BLACK EDGE Series (5 books!)
Mr. Black bought me at a secret auction on his yacht. I’ve never done anything like this before. What happens when one night isn’t enough?
This was another miss in this horrible series of books. I am glad to be done with them but still upset that they cost me $4.99 each. It's my own fault I should have read book one before I purchased any more but I believed the reviews. Big mistake, don't waste your time or your money!
I’m going to review the series as a whole because this was not a completed book. This is one book broken into 6 parts, NOT a series.
The characters where poorly developed. The story was choppy and incomplete. At one point there are two random chapters from a different POV and even that didn’t tell a whole story and there was no reason for it. It didn’t give us the information we were looking for.
What bothered me the most was the author plugging herself and her other novels in this book. There were basically random ads for herself throughout the book. It came across as arrogant and didn’t even further the plot at all. At one point she also goes on a tirade about how bookstores don’t carry independent authors and blasts them for it but then in the next breath blasts people who purchase from Amazon because it’s putting said bookstore out of business.
This edge-of-your seat conclusion to the Tell Me series will have you hanging onto the edge-of-your seat. Charlotte Byrd's writing takes you through a roller coaster of emotions, with the perfect amount of suspense, drama, corruption, turmoil, secrets, lies, twists, betrayal, danger, and love.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Read the EPIC Conclusion to the addictive TELL ME series by bestselling author Charlotte Byrd.
I couldn’t have picked a more perfect ending for this series. All of my questions were answered, even though I’d had some of them since the first book in the series and I’m not left wanting more of the story.
An amazing series read and I love that the books went quick, but the length didn’t seem to affect the quality of the story. I said this in one of my other reviews if the earlier books, but this series is a very comparable read to the mindfck series. I highly recommend this series if you enjoyed that one.
im reviewing the series as a whole because thats basically what it was, one book split into 6. I enjoyed it and didnt want to put each of them down but the inconsistencies, spelling mistakes and advertising the author herself? that put me off hugely. I feel the book could have been written better and the story could have developed into more chaos, spice and thrill. overall I didnt hate it but I wouldn't read any of Charlotte's work again.
This is the 6th and final book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Nicholas and Olive’s story continues, Nicholas is in prison and wonders if Olive is the reason. Will Olive be able to prove that Nicholas is innocent? Fast-paced read with lots of twists and turns and plenty of drama. Great characters with a story that really draws you in. The chemistry is amazing, I really liked it.
Love love love Olive and Nicholas Intense emotional broken heart stopping intriguing cant put it down Exciting conclusion Well we getting Sydney and James
How painful was it to see how book five ended – right? there were so many moments that things could turn out differently in that story and the POOF – the rug is ripped from under us and Nicholas has been nabbed. We don’t know if Olive was working with the FBI and brought them to him or if it was an accident (part of me things that Solly the cat was a plant by the FBI and that’s how they found him) but regardless, we end up with Nicholas behind bars, and quite a case against him.
Nicholas knows what he is innocent of and what crimes he’s committed and he knows that in this instance, he shouldn’t be behind bars. There’s too much against him and his case is so high profile that literally nothing will change his trajectory. We watch him suffer and get beat up, we watch him get transferred and we watch no one listen to him.
Olive wants to hold onto hope that she can get to the bottom of all of this. She believes that Nicholas didn’t kill anyone and she sets out on a fact finding mission to see who knows what about his ex girlfriend and his best friend. She’s naive to think that she’s taking the right precautions and frankly if this weren’t a book, she’d likely end up dead.
What she does find though uncovers a lot more than she bargained for. She finds people from Nicholas’s past that really know the truth but they have their own lives at stake and won’t stick their neck out on this one. When she does find a person in the DA’s office who helps, that’s a saving grace, yet there’s a challenge to get their findings known. What they did was illegal and no one wants to see Nicholas off the hook.
We find out who the real killer was for each of the murders, and we want justice to be served.
The other story line here is that of Sydney and James. The man that Syd’s mother adores and the man who broke Sydney’s heart. He cheated on her, and yet if she walks away from him, her mother will cut her off. We also learn that……she’s pregnant. So even though she hates what James did to her, she can’t walk away because she wants her family to be intact. Throughout this story we watch how that plays out and we want James to change and realize that she’s a great girl – but will he? who knows.
Then there’s Owen – no one likes him and because of his attack on Olive, he’s back in jail. where he should rot forever. She tries to put him out of her mind and life but of course she’s forced to cross paths with him again, and nothing goes as she hopes. Maybe she’ll be able to stay away from him for the rest of time since he’s in CA in jail.
A roller coaster of angst is in this last installment of the story again, and we wonder which end is up most of the time. There are relationships that are rekindled (Olive and her mom) and relationships that die (Olive and Owen). Relationships in Limbo (Olive and Nicholas and Syndey and James) and relationships that haven’t even begun yet. (Syd and her baby). I”m happy with how this story ends, we get closure even if it’s not in the way that we expected based on how the story progressed. At least it’s wrapped up and there’s no more questions to be asked.
So, I finished this whole series pretty quickly and overall the storyline was good. I didn’t like how the books ended so abruptly, could’ve easily been two books with better end points but helped me get caught up on my book count so 🤷🏼♀️
I did find it super cringy that the author kept bragging on herself as an author in the book. Multiple times the character says something like “I’m reading a book about this super amazing author Charlotte Byrd” and then goes into details about why she’s so amazing.
I did not expect the final to Nicholas and Olive's story to go the way it did. Olive goes to see Nicholas and the next I read is that Law Enforcement shows up and arrests Nicholas. Nicholas is in prison and is wondering if Olive was the one who turned him in. Olive on the other had does everything she can to prove him innocent so he can get out of prison. She makes contacts with an old associate of Nicholas' and an old friend and was told that Nicholas did not commit the 2 murders. Olive manages to get a paper cup that Owen used in jail to be used for a DNA test. A Paralegal decides to help Olive by having a DNA test done secretly and it proved that Owen did the murders. She ended up getting fired because she tried to help. The love that Olive had for Nicholas was amazing!! The ending of this story was awesome!! I am very happy for the way their story ended!! I truly loved it.
There was a time when my debt was the only link we had. There was a time when I couldn’t tell him how much I loved him and he couldn’t tell me. There was a time when I thought I could never have enough money. Now, everything is different.
Nicholas Crawford is a stranger who is becoming more strange with every moment. I used to think I could make a life with him, but now I’m not so sure. We have been through too much. But then he takes a step closer. Then he whispers something into my ear. Then presses his lips to my mouth. Suddenly, everything that was wrong starts to feel so right…

REVIEW: TELL ME TO LIE is the sixth and final instalment in Charlotte Bryd’s contemporary, adult TELL ME romantic suspense serial focusing on con man Nicholas Crawford, and Olive Kernes. TELL ME TO LIE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of instalment number five TELL ME TO FIGHT.
SOME BACKGROUND: When an unknown benefactor pays off Olive Kernes’ student loans, our heroine doesn’t question but soon discovers that the mystery donor is looking for something more. Now that Olive has fallen for the man in question, Olive’s life will be forever tied to Nicholas Crawford, as Nicholas’ own freedom begins to collapse when he becomes the target of the FBI.
NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments there may be some spoilers in my review.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Nicholas and Olive) TELL ME TO LIE follows in the wake of Nicholas Crawford’ s arrest and subsequent imprisonment. Someone has reported Nicholas’ whereabouts to the FBI, and Nicholas finds himself charged with a crime he did not commit. Olive, desperate to prove Nicholas’ innocence begins an investigation of her own, uncovering a dark and dangerous path of secrets and lies leading back to someone she knows. As Olive’s investigation takes an ominous turn, Nicholas’ life hangs in the balance.
Meanwhile, Olive’s best friend Sydney reveals a surprise of her own but is determined to prove she is worthy of love and her own happily ever after.
TELL ME TO LIE is the culmination of one man’s struggle to stay one step ahead of someone determined to destroy his life. At every turn, Nicholas and Olive find themselves on the run, unable to reveal the truth about what happened or why. Charlotte Byrd pulls the reader into an intriguing and suspense filled story of family, betrayal, secrets and lies.
Eccoci all’ultimo libro della serie.
Spectacular! Captivating! Tell Me To Lie by Charlotte Byrd picks up where Tell Me to Fight left off. Nicholas is apprehended and is placed in custody by the FBI for a crime he did not commit. After being barraged by questions, Nicholas refuses to comply knowing not to answer without an attorney present. When they decided to bring Art Hedison, the one man who turned on and betrayed Nicholas to intimidate him, Nicholas sees that Art isn't here to help him rather trying to save himself. Nicholas is torn wondering what happened to Olive when he was taken as he loves her. Is she the one who turned him in? Will he end up in prison with no one to help him? Olive is devastated when she is pulled away from Nicholas and dragged to the police station for questioning, but she is smart enough not to tell them anything they can use against Nicholas. With nothing to charge he with they release her. Not knowing where Nicholas has been taken, she becomes upset thinking that Nicholas may think she betrayed him and once at home she comes to believe that Nicholas is being set up and that many players are involved.
With help from her friend and mother she is on a mission to find out the truth to save the man she loves. When she finds friends from Nicholas's past she is able to shed light on what may have happened. With the assistance from a young woman in the DA's office she is going to get the info they need to prove Nicholas is innocent and who the real killer is. When she confronts and tricks Owen all the pieces of the puzzle comes to light. Will these two finally be together after all the obstacles, lies and betrayals they had to endure? With all of the twists and turns you will be on edge until the end. This was a dynamic, exciting end to this series, Charlotte Byrd has once again amazed her readers. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. Well what an epic ending to a brilliant series of book's 😱😱💗💗 I'm so sad that it has come to an end, I love Olive and Nicholas and their love story, but the way this book is written is absolutely nail bitting. If you've been reading the series so far you'll know that at the end of the last book Nicholas was arrested for the murders of his ex girlfriend Nina and his ex partner in crime David 😱😱😱 He professes his innocence but is this true?? We all know that he's not squeaky clean when it comes to crime, but murder??? Olive is also unsure of his innocence, so set's out on her own investigation to see for herself one way or another if he is innocent, and to try to set him free. But obviously nothing is that simple, and there are twists and turns that you don't see coming. Also her friend Sydney is back, and her relationship with James is on rocky ground, can Olive help her? As well as investigate the case for Nicholas? So much is happening in this book, but it is so well written and flows so well that it works. I'd definitely recommend this series of book's, once you start reading them you won't be able to put them down, if I could give more than five stars then I definitely would 💞💞💞💞💗💗💗💗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ARC. Did I like the story? I freaking loved it. I feel bad for Nicholas. It is an amazing series. This part (like all the previous ones) grabbed my interest from the very first page. The whole series was a blast. With each page my curiosity increased. I love the whole investigation. When I finished reading it, the only word in my mind was - Amazing. The only thing that disappointed me was the part when Nicholas was released from Jail. Prior to it, the story was so intriguing and mysterious but then he got released just like that without any action or drama. I would have preferred the scene like this - After Meredith got fired, Owen get released from prison on bail or something. He went to see Olive. There she accuses him for killing his ex girlfriend and David. He gets angry and try to kill her. Olive try to fight him but his hold is very strong. He holds knife at her throat and confesses everything. As he is about to kill her, some FBI agent came and shoots Owen. FBI agents heard everything that Owen said and Nicholas gets released from Jail.
Waiting for a new series now.

Ready, set and go! Prepare yourself because the sixth book in the series is the stellar culmination of Nicholas and Olive’s story and it is explosive! It is not a standalone. It picks up where the previous book left off and Nicholas is now in prison trying to figure out if Olive betrayed him. Making matters worse is he is put in solitary after an altercation. Olive is doing everything she can to ascertain who is the one who killed Nicholas’ partner and girlfriend. In order to figure out the puzzle, Olive has to look into Nicholas’ past. How far is she willing to go to get the answers she seeks? This is one story packed with lies and love bringing to mind the song Stand By Your Man by Tammy Wynette. This is one book you need to read to live the juiciness. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
The saga about Olive and Nicholas brings happiness to Olive when she connects with her birth mother. She gets the courage to confront her as to why she was given away. Olive realizes that she has found peace with herself. The one person she still needs to see is Nicholas. Nicholas soon finds Olive but it is short lived because the FBI comes and arrest Nicholas. Not knowing what Nicholas was being arrested for he is held in jail for some time. It was soon revealed that Nicholas was being held for two murders, which he said he did not commit. Olive was a good example of ‘Stand by your man’. She starts her quest to prove that Nicholas is innocent. This story ends well where Nicholas is found innocent. Olive and Nicholas soon find the love that they wanted and needed. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for my honest review.
First: No spoilers in my reviews. Second: I received a complimentary copy and this is my honest opinion. Third: Go pick up the first five books in this series and binge read! OMg, what a (finally) great ending to this fab story. You really must read the first four for background and to be able to make the story work, unfortunately, this doesn't work as a standalone, but you won't be sorry you got this series. The characters and stories are wonderful, and you won't be sorry. I have never been disappointed by any of Charlotte Byrd's books and this was no exception. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to wait for this book to come out! Plenty of twists and turns and tugs on your emotions, to keep you guessing with the ending that pulls everything together. Take a chance, you won't be sorry.
Skimmed through the majority of the book because I’m kinda just over the series, but I was relieved that there was a happy ending to the Olive and Nicholas love story lol. Overall, I kind of wish I hadn’t started this series. Here’s why: 1) This series is 6 short books, it could’ve easily been squeezed into 2 or 3 books. 2) The amount of times the author shouted out herself and her own books in the stories creeped me out, idk it was a little off-putting. You don’t expect to see someone writing about themselves from the perspective of the protagonist. 3) I thought there were going to be more romance scenes than there were, or I should say I thought it was going to be way more explicit lol.
Anyways, I’m finally finished this series and I need a break from reading book series for a while after this one 😂

If you thought the final stretch of Nicholas and Olive's story would smooth sailing and/or a bit more chill, you are doomed to disappointment because this book hits the ground running and just doesn't let up. The intensity increases as this couple's story resumes and continues to unfold. Raw emotions, drama, twists, heat and nerve wracking tension will have you completely consumed and fully focused as you read through each page. I just loved this couple so much and I enjoyed every single second of their journey of their epic romance. While I'm sad to say goodbye to them, I must say I was very happy and quite satisfied with how it did end. Now, I am very excited to see what comes next from this author. This is my independent, impartial review.
“Its American Express”, that statement they baffled me as well. What I wouldn’t give to be in such a position.
There are some nail-biting moments in here that will have you on the edge wondering if Nick and Ollie will get there HEA as hurdle after hurdle just keeps on appearing. Ollie is made of hard stuff and keeps on going and looking for answers, thankfully a chance meeting with a paralegal makes the difference between sink or swim.
Unfortunately, things for Sydney are getting worse and she is forced to make a hard decision when her mum and James show their true colours.
Loved this series, the cliff hangers, the twists and revelations just kept me glued from start to finish.
This series has been popping up on my Facebook page for a while. I read the reviews (can't believe everything you read in reviews) and decided why not. I could not put them down!!! My only concern is that the writer should put details into the book. I had go back a few times and make sure I didn't miss anything because one minute the character was in one place and then next paragraph the character was in a totally different place with no mention that the character moved to different location..hopefully that makes sense. The books are interesting and easy to read. This is the first series I have read from this author and I highly recommend this series of books.
So I prefer to review a series after I have finished all the books so I can be fair on an overall opinion. I would say the entire series is a 3.5 and has a 1🌶 to 2🌶 🌶 spice rating, depending on which book it is.
I hate sub plots when they aren't fully explained!!! If you give me more characters, then explain who they are. If you bounce pov, then lable who it is talking. The last 2 books had many rabbit trails. I feel like there was so much crammed into the end that it just kinda whomped it out for me. It was a great 6 books that are quick, interesting reads. The first 4 books are fabulous. It's really just 5&6. I didn't really enjoy. If you need a quick, morally gray relationship, read this series is definitely worth a gander.
This series, is well, I don’t really know. I liked it,but some part of these books rub me the wrong way. I found it very annoying when the author mentioned herself in almost every book. It took me out of the world the book was in and thrust me back into reality. And I found it very odd. I did very much enjoy nick and olive and their story, but I feel that a lot of their dialogues and the descriptions of things seemed to repeat over and over again. The same words being used every time to describe things really just dulled what could have been an amazing moment in the story. I didn’t hate the series but didn’t love the way it was written. Such a good storyline just feels like a lot of missed opportunities.
The final part of Olive and Nicolas’s story and what an ending it is!
Nicolas is in prison, not knowing if Olive betrayed him or not, he is not having an easy time and after being attacked is put in solitary confinement.
Olive, is determined to get Nicolas released and tries to figure out who murdered his partner and his girlfriend, to do this she seeks out people from Nicolas’s past, people who she really really doesn’t want to upset, but she puts everything on the line.
The story is full of corruption, lies and the love of one woman for her man!
The ending is perfect, and I am so happy to have read it.
