Axel is book one in the Single Daddy Shifters series by Tasha Black.
I wanted to like this novel. Sexy single shifter dad’s. Ya! Who doesn’t like a single sexy shifter daddy, but it turns out I couldn’t finish.
It’s got no depth. No plot. No personalities to the characters. Just bland. My other issue is that the leads don’t know each other and on the first night they are in Axel’s house they kiss and hop into bed. That’s just way to quick.
I won't be reading anymore in the Single Daddy Shifters series. Axel was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

Man am I on a streak of terrible books…. Again, did I read something different than y’all?!?
Hardly any character depth.

Delilah might kid herself that she is conning bear-shifter Axel, but in fact, he and baby Noah are actually stealing her heart instead. Axel adores his son Noah and becoming a dad is certainly the best thing he has ever done. But raising a child on your own is hard and so he decides to get a line-in nanny so that he can concentrate on his business running a garage and working as a mechanic there. When Deliah turns up, Noah loves her and Axel's bear just goes wild at the thought of curvy Deliah. His bear doesn't care if she has secrets, he just doesn't want to let her go. Deliah is not into commitment - she lives her life as a con-artist and has only one policy - never con someone who can't afford it. When she bails on a con for that policy she ends up in the Pennsylvanian town of Tarker’s Hollow playing along to the mistake of thinking she is the new nanny. But as she starts to fall for Noah and his very sexy daddy Axel she finds it harder and harder to remember this is just pretending. When Delilah’s treacherous partners track her down, her fragile new world is suddenly in danger. Can the bear shifter and the con artist trust each other with the truth in time to save everything that is important to them? Or will she run away with the big bear’s heart?
This was a lovely story that had hidden depths with the separate story elements running in parallel as the story developed. I loved the way she quickly grew attached to Noah and Axel, plus the way he then found out another but still accepted her for what she is now. Well written is was very enjoyable and a nice light read that will give you a great distraction from real life. Does contain a little sexual content.

Let's go on a wild ride with Delilah - a con artist who stumbled into the wrong job as a Nanny, and Axel - a hot, single daddy bear shifter who mistook her for his hired help. With a car to ditch and a place to hide, Delilah dropped it like it's hot on Axel's mechanic shop. But as she got to know Axel and his adorable little cub Noah, she realized that maybe she didn't want to con her way out of this one. As they grew closer, Axel's bear sensed that Delilah was his mate, but he couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something. The only thing that was crystal clear was how much Delilah cared for Noah and Axel. But when her past finally caught up to her, Axel knew one thing for sure - he had to protect his family, and that included his new mate. Looks like Axel won't be a single daddy shifter for much longer! And it didn't. Daddy bear stakes his claim. And when Delilah found out that Axel is a bear shifter, well, let's say she took it as a momma bear would. Acceptance and admiration.
It may sound exagerrated but I am head-over-heels for this book! It's got all the warm fuzzies that make my heart flutter with delight. Tasha Black has got it going on with her Found family and slice of life tropes - she's my reigning queen of feel-good reads!

I love every series from Tasha black that I have read. And this is the beginning of a new series. What’s better than a hot, sexy shifter, then one that has a baby with him. And that’s what Axel has. A big gorgeous, bear shifter, with his little baby Noah. Delilah is on the run from a con gone. Bad. Not exactly what she had planned but it had worked out perfectly where she was going to be the nanny to a gorgeous little boy, and an even more gorgeous father. Axel and Delilah are perfect for each other. Delilah has problems following her and she knows they’ll catch up to her. She has a good heart, and that is what has gotten her into trouble with all the cons she has polled. Her partners aren’t willing to let her go so easy, and she wants nothing to do with them, and she especially doesn’t want Noah or Axel to get caught in the middle of it. Really nice story with a great happily ever after.

He's a single dad and loves every minute with his son. No matter how hard it is. A live-in nanny will solve the problem. The fact that she isn't really the nanny but a con artist in hiding brings its own problems and rewards. First, both baby and daddy (oh yeah, and daddy's inner bear) really like her. Second, she really likes them but has partners after her to fulfill a con. Third, the real nanny's delay is going to come to an end.
Can they work through it all and find a life together?
As usual, the author has given her fans a touching story with loveable characters and in this case a sweet little baby. Not much sexier than a big man holding a little baby. The steam is hot, the feelings touching. Can she find the good side she's never been allowed to show?

Axel needed some help. He needed someone that was responsible enough to watch over his enfant son while he worked. Delilah wanted to unload her car and get as far away from the con that she had been in. When Axel mistakenenly thinks Delilah is the nanny he has hired nothing goes as planned and a big misunderstand just starts to snowball.
Oh you know things are not going to go well when she lied. Delilah thought she would be in the clear but nope. One look as Noah and Axel and she was a goner. You knew this was going to get dicey. There is a few of twists and turns with one issue or another. Delilah just seemed to have so much going on in her past. Axel was a great guy and he was caring, understanding. You would never find a man like. LOL It was a sweet story.

Axel is a single father who is also a bear shifter. He is waiting for the nanny he hired to arrive to take care of his son Noah. In walks Delilah, she is not the nanny he hired but she is a con artist so with a little help she can pull off being a nanny for a little while. Axel discovers Delilah has been lying to him but his bear has decided Delilah is his mate. Noah is happy and appears to love and trust Delilah. Axel and his bear feel Delilah is a good person she just has some secrets. Trouble comes to Axel's door looking for Delilah and he will do what is required to protect her and his son. Will Axel be able to trust Delilah and will Delilah come clean about her past? Love this book, it is a great read with wonderful characters. IF you love shifters this is a must read.

Get ready for another page-turning must read! “AXEL” is the first fantastic story in a new PNR series, ‘Single Daddy Shifters’ and it grabbed me from page one! Another fun, romantic, fresh story with relatable characters that practically jump off the pages! The H/h’s in these books are down to earth, plus now we have a sweet, sexy dad and a new feisty woman ;) The ever present witty dialogue & amazing attention-to-detail with surprises are a given in this author’s work! I highly recommend this & any book by Tasha Black, to adult fans of fiction and I can’t wait for more but I always will! ;)

Another excellent start to a shifter series. Axel is great and has a calm demeanor in spite of his capability. I love that he recognizes exactly who Delilah really is. I felt sorry for Delilah but she is a realistic example that rising above your upbringing is possible at any age. She's habitually a smart trickster and her actions are a bit hilarious. I like her though. Noah is a sweetie pie. Lots of warm, happy feelings, a bit of action or (barracuda) drama and wrapped in a short yet full romance that is so sweet and heartwarming. Love these characters! Tarkers Hollow has always been a favorite of mine. Axel, baby Noah and Delilah all fit the bill perfectly. My only complaint is that I want more!! LoL. I would highly recommend any of Ms. Black's other series!! Especially the 300 Moons series. (Also set in Tarkers Hollow) I have loved everything that I've read by Ms. Black. She has become one of my "go to"/ "one click" authors. You should not be disappointed. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

4 a good while I was actually bored cause it seem like there's much action in it like she writes in her books. He's a good dad and his son is adorable. It's messed up that her stupid ass mom did that 2 her 4 her whole life and who the hell is that asshole guy with her mom? Even though she knew it was wrong, between him and especially the baby she learned 2 b strong 4 herself and protect as much as she can and repay 4 how he treated her so much better than she ever had in her whole life. It only picked up 4 me toward the end.

What a heartfelt story of a bear shifter single Dad and the con-artist who steals his heart and soul when she stumbles into his life. Delilah is trying to get out of the business when she happens upon Tarker's Hollow and Axel's garage. She is mistaken for the new nanny and decides to use the opportunity to hideout. Little does she know how quickly she will become attached to the sweetheart of a bear and his adorable son. When her past catches up to her will Axel be able to save the day and have the life he always dreamed of for him and his son.

Delilah is sort of on the run the con she was running didn’t work so she needs a place to dump the car that her mark gave her for a fake flute that she made him believe was worth 20,000 dollars. So she dumps it in front of Axel’s garage. That’s when he sees her and thinks she’s the nanny. So she just goes with it. But then trouble starts to happen. But she has feeling for Axel and his son Noah and can’t go through with it. So enjoy the read and see if they get a HEA!!

Tasha Black takes great strides in showing that even were bears can find their true mates where they least expected. We meet Axel and his simply adorable son Noah. Axel is waiting for the new Nanny to show up for the new job. Delilah is a con artist with a conscience. She pretends to be the Nanny and is taken by surprise by Noah. She fall heads over heels for both of them . This is a real sweet endearing story. A must read with a different twist.⚘⚘⚘

Better than expected!
I don't mean that in a negative way. I love Tasha Block's books, but this was even better than I imagined. Delilah pulls into a sleepy town and she is mistaken for Axel's new nanny. She's really a con artist, but she is a good person and wants out. Axel figures out that she is hiding something from him, but his bear knows she's a good person too. I really liked both of these characters and was pleased with the ending.

This is a sweet romance between a bear shifter and a con woman. Axel is a mechanic and has an adorable baby boy. He needs a nanny and, while waiting for the nanny to arrive, Delilah, a con woman trying to break away from her criminal past, somehow ends up as the nanny. Both the baby and Axel love her immediately and, in return, Delilah falls for them both also. There are some issues for them both to overcome. Loved all the characters and the ending!

This was a great fast insta love story. Delilah ends up in an unknown town that feels like home but can't be as she's never had a home. Axel is waiting for his banny to arrive and mistakes Delilah for her when she's just trying to dump a car and run. Fate has a funny way of throwing a monkey wrench in best laid plans.

I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between the characters of Delilah and Axel is great, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action and intrigue. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.

Enough intrigue to hold your interest and curiosity without being a confusing read. You hope for the best outcome & as you continue to read you understand how it will be achieved. Also it is good to read about men who are self reliant & competent around children, the old image needed to end!

A heartwarming short tale
I didn’t want to like Delilah at first. It’s hard to be sympathetic for a conwoman. Especially since Axel was such a sweetheart who had been done wrong already. But this story and the way we experience their lives through these words warms your heart and makes you care for these characters. Great afternoon read.

This was a really good story. It has a perfect small town, a great hero, and a con artist with a conscience for a heroine. The heroine of course straightens out her life, and the romance is quick but sweet. The baby is pretty awesome too! And of course, the HEA is perfect!

This was a fun quick read, and I did like it. I wished that we would have seen just a bit more into the individual lives of these characters. These two were very likable. I wished that there had been more of an established relationship between them, but again it was meant to entertain. I do like this author and she always has such creative twists.

This was a cute little story. Delilah is a women that can adapt to any situation. She was raised to do just that. So to be mistaken as the nanny for Noah is just another gig she will do. His father Axel is another story though. He’s hot and nice plus a great single father. She never had a chance with these two. She fell for them. Who wouldn’t.

Really very disappointed with this book as I normally like books by Tasha.
It seemed very, very short, with unrealistic views and made me feel that the Author just wanted to get some stuff out for the money. I will definitely revise my thoughts about this Author going forward.
Customers need to feel they get something when reading... Sorry Tasha.

I'm always so happy to return to Tarker’s Hollow. Axel is one sexy, sweet and protective bear shifter. My heart just melt in how much he loves his son. Delilah is witty, strong and has a secret. This is one sweet single daddy shifter book. I can't wait to read more.
