Since her dad started going out with Samantha, young Cat and her feisty cat, Sushi, have had plenty of time to entertain themselves. But with Samantha comes her video game-addicted son, Virgil. Now, Virgil, Cat, and her cat must choose between banding together to fight against boredom or compete for the run of the house. Just when things are finally going smoothly, the clan takes a Euro trip that the continent might not be fully prepared for!
Christophe Cazenove was born in Martigues in 1969. A lifelong comics fan, Christophe's first efforts led to a twelve year career … in supermarkets! Toward the tenth year of his employment in frozen foods, one of his projects attracted the attention of comics writer and editor Olivier Sulpice: Predictions of Nostra. After that, he regularly worked for French publisher Bamboo putting his humor to work on series like Gendarmes, the Fire, the Driving School and finally The Sisters. He also participates in the collection "Sport" with Basketball Dunk while writing less thematic stories, such as Area 51. He is also co-writer of the collection "Fades". More recently, he wrote the screenplay for Eden Globe-Trotter, The Adventures of Gullia, My Mother and Me.
Graphic Novel I received an electronic ARC from Papercutz through Edelweiss+ Cat and Cat are back for their third adventure. This time Dad becomes serious about a woman and the adventures take off. Cat now has a "brother" in her life and Virgil and she bond over their adjustment time as their parents form closer bonds. The humor continues as Sushi rules the new home too. Cazenove pulls readers in with the artwork and the funny adventures.
I think this is the best volume out of the three currently released. The majority of the jokes are funny (the ones at the girlfriend’s expense and Cat feeling ignored are awkward), and the artwork has a snazzy, cartoony style.
There’s even a loose story arc about the father getting a girlfriend. And... THEY FINALLY INCREASED THE FONT SIZE! It’s easy to read as opposed to that awful fine print from before. Thank you, Wilson Ramos Jr., the letterer for this volume. Slight downside: some of the line art feels out of align and out of focus. Maybe from trying to enlarge the original file?
Another fun instalment in the Cat & Cat series, this one centred around Cat's dad getting a girlfriend and the merging of two different families. I like how relatable this was and Sushi's exaggerated yet also somehow realistic were as fun to see as always.
This one had a bit more of an overarching storyline than the first two. There are some new recurring characters that add to the fun. I am starting to get slightly annoyed at how much they accommodate Sushi's bad behavior (like I get that it's a comic but still)
