Bully High

Rate this book

He's rude. He's a jerk. He's a bully. He's hot as hell.

FML!

Caleb Knight is every girls dream but my nightmare.

Don't worry though, I can take care of myself.

Things are becoming interesting when the star quarterback has his targets set on me, but Caleb keeps getting in the way! He won't leave me alone.

I want nothing to do with him, but it’s hard  when he just so happens to be my neighbor.

When my mom leaves on a much needed vacation, Caleb Knight and his family are asked to check up on me. More time with Caleb and his annoying brother, means more headaches. How can someone so good looking be so annoying?

It’s hard to believe we were best friends when we were kids. It’s hard to believe I once had the biggest crush on such a douche.

Caleb seems determined to stop any romance in my life.

I'm completely peeved.

It’s time I stand up for myself!

Currently the trope of "now" is bullymance aka bully romances which I am loving as this has been a favorite trope of mine for a while especially with them being set in high school or academy settings. I quite enjoyed this one as unlike the other bully romances, this didn't have the "poor girl and rich boy" storyline. Tiffany has grown up next door to the Knight brothers and has always had a crush on Caleb Knight - the hottie next door. Though as they got older, he got more annoying and she saw him as a bully and a playboy with a different girl on his arm each week. Our main character Tiffany has been through a rough time as her dad died, whom we could see that she had been quite close too. She has developed an eating disorder and is currently dating the high school jock. Though he seems to be a jerk and hates Caleb with a passion. During the book, we read as Tiffany starts to see her life in a different perspective and realizes her boyfriend is just using her for sex and with all the rumors going around - it's not surprising he thinks she is easy and will open her legs for him on a dirty mattress in the forest. When Tiffany's mother goes away on holiday, she gets Caleb's family to look in on her and make sure she is alright. During this time Tiffany and Caleb start to get closer and soon the old feelings they have rush back and we see the beginning of the Tiffany and Caleb Knight love story. I am now looking forward to reading Book #2 in the series - Bully Love and seeing what the future may hold for Tiffany and Caleb.

DNF @ 15%. The characters were shallow and felt much too young for the circumstance. Once the mom just takes off on vacation with only a minute notice to her daughter, leaving her alone to start her senior year (seriously, this part was just bizarre), I knew I wasn't going to like this book. Not for me.

Somehow I got it into my head that it was "Bayview" not "Hillview" and then I started looking for the characters to match up with the "Saved by the Bell" (even though that was Bayside) characters (With the barest of details and what they might have been like if they were partiers and motorcycle riders, I just got stuck in the idea that Tif was Jessie, Rachel was Kelly, Zach was Caleb, Todd was Slater, Dunn was Screech etc.. to me) and then I was just even more done.

It was good....

I didnt feel like this was a bully romance.... A little bit of Alpha asshole thing but he doesnt really bully her that much.... Its mostly Caleb, his brother and their friend fighting with the football team, and there is bullyimg going on between each side.... I like the chemistry between Tiffany and Caleb.... He really makes her make better decision, hopefully the next book will be her making him better his self....

Too Close to Broken Hills Series

Although overall it was a good read, it was way too close to the Broken Hills High series and this was released after the series ended. Right down to girl with an eating disorder and rumors about her. Instead of racing cars, it was motor cycles. You had the bad boys vs. jocks again just like Broken Hills High. Even the younger brother was a weaker version of Jesse. There were also a lot of editing errors in this. I would suggest reading Broken Hills high, which would give you a better storyline and better writing.

Not sure how to feel...

Not sure how to feel about this book part of me liked it but it was a lot like Broken Hill High except sometimes the dialogue felt very immature and forced. I'll still read the second one and hope it's better.

Lite and refreshing

I am liking this book because it seem to deal with heavy emotional situations with lite flare. The main characters are endearing but backgrounds character help flavour the storyline and add to drama that has you captivated. I can’t wait continue on journey of ups and downs

So this was not what I was expecting. This is a good book if you want to start reading bully romance. It is a light bully romance novel with the tease of heat. So if you want to delve into the bullymance than you should start with this. You will follow Tiffany who is going into her senior year in high school. School has not been in session for long when the rumors start flying. I think there is a touch of self esteem issues she has as well. So you have the hot jock Troy and hot bad boy Caleb. There is a lot of back and forth with her trying to get an understanding of what she wants. She also seems to be naive about things that doesn't sit well with me. I think she could have been more well rounded as a character. Other than that let's see where book 2 will take me.

DNF...... OMG, I really tried to finish this book but I just couldn't do it. Tiffany is seriously the most unlikeable person I think I've ever read about. I mean come on...... are you really that stupid and desperate to date the loser because he will make you popular. I mean he can't kiss, he talks about himself non-stop, you don't even like him but you want to be popular so much that you decide to be his girlfriend????? Not to mention that you're a total bitch to your neighbors when they clearly just wanna have fun with you. You act like they torture you but all the things they've done to you is seriously funny and not even a little bit mean. IDK I really tried but I couldn't finish. This chick is just WAAAAAYYYY too immature for me.

High school YA romance

I wouldn't really describe this book as a dark bully romance. In some ways it was refreshing to have school kids being school kids and the normal drama that comes with that, but for me I like things a little darker with more twists to the storyline. Didn't really get Tiffs character and felt she was just stupid but i loved Josh and Caleb and their characters made the book readable. Maybe things will heat up more in book two. Don't get me wrong this wasn't a bad book it just wasn't quite gritty and dark enough for me, and in my opinion can't be classed as a bully romance.

Loving this series so far!!!! Caleb seems to have always had feeling for Tiffany since childhood- and he takes exception to the fact that she has become a pawn in some sick
Game the jocks play.

Reminds me of a west side sorry type of sorry- the bad boys versus the jocks- who will win the fight and
Who will win the girl?!?!

On to book 2!

Motorcyckes, biys, and lust

What a great combo! You cannot go wrong with a bad boy on a bike and the girl next door. Caleb and Tiffany are soul mates who need to learn how to make room for each other.

This is a high school drama filled with things they may or may not experience. Mean girls, popular kids, kids trying to fit in, teen drinking. the main character, tiffany is going through a tough time after losing her father. she is dealing with, rumors, lust and a eating disorder. Caleb, her next door neighbor and her friends try to save her from herself. there are a lot of close calls that get a little anxious. Good high school story

Good start

This was almost a 5 star book for me. And I think had it had more explanation in some parts it could have been. Like I need to know more about both dads. And honestly all the characters. And maybe that comes in the next books and I'm just jumping ahead of myself. And some parts of the book I found the characters to be immature while other parts the seemed older. I'm interested to see where Caleb and Tiff's relationship goes and also the side characters.
RH: No
Cliffhanger: No but the story continues
Recommend: Yes for a fast paced light bully romance

Meh.

West creates a wonderful dynamic between her characters. It’s done flawlessly. Unfortunately, it’s the only thing done well. Every other element and device is either cliche or awkward. There is simply no originality. As a reader, you’ll think that it’s been done before and done better. I’m still interested in seeing how her talent develops because it’s their. It’s just fledgling.

Motorcycles vs Jocks

Bad boys, indeed. Not sure which that refers to, or both. Typical problems of high school where rumors are spread by "popular" kids and the drama that goes along with it all.

Bully High was not really my thing. The character personalities were not great, there was just not much to the story in general.
