On a silent Christmas night, a young boy sleeps with his colorful teddy bear named Peef. Santa visits the room while the boy is asleep in hopes of fixing the wears and tears of the little bear. But Peef does not want Santa to fix him. He believes that his tears are signs of all the fun adventures and love that he has shared with the boy. He doesn't want anything about him to change.
I really enjoyed the story by Tom Hegg. I remember reading this book as a child, and still have my stuffed Peef that goes with this book. I liked Peef's look on life. That he has happy with the way he looks because it is an example for the fun he has had with the boy.

My daughter picked this book out from a Little Free Library, and it'll be going back right where it came from. The concept is lifted straight from Velveteen Rabbit, but the text is versified in a painfully forced parody of "The Night Before Christmas". The art is competent but uninspired; too bad the poetaster responsible for the rest of this dog's breakfast couldn't reach such elevated heights.

This 2nd book in the series I thought was even better than the first. The rhyming verse was a little freer, but the story was even more heartwarming, which was a feat!

This is a weird book and Peef is a weird name. The concept is sweet though.

What can I say? It's a children's book and it's about a bear who learns The key to satisfaction and fulfillment. However, it is presented in a way that a child and his father can enjoy together.
