From the moment Harper Holland steps off the plane in her home state of Montana, she is plunged back into the world of shifters and danger that she left behind. Forced to return home for the first time in over a decade, old memories and old fears are drudged up. After her abusive father passes away, Harper must deal with the messes he left behind, no matter how much she resents him for being the monster responsible for her mother’s death.
Harper wants to stay as far away from the shifter life as she can, for fear of becoming just like her father. Having never embraced her inner wolf, Harper is finding it difficult to keep her caged once she gets home. The new local Sheriff, Ezra, is a bear shifter and just the kind of man Harper doesn’t need in her life. Unfortunately, staying away from him isn’t an option when someone is trying to kill her.

Harper had an abusive father while growing up. Her and her siblings eventually moved away and now with the death of her father, Harper has to go back to the family home and sort out the details of the will and funeral. The chief of police in the small town is helping her get settled in while fighting feeling for her because he knows she won't be staying long. No need to get attached when Harper wants nothing to do with her past home.
What a first couple of days...someone keeps messing with her. Too many "accidents" are happening around her. Thankfully the chief of police (Ezra) wants to help get to the bottom of it.
I don't want to give details away but this was a great read! I just know there will be more to come.
