First rule of teaching... don’t fall for a student. Finally living the life of my dreams in a city I’d always wanted to experience was supposed to be a clean slate.Until him... My prim and proper world is turned upside down when he walks into my college classroom, demanding attention with a single look, his braces and glasses at complete odds with his defined body and bad boy tattoos. From the first moment we connect, it’s like he’s daring me to live the life I’ve always craved, a life on the edge...not caring what others think.Breaking the rules to be with a student will be crossing the line, but life on the other side just might be what I’ve been looking for.Avoiding Temptation is the first book of the Temptation duet set in the Forbidden world.

When Quinn relocated all she wanted to do was leave the painful memories and the people who were responsible in her past. She is looking for a new beginning so the last thing she needs to do is get involved with one of her students.

From the moment that Joe entered the class and saw the teacher he was determined to make their relationship personal as well as professional. He knows that there is much more to her than appears and he is determined to show her that there is more to life than work but will he be able to protect her from her past?

This is the first part of a duet and leaves you wondering what the future has in store for Quinn and Joe.

This book is romantic, swoony, sexy and I loved it! I am a recent fan of the author and have enjoyed the few books that I have read and plan to read more. This story is about Quinn, a teacher and Joe, a student in her adult class. Quinn and Joe have great chemistry and sexual tension. Their developing relationship is romantic and HOT! The story slowly unfolds revealing some of the mysterious secrets Quinn is hiding and it keeps you guessing and trying to figure out why she has a fear of being found. Joe has secrets of his own. I assume the secrets of both will be revealed in the next book and I can't wait! I highly recommend it. I received this book from Booksprout for an honest review.

I usually have no problem with British words or spellings but I was confused by the word braces thinking it was braces for teeth or legs or something of that sort. So I looked it up and it is British for what we Americans call suspenders. lol

Oh wow, Tracy Lorraine has completely outdone herself with this instalment of the Forbidden series. It was absolutely perfect; it had just the right amount of story, intrigue, passion and impeccable writing.
We are finally getting Joe’s story. We first met him when he was pretending to be with Lauren to scare Ben off back in ‘Falling for the Forbidden’. He has been a presence in the previous five books, but we haven’t really gotten to know him, although we do know that he has been being secretive and has a mystery woman.
Quinn is running away from her past. She has moved to London, changed her image and is ready to live the life she wants. She has started a new job as a teacher at an adult college, but she isn’t prepared for the geeky bad boy at the back of her first class.
I was quite surprised that we get the whole story from the perspective and voice of Quinn. So, we still aren’t privy to what makes Joe tick. He is there, and he is swoonsome, but we don’t know what his deepest inner desires are. The intensity he was written with really came off the pages, and I found myself falling for him a little bit. I do usually manage to stay detached from the characters (I’m happily married), but Joe was certainly doing it for me (blush)!
I did find it hard to marry up this Joe with the one I’d previously pictured in the first five books. He just seemed so much suaver. I did keep reminding myself about how he squared up to Ben to keep the image of a bad boy in my mind. I’d always just had him as a bit of a weaker character; I think because he was always just in the background. There is nothing soft about the Joe in this book though; he could knock anyone’s socks off!
I really liked the intrigue that came with Quinn, I am dying to know what her full secret is and the ending was just brilliant. Tracy certainly knows how to write a cliffhanger and leave you wanting more. I think this story kept me more gripped than any of her previous ones, and I’m feeling very impatient waiting for the conclusion. I’ve just looked up the date for the next instalment, 23rd January, ah hopefully I can get an ARC, so I don’t have to wait that long! It’s still next year, though!
So, overall, I think this is the best Tracy Lorraine book I have read so far (and I’ve read them all!) A massive five stars (if I could give it more I would). Absolutely flipping brilliant!

What happens when you can't avoid that temptation any longer???

Sometimes Avoiding Temptation is just way too hard, at least that is what happens with Quinn Smith when she sees Joe for the first time. She has started a new life teaching English at a London college and just wants to enjoy her new found independence. Her friend Eddie helped her move to London, get the new job and find an apartment. But Quinn is also keeping things secret from her previous life and Eddie knows these.
Joe has decided that he wants more in life and realizes that he needs to go to school to do that. So he signs up for an adult ed English class and Miss Smith is the teacher. Joe is more than sexy as he is handsome, has a great body, tattoos and is smart. But he is also a geeky nerd who wears glasses suspenders. quotes Shakespeare and makes her weak at the knees.
Quinn and Joe have an instant draw to each other. They try to avoid temptation the best they can as they are brought together in the classroom. It quickly becomes apparent that they cannot avoid the temptation any longer but what happens when they both realize the other is keeping secrets hidden from their past. Will they be able to reveal their secrets and build a stronger bond or will their secrets tear them apart?

This book does end on a cliffhanger and Quinn and Joe's story will continue in the next book of the series. Avoiding Temptation is filled with emotion with a well developed and completely engaging story-line and wonderful characters that have depth. Well the student/teacher "temptation" is not really that great as they are both adults the temptation is still their for the characters as they both realize quickly once they give in others things will need to come to light. This was a book that I would definitely recommend.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Avoiding Temptation is Joe's story in Tracy Lorraine's Forbidden series. Joe Kingsman has decided that he wants to improve his lot in life to become something more than he is by signing up for an adult ed. English class. Miss Smith (Quinn) is used to teaching teenagers for the last 8 years and she's just a little apprehensive about teaching a room full of adults. She has no idea how she's going to handle the bad boy nerd with the tattoos and attitude, especially since she felt such a pull toward him when he walked through the door. He caught her attention and intends to keep it. The more time he spends with her in class and out, Joe recognizes that she's hiding something and that it hurt her deeply. He says and does everything he can think of to take her out of her memories and keep her with him in the present. His poetic texts are hilarious and just what she needs. Quinn tells herself that she can't get involved with one of her students, even if he is an adult. They are delicious together and Quinn is starting to come into her own as a woman. But her past in London has located her. There's a black cloud hanging over her and the scandal that she ran from is about to catch up. The perfect place for a cliffhanger. Part two of the duet can't be released fast enough!

Yes! We’re finally getting Joes story. You most certainly don’t want to miss this. Joe has been in a few other books as a side characters and I have to say he always interested me and the little nuggets of information that have been dropped about him through those books have made me curious as to his story.
Whilst this is a student/teacher romance it is in no way sleazy, there is no age gap and oh my God Joe is so alpha that you can forgive him anything. 😁
I loved the complicated past added to Quinn, meaning you don’t necessarily get the full dark and twisted back story of Joe as some sexy woman pulls the info out of him, you have him cracking his heart open for the woman with the darkness in her past.
This is only book 1 of 2 and it does end on a cliff hanger making you want to throw your kindle across the room in frustration to know what happens next... but you know it’s going to be totally worth it.

This is book six in the Forbidden series bit book one in the Temptation duet. This is Joe's story. I could not wait to find out more about Joe as he flutters in the background of previous books in this series. This a student and teacher relationship where both characters know its wrong but fate and attraction keep challenging them. I love the twist where Quinn is the teacher and Joe is the student. Like I said we readers have met Joe before in previous books in the series but this book gives his character a whole new outlook for me. It may be Quinn that brings out this side of him but boy oh boy, I like it.....alot. What a great story with amazing characters that pack alot of depth and heat as their journey begins. I will be ever so not patiently waiting for book two. Enjoy!

We finally get the start of Joe’s story. It’s not the whole story and I’m anxiously awaiting the conclusion already. This first part is from Quinn’s point of view and it’s intense. I felt on edge the whole time trying to figure out what her deal was. Joe coming in and giving her exactly what she needed was downright sexy and I love them together. They both have pasts they’ve run from and are trying to become better people but the chaos Quinn comes with will be a doozy once the next book comes out. That cliffhanger left my heart pounding and unable to sleep. Tracy does it again reeling you in and leaving you on edge waiting for more

Quinn left her previous life to start over, to live, to experience a different way of life. Eddie her friend, who knows her past, is not what she's looking for, it would be more of the same. Joe is her student {adult School} he's all Tats and Attitude.. and Nerdy and Hot! He makes her feel. Things she's never felt. But he's also bringing forth nightmares, of her previous life. Joe does take her out and helps her experience life in London, she loves that he would do that. As they move closer and closer their pasts start to reveal who they were before, but Quinn doesn't reveal all. This is a cliffy, and you will gasp on the last page! Very well written, with wit and mystery to combine to be a great story!

Story and writing were okay - not terrible but not remarkable either. Although it's a student-teacher romance (reason I wanted to read it) the suspense of the story didn't center around the trope. The book was more plot driven than character driven. I wish it had been a dual POV as I really wanted to learn more about Joe and get inside his head.

It ends in a cliffhanger. I'm going to read the conclusion but I suspect it will center even less on Quinn and Joe's relationship than the first book.

Note: The author states the story is written British English, which is different than US English; however, I am pretty sure that no matter where you live, moose is not the correct spelling for the French chocolate dessert.

4 stars for Avoiding Temptation by Tracy Lorraine. This is book 1 of Joe and Quinn’s story. This is also a forbidden student/teacher romance with a side of suspense. Quinn has fled to London and is teaching at a new college. She wants to be herself after never being able to be. She notices Joe right off the bat. Joe looks like your typical bad boy. HE is everything Quinn has always wanted but could never have. What happens when the everything Quinn is running from catches up to her. I loved the suspense and romance in this story. It does end in a bit of a cliffhanger and I am starting book 2 now.

Is this the woman Joe was secretly seeing? His class teacher has secrets of her own from the life she is running from. I don't know if Joe is her knight in shining armor since he seemed kind of sleazy in the other books and not because of his sexual orientation. Joe can definitely show her how to live on the wild side. I look forward to finding out what happens to Quinn in the next book after that cliffhanger.

The author does a great job pulling you in with the strong chemistry and steamy passion between Joe and Quinn as well as the suspense and danger. You can feel the emotions flowing throughout with her descriptive writing and she brings the story to life with her detailed scenes. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the first part of Joe and Quinn's romance, it can be read as standalone story in the Forbidden Series, it does end on a cliffhanger but since I was invested in the romance between Joe and Quinn I really can't wait, the twist at the end really got my attention. I love Joe and Quinn together, she settles his character down a bit and he frees her soul.
This story is well-written and fast-paced, filled with plenty of drama and emotion. The characters are flawed yet incredibly likable.

That was just...HOLY MOLY! The air crackles with the electricity between Joe and Quinn. The mystery that is Quinn's past ratchets up as the pages turn (quickly and easily). They each share a little but Joe has his own skeletons that are yet to be revealed. For this sub-series / duet, having read the previous five books isn't necessary but the whole series is fantastic! Ahhh...I can't wait for the next installment in Quinn and Joe's story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I love this story between Quinn and Joe. There is so much to the story that I didn't want it to end, so to know there is more to come is exactly what I wanted. The two have such a strong slow burn, that I is almost too much but just perfectly played out that its just right. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this, that I honestly can say I didn't expect some things to happen. The chemistry is sparks between Quinn and Joe. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more of these two characters. Well done Tracy Lorraine. I definitely recommend this book for all.

Tracy is back at it and she has brought us the first have of Joe's story and I can't wait until the end of Jan. to find out what happens! I was hoping Joe's story would go a certain way but Tracy went in the opposite direction and I love it! The little twists and turns you get in this book is great and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Also, Joe being Alpha AF is mind blowingly awesome!

Such a great story of two people finding one another
I love this story of Joe and Quinn, whose attraction is forbidden, but can’t seem to avoid being with one another! Quinn is hiding from her past that being with Joe allows her to forget. Joe finds that he wants more with Quinn for the first time in his life. I love how Joe makes Quinn feel free. What happens when Quinn’s past catches up with her? You’ll be wanting the next part of the duet due January 2020 to find out.

I enjoyed this student/teacher romance. Just so you know this is only book one of two, so be prepared for the cliffhanger. I liked the chemistry between Joe and Quinn. The tension really builds in this slow burning, suspenseful romance. The story offers a compelling blend of drama, emotions, secrets, twist and danger. I can't wait to read book two to find out what happens. Of my own accord I am posting a forthright review.

Love, love, love Joe. He has been a constant in the Forbidden series and now we get his story & its amazing to read. We see his fall from grace into a relationship with lots of isdues and it certainly has that aftercreafing Avoiding Temptation. Quinn is an insecure person after an ordeal & needs someone who can help her find herself. She has dome troubles as we find out but we only know but a few. This story is amazing to read & only gets better xx

What can I say about Joe and Quinn. I loved them together. Their story is quite interesting as they both have something in their past that they don’t want to talk about, especially Quinn. A forbidden but beautiful romance blossoms and just when things get really good we’re left hanging. I enjoyed this book and I am so looking forward to the next part of their story.

Quinn teaches English at a college when the tattooed Joe walks into her class and she knows he is the same kind of man she always falls for the “bad boy”. Quinn and Joe fall for each other but both are hiding secrets but hers is tracking her down and will soon find her. This is the first book in this series with the others to come to Booksprout hopefully.
