact for all that time. But now she has to return to Chicago and ask her guys for help, even though it’s dangerous and she could be killed on site for betraying the family.
There are lots of big secrets in this book, and the ones from the last book come to light. I just couldn’t put it down.
I just wish that the epilogue had been more detailed about their lives and a bit longer. Kinda felt like an abrupt ending. But good nonetheless.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
Ever since I read book 1, Rotten Girl, I have been waiting to read the next book! Finally it came and it was soooooo good! There are so many twists and turns, I didnt know what to expect next! This book was very dark and addicting.
Selene, Dominic, Gio, and Vincent have been separated due to surprising circumstances. Yet Dominic, Gio, and Vincent have all been in love with Selene their entire lives and will do anything they need to in order to protect her.
This was a great story and I really enjoyed reading this. I have not read anything like this and it was refreshing. Ivy Fox definitely has a new follower! If you have not picked up your copy of Rotten Men, I suggest you go grab your copy.

The conclusion to the fantastic Rotten Love Duet will leave you feeling so many feels. I absolutely loved the twists, the darkness of the guys as they struggled with their own emotions and memories of a past so tortured. It was beautifully written, and again, I didn't even feel as if I was reading an RH book, which I love. The relationship between Vince, Dom and Gio and Selene is perfectly balanced and written in a way that is refreshing. I adored this book, and commend Ivy for another huge success.

Holy Moly, wow was Rotten Men just the perfect ending to an amazing duet.
What an emotional read packed full of angst, betrayals and loyalty, twists and turns, some action and violence and lots of love is what kept me enthralled and had me love these characters even more. I had moments when I shed a few tears as I felt for everything Selene, Vincent, Gio and Dom had to fight through.
Even after 10years apart the love they have to protect one an other is so strong and absolute it just pulls at my heart.
If you loved Rotten Girl you will definitely love Rotten Men and the amazing conclusion to this brilliant duet.

Well Ivy did it again!

This was an amazing conclusion to the Rotten Love duet. Ivy has some of the most heart wrenching portrayals of love and angst in this book. I’m not usually a crier, but this really got to me, and I loved it. I’m sad that it is over but it was an amazing read, and I can’t wait to see what Ivy creates next. I definitely recommend this, just prepare to be emotionally destroyed in the best possible way!

Rotten Ever After

I devoured this second book as quickly as the first. Completely immersed in the world Ivy has created. I was desparate to find out what was going to happen to Selene and her men and at points I wanted to scream and curse at my kindle, when you read it you'll understand and you really Have to read it! This book was perhaps not as dark as the first although the undercurrents were there but i felt that this fit perfectly with where the story was headed. Ivy will definitely be a 1 click author for me from now on.

The End~

Going into the book, I didn't know what to expect. So much time has passed by and so much has changed. We kind of start over and then restart the process. I'm so glad that they got the ending they deserved...later than I would have wanted, but the people they have grown into are just too good! Strong characters, wow romance and a unique villain made for an amazing book and led to a great ending.

All the feels

I loved it. It slayed me and hit all the feels, hurting my heart in the best of ways. An amazing follow up to the first installment of this fantastic duet showing the cast of characters years later living with the consequences of the decision made at the end of RG. I highly recommend this series, it quickly has become an absolute favorite of mine that I’m sure to reread time and again.

Excellent ending to the Rotten girl and boys romance duet!

Ivy Fox has done it again with an excellent view into the Chicago syndicate, the trials and evilness, and the heartache between Selene and her three men. Ivy does a great job throwing us for a loop when we find out what exactly has happened to Selene in the 10 years since she’s ran away from the loves of her life. Still always team Gio but this book has made me team Vincent also. Definitely recommend to read the first book (Rotten Girl) and the second one.

This book omg this book was absolutely fantastic!
Ivy Fox most definitely knows how to keep her readers sitting on the edge of their seats, because that’s where I literally was kept the whole time I was reading this book.
So it’s going to be a BIG HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read Rotten Girl then I highly suggest that you do so that you’ll know what’s happening and who’s who.

So Gio and Dom are my favs! It was kind of hard to read about Vincent's journey though it kind of hurt my heart a little. In the end I loved how this duet ended. Selene is still one of my favorite female characters in this type of series. She is strong and she loves hard. Their journey made me laugh and cry....you may want tissues.....just saying. Great characters and great writing. I know its over but I kind of wish there was more of Selene and her Rotten Men.

Wow what a ride. This book is filled with such an emotional roller coaster. Selene is such a strong woman and surrounds herself with strong, caring men who are completely devoted to her. Life is hard sometimes and so is the ride the author takes you on but I promise it is worth it in the end.

Beautiful, just beautiful

I love mafia stories and this one is at the top. I felt everyone's emotions; from heart ache to love, hatred to redemption. This quest pulls you in and sucks you into the world that is being molded right in front of you. I will gladly by this duet on paperback because I know I will be reading it again and again.
