'Til death do us part...
When a mysterious stranger convinces Meadow Jenkins to escape her volatile marriage, she is determined to leave everything behind and build a better life for herself. Meadow fakes her own death to flee from the abuse of her husband in a soul-searching journey across the country.

While on the run, she creates a fragile new life as Ravyn Glover. A new name, a new life, and a new image are all a desperate attempt to conceal her whereabouts from the most dangerous man she knows, her husband.

Tired of running, she finds solace in a small lake town in California, where she befriends the local bartender, Andy. Despite her determination to avoid personal ties until her husband is safely locked away, she slowly lets down her guard and plants her roots in the warm embrace of this close-knit community.

Haunted by the shreds of vivid memories of life with her husband, Ravyn can't avoid looking over her shoulder. She craves a life that's normal, but when Nate is released on bond, awaiting trial, Ravyn's dark past threatens to reclaim her. Nate knows her truth. He knows Meadow Jenkins is not dead and he will stop at nothing to find her. The big question is, will he search for her to prove his innocence or will he search for her to honor their vows of 'til death do us part?

TL Fisher is an author of angsty love stories and domestic thrillers.

I am an avid believer in the philosophy; life isn’t about finding yourself as much as it is about creating who you want to be. We are the architect of our own destiny.

When I tell a story, my main goal is to make you feel. If you haven’t laughed out loud, breathed a gooey sigh, curled up in a blanket with the night light left on or wiped snot from your nose, I feel like I haven’t done my job.

My motto in life is—when nothing goes right—go left.

My best advice—never make eye contact while eating a banana.

Meadow is both physically and psychologically abused by her bully husband, Nate. She puts up with this treatment until her friend, Matti, finds Meadow near death on her kitchen floor. It truly is time for Meadow to leave...

It only took 2 weeks of marriage to find out what a mean, money-grabbing bully Meadow had married. Yet, now Meadow is afraid to leave Nate - if he finds her - she is sure that he will kill her. In an unlikely turn of events, Meadow receives a phone call from her mom's lawyer, Mr. Kershaw. Meadow's mom had previously died and she had no idea who/where her father was. She finds out. And... she becomes Ravyn…

Exceptionally engaging plot and excellent character development.

RECOMMEND!

Wow a powerful psychological thriller about domestic abuse. I couldn't put it down. A heart breaking story of abuse and what a person has to endure before they finally break free. Fisher tells a masterful story that pulls you in and has you reaching for the tissues while pulling for Ravyn. I would highly recommend this book. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

So many twist and turns. I loved how just when you thought you knew what was gonna happen it would go in a whole other direction. Nate was such a monster and Meadow was his little bird to beat around on and get a high from it. But then comes Ravyn and she is no little bird no more she has grown and has more confidence. I loved this book.

This was a very good short story! There were plenty of twists and turns, suspense, and you find yourself hoping the main character can survive. This is the 2nd book I have read from this author, and I wasn’t disappointed. I love the style of writing.. very descriptive, and makes u relate to the character. I read this in one sitting.. highly recommend

I just received the Kindle edition today from the author. Once I started I couldn't put it down until I finished it! I had to know if Meadow was going to survive the nightmare she lived in. If you have ever been in a domestic violence situation and lived you will understand this. This book has the power to put you right there in the middle of it. You will feel her fear as if it's your own. Thank you T.L. for sharing this amazing and haunting story with us.

When Ravyn learns to fly, there will be no more wandering in the Meadow. After changing her name and fleeing from a desperate situation, Ravyn exposes you to the vulnerability of abuse, loss, and the courage to live. Running from her abusive husband, Ravyn discovers just how strong she can be, and her strength will be tested along the way. TL Fisher intricately weaves a tale that will have you turning the pages with reckless abandon. Ravyn’s flight becomes your plight until the very end.

I going to be honest here; I'm not sure where I got my copy of this book. Most likely as an ARC from the author, but I can't find my email to confirm that. Wherever I got it, this is my honest opinion. This story started so VERY well. It is intense, emotional, haunting, with a protagonist who will rip your heart out with sympathy, and an antagonist whose heart you would love to rip out. All of the characters are very well written and for the most part, the dialogue flows easily and naturally. So why only 3 stars? The last third of the book is nowhere near as good as the beginning. I can't explain all my problems with the story without creating spoilers, but it felt like Ms. Fisher got to a certain point and realized that she was getting close to her maximum word count so she began to throw things together to finish up. Think of all the cliches you know of in spousal abuse fiction and you can probably figure out what happened. I was so disappointed. For a while, I was making comparisons to the movie Sleeping With the Enemy, but it fell so flat. I gather that I am definitely in the minority here from all the 5-star ratings, and I don't want to minimize what abuse victims go through, but this was a cliche, wrapped up in too many coincidences. Hopefully, the next book will be more fully developed.

The first 40% of the book didn't really "match" the cover, and the gothic tone I would assume the book would have, but after that I thought the cover was perfect! (I know, don't judge a book by it's cover - but I wanted to mention it.)

At one point she gets a kitten - literally one page before that she thinks about getting a pet and then decides against it. I feel like that whole part, where she decides against a pet, should be taken out as apparently it's a moot point!

I felt the ending was rushed, but I did like that it tied up all the loose ends and questions I had in my mind!

Overall a good read, well written, what I would describe as a "page turner"!

I wanted this book so bad. The day it was released I forgot the name of it & literally stalked my friends Facebook pages. I had high hopes for this. It started off wonderfully. I was all into it. The ending just felt rushed to me. There could’ve been so much more. Dark guy could’ve been a fling or a hero. Brother could’ve taken it to another level. She could’ve been a bad ass that punished him. IDK I’m not an author & could never be one I just don’t understand the rushed ending.

Ups and downs

There were parts of this book that bothered me. Some lines were cheesy and it seems like Ravyn is becoming an alcoholic.
BUT I couldn’t put the book down. It felt a little rushed but it’s nice because everything is happening so fast you want to keep reading.
Definitely purchase this book, some of the proceeds go to helping women in domestic violence situations.
