OH MY GOD!!! THE BEST VOLUME SO FAR. VERY ADDICTING TO READ.

This by far manages to make me almost screaming and get goosebumps everywhere. Just when I thought I could predicts the twist, I mean I know the plot twist will comes again. But that twist at the end is very, absolutely mind-blowing. What the freak??

I already know that something great, very exciting (in my opinion at least) is going to happen in the next volume!

To be honest, this volume didn't feel that special, the next special test occurred but only halfway through and for the previous volumes it always managed to end each volume after finishing a special test, but not this time which is kinda disappointing and also therefore felt more boring.

But I did notice that Ayanokouji made more friends, especially ones that he calls by their first name (though the idea wasn't his and is a rule for the friend group he entered). This volume also showed that even though Ayanokouji seems to have no interest in social interactions he does feel some kind of joy of experiencing them.

It seemed I was somehow developing a social life. This’d be normal for anyone else, but I trembled with a kind of excitement I’d never experienced before.

Also, Ayanokouji's birthday was mentioned in this volume and something unexpected happened, which felt weirdly wholesome.

Kushida's past was also mentioned in this volume so I really can't complain, though it was already hinted on what it could possibly be so it wasn't that surprising (even the first time I watched it in the anime wasn't surprising).
I was also able to see inside Kushida's head (her thoughts) which I couldn't in the anime. This was somewhat insightful as I could for once see her own opinion of herself, but it honestly didn't change the way I perceived Kushida.

Only other thing I can complain about in this volume except that it cut of the special test was Satou. She was annoying, she was unnecessary and there was even a moment where Ayanokouji clearly said no and she didn't move an inch, which felt like she was harassing him indirectly and it made me dislike her even more.

Satou, quickly latching on to my arm.
“Huuuh?!” Airi yelped.
“H-hey, knock it off,” I told Satou.
“Huh? Why? This is okay, isn’t it?” she asked. Satou sounded calm and composed, but her face was red. She was trying a little too hard.

For those who might not understand my point as it isn't that direct and just a short encounter (fortunately) was how he said 'knock it off' and she just answered with: 'This is okay, isn't it?' as if he didn't just say no. When he thought that she was 'trying a little too hard' one can also see how he didn't like how Satou behaved in this situation.
After all it's just fiction and I also noticed that such stuff happens every once in a while in anime so maybe I'm just going too hard on this, but such (usually short) moments really put me off.

So to put everything together: There were definitely interesting things in this volume as well, but I liked how the previous volumes were structured more which leads me to give this volume 3 stars. I expected for this volume to end the special test altogether and not extend it to the next one, specially as it isn't such a big special test like the island one, for instance.

Side note: It's funny, that for this volume Horikita is reading 'And Then There Were None' by Agatha Christie, which I was actually also planning to read.

Not exactly a favorite arc of mine because written exams, no matter how hard you try to add in some spice, will never be as spicy or exciting as special tests. But what this volume does is certainly build up the Ayanokouji vs. Ryuuen fight that may be coming in the next novels, but it was still a bit boring. Given that the previous installment was a hell of a ride, this one was pale in comparison.

Nonetheless, still great, though. Yukimura is one of my faves and I’m happy he’s in a friend group now with others from the Ayanokouji gang. Hasebe and Miyake are also interesting and fun characters that I would love to see and get to know more.

Also, I must commend Syougo Kinugasa. Despite the fact that the novel is narrated mostly by Ayanokouji, the readers are still kept in the dark regarding his actions. In this novel, it was him transacting with Ryuuen under the table. It surprised even the readers who thought they knew Ayanokouji’s plans. This has happened in previous installments but it still amazes me every time.

I also do not know what to feel about Karuizawa. I sense her growing feelings for Ayanokouji but Ayanokouji isn’t that great to have so many girls after him—Sakura, Karuizawa, and Satou. Judging by how this volume ended, it seems that the next installments will focus on Karuizawa.

Ok, so this volume had a lot of twists and turns and quite a few surprises. This volume mostly seemed to be alot of setup for the main clash which is expected to happen in the next volume. We had the internal duel between Horikita and Kuishida along with Ryuuen desperately trying to snuff out X, the mastermind of class D. So much backstabbing sheesh. Onward to the next volume.

The exam premises was quite unique in this volume and surprising tactics has been used as well. As we dive deeper into the story, characters become intertwined while different relations started forming among them. As far as it goes, I am still having a difficult gasping the main characters true nature. On top of that the author has really managed to conceal his personality.

Wow. It really keeps getting better and better. And man, Ayanokouji really is an unreliable narrator and I'm loving it.

First off, I love the newly formed "Ayanokouji Group". And the nickname Haruka gave him, "Kiyopon". And the added backstory of Yukimura was so sad and I love how everyone respected his wish to have him not be named by his real given name "Teruhiko" since his mother had left his family behind, but instead they respected his wish to be called "Keisei" since it was the name his dad had in mind for him. I'm also a bit surprised Sakura was able to join their group and was finally able to break out of her shell a little. I feel bad that she likes Ayanokouji because it's obvious he doesn't see her that way, and if anything, the only person he might seem interested in is Kei.

As for Kushida, ugh, I hate her so much. Her so-called "dark past" and the reason why she wants it kept hidden from everyone and she despises Horikita just for attending the same middle school as her is just so stupid. At least Kushida admitted that her past isn't really that dark or bad, but to her, it means everything. And her cooperation with Ryuuen is also annoying but hey, at least Ryuuen isn't following her every command and vice versa.

One thing I thought was adorable was the fact Kei was the only one who knew when Ayanokouji's birthday was and she was the only one who wished him a happy belated birthday via text. Of course Ayanokouji had to delete the message soon afterwards but he did hesitate to remove it.

Hirata figuring out that Ayanokouji was the true mastermind in class D and was the one pulling Horikita's strings was a bit of a surprise but it would be even more of a surprise if he didn't figure that out. He would be plain stupid if he didn't figure that out eventually.

Horikita outsmarting both Ryuuen and Kushida was impressive. Even Ayanokouji was surprised by it, admitting to himself that he had underestimated her. Can't really blame her for having a backup plan, I mean, Kushida is willing to "make a deal with the devil" (aka Ryuuen) in order to force Horikita out of the school so I can understand why Horikita would make sure that wouldn't happen.

Hiyori was an intriguing character but I still think Arisu is better. I want to know more about Hiyori though, and I hope to see more of her and Arisu in the near future.

That ending though. Ugh, I wish I could get my hands on the 7th volume but unfortunately it's sold out on Amazon. Ugh. I can't wait to see Ryuuen try (and probably fail) to go after Kei. I really hope Ayanokouji upholds his end of the bargain and saves her like he's saved Horikita many times before. Except this time I'm hoping he also does it because he's starting to develop romantic feelings for Kei (possibly, I mean, she seems the most likely person he'd end up with, sorry Sakura, sorry Satou.) It's obvious he harbors no romantic feelings whatsoever towards Satou. I even got the feeling he's found her annoying, which I don't blame him, she's actively been trying to pursue him and he's been trying to avoid her without hurting her feelings. As for Sakura, he probably sees her as a friend or maybe even less than that since they barely interact anymore but that might change soon, considering they are now both members of the "Ayanokouji Group".

I’ve gotta say, Classroom of the Elite has some of the most interesting characters, especially when it comes to the women of the series. We start off this one from the POV of Kushida, one of the more popular kids at the school, and the sweetheart of Class D. Getting a look into who she is, not through the eyes of Ayanokouji, but herself, was rather revealing.

And that’s not all we get in this volume. We get to see yet another special test thrown at Class D. With the traitor revealed and actively working against Horikita, things remain tense, despite this volume having a more slice-of-life feel to it throughout. We get to see new friendships form, we see characters grow, and we see more schemes!

The character development for the various students in Class D is something I look forward to with each volume. I’m always curious to see how everyone changes, be it for better or worse. It’s a treat to see characters slowly but surely becoming better people, the emphasis on slowly. I don’t mind the slow burn though. It makes revelations that much more satisfying.

Another day, another special exam. However, that isn’t the only problem Class D is facing. Ryuuen, the tyrant leader of Class C has made it his mission to figure out who is maneuvering in the shadows of Class D. His way of thinking makes for an interesting almost cat-and-mouse game between him and Ayanokouji. I can’t say I approve of Ryuuen’s tactics, but the climax of the showdown between Class C and D’s leaders is shaping up to be an epic one.

The next installment promises another look into Ayanokouji’s past (always a welcome treat), and an interesting battle between him and a “certain enemy.” Color me intrigued!

This volume was really good at least in my opinion and I'm also kinda biased considering I already read all of the volumes currently out right now. I didn't find any specific volume to be not good while of course there are a few that stand out more than others. This volume was really interesting considering Nagumo becoming the new student council president. I'm fairly sure most of us are aware of Nagumo's intentions and how he plans to turn the school into a meritocracy which has completely changed how the school has been in the past school year. I personally like how these forces change everyone it really makes the story more interesting and fun to read, at least for me.
I think it's good that they talked about kushidas past so we could get a better understanding of her mentality and how she feels about herself and others. Her past definitely plays a major part in the story considering they've foreshadowed events that might occur related to her past. We are all aware that kushida wants to get rid of anyone who knows about her past so the fact that Horikita roped Ayanokoji into this mess means more content and drama which I personally would love to see how he would handle this situation without drawing too much attention to himself.

This has to be one of my favourites in the series thus far. Rather than being thrown into the minds of certain characters and their schemes and plots for the finals, the thing that most endeared me to vol. 6 was the Ayanokoji Group. I enjoyed seeing Ayanokoji make friends with loners just like him, people he didn't have to try too hard around to fit in with like say, Ike and Yamauchi for example. The characters of the group itself are interesting to read about as well. The awkwardness and sillness of the nicknames helped class D look like normal teenagers living their normal high school life rather than masterminds orchestrating espionage, or warring with other classes to become the top.

Another thing I liked about this, as well as all the novels in general, is how much more detailed it is than the anime. I'm happy that certain scenarios were expanded upon, and even things that never made it into the anime at all were revealed. The groundwork was groundworking. Hah...

...There was a plot twist near the ending chapters that almost made me gasp. I'm really happy I started the light novels, and both look forward to, and dread the following volume.

Este volumen se centra en el examen "Paper Shuefle" y la formación del grupo Ayanokoji.

Comenzamos con el cambio de Presidente del Consejo Estudiantil, entrando más en escena Nagumo de la calse 2-A, y las nuevas politicas de meritocracia que quiere implementar. Tambien aparece la primera interesada romanticamente en Ayanokoji, aunque se podria decir que tiene buenos gustos, siento que solo le gusta el ideal que tiene de él, y no se da cuenta del gran blanco al que ha apuntado.

Es emociante la caseria de Ryuuen a el que mueve los hilos en la clase D, aunque para el lector puede ser frustrante que no apunte directamente ha Ayanokoji, ese es la fachada que ha creado.

Me gusta que Ayanokoji tenga un nuevo grupo de amigos, ya que el grupo de Sudou me parecen aprovechados que no lo consideran un amigo de verdad, con este nuevo grupo recién Ayanokoji esta empezando a experimentar una vida escolar normal.

The series keeps getting better and better with each volume. Honestly, I love it so far. This volume can be defined as the calm before the storm.

The exam was unique. The strategies were excellent, and hadI watched the anime, which would've been surprising. This volume also digs deeper with the character lore.

The formation of Ayanokoji Group is superb. Loved that in the anime, and the same goes for the light novel. The group brings much more than just Horikita. It helps to show character growth.

The cat and mouse chase between Ryueen and Ayanokoji, aka X, is so fascinating. The direct and forceful acts of Ryueen are the cold thinking of Ayanokoji. The next volume would be even better. Kiyopon for the WIN!

En primer lugar, estoy muy contento de que haya habido una continuación del problema Horikita-Kushida. Por fin se descubre que Kushida utilizó las "verdades" que le habían confiado sus compañeros para destruir a su antigua clase, cuando estos se volvieron en contra de ella al descubrir su blog en el que se desahogaba; además, tanto Horikita como Ayanokōji reconocen el peligro que verdaderamente representa Kushida por la posición que esta ostenta en la clase.

Además, también creo sinceramente que Ayanokōji no esperaba la táctica que se sacó Horikita de la manga para detener a Ryuuen y a Kushida, y eso lo obligó a tomar las contramedidas pertinentes.

Por último, hay que decir que el vistazo a la relación de Sakayanagi con la Clase A, y especialmente Kamuro y Katsuragi, dice mucho de ella como persona, incluso aunque el foco del volumen no haya estado en ella.

Syougo Kinugasa considers this volume as the "calm before the storm," and rightfully so as we will see the story slowly setting things up for something big.

It's the Final Examinations arc and Class D is off to face challenges once more as we see more twists and turns from the school—this time, on the final exam guidelines. Here, we will see Kushida and Horikita clash it off in an attempt to finally resolve their problems.

Ryuuen still has tricks up on his sleeves and after the incidents during the sports festival, he is now more determined than ever to find "X", the so-called mastermind of Class D.

The story made interesting developments in this book and I'm really excited to start the next volume right away.

In this volume we get a needed confrontation and a desperate action by a ruthless enemy, it's a fantastic story told and by now you'll be in love with a girl who is best and you'll see the groundwork for something that I absolutely hate.

we get the beginnings of the Ayanokoji group in this volume and that I have both happiness and sadness about, ouch...

For everything going on in this volume, it is a cornerstone of the reason I absolutely hate someone now, funnily enough it's not something I would've said I'd have found myself doing with the reason behind it. But this volume brings that to ahead, I mean she even freaking says that she'll abide by her word, but only for HER, no one else and the (we'll GET there)

NOW we're cooking. In theory, these books are about teenage sociopaths scheming against one another in order to take their class to the top of the school, but the actual core of the series is a robot boy trying to learn how to love. This particular volume has Ayanokouji potentially making some friends, and let me tell you, that's a lot more exciting than anything else that's happened so far. I do not care which class ends up in class A. I do care whether or not this wretched superhuman with a Jim Halpert haircut figures out how to melt the ice around his bum ass heart.

I can't quite tell if I'm liking this better or I just prefer more academics in my school stories. Either way, getting into the politics of dirty-dealing and studying hit a high point here. Fun stuff.

I'm really like it. In this novel ayanokouji find a group that he truly belongs to. A group where he does not need to be talkative, just the way he is. Also in this one, i think the conflict is not too hard and class D can finish it on its own. What make it interesting is how relationship between kushida and horikita, also that ayanokouji already prepare a plan if things get worse.

Another very solid entry into the series. We get to learn more of the background of some of our cast and yet another special exam... or at least the first part of it. Things are heating up and pressure is mounting. It seems like it is set to explode in volume 7. Will class D finally move up? Stay tuned!

This book barely nudges over book 7 and 7.5 because it's the first time where we see the whole class go against others in unison. How the developments of Horikita and others have paid off to help them to rise up and fight together as a whole. Not only that but the "side" challenges in 2 characters was super entertaining and interesting. One of my favorite volumes ever.

A very good arc. It focuses on more agreeable characters and makes some less annoying while also having your usual excellent deception and intrigue. One gripe is while I can only speak for the amazon e-book there was a good couple dozen very annoying errors such as wrong names words with numbers in the middle of them

Twists and turns all over the place. My mind is completely boggled. The fun thing about this book is every character could, for a glorious moment, be the mastermind of their own. Can't wait to see the next volume, where the uproar will be at its peak.

Several characters have had some character development thanks to the events in volume 5. Ayanokoji also got more popular thanks to the events in volume 5, while Ryuuen is hunting for the class D mastermind. The story is progressing excitingly.

I liked that Ajanokouji actually made friends in this one. I wanted the Paper Shuffle to be more interesting than it was, but the unity of the class was really nice to see and FINALLY having Class D beat Class C was spectacular. Ready for everything to fall to shit next book.

I feel like Horikita Suznne really stepped up to the plate this volume and showed us that she got! Kushida and her dynamic was super intriguing and this exam was so amazing 👏. The Ayanokōji group finally formed which was cool to see as well. Really great read!
