Love this book

I recently finished reading this exceptional book, and I must say it left a huge impact on me. As a black woman working in corporate America, I can relate to the challenges and obstacles we often encounter. This book provided me with the motivation and inspiration I desperately needed.

From the very first page, I was captivated by the author’s transparent, raw, and authentic writing style. Their personal experiences and insights resonated deeply with me, and I found myself nodding in agreement as I turned each page. The author’s ability to address the complexities of our unique journey in such an accessible manner is commendable.

One of the aspects that truly stood out for me was how easy it was to read this book. Despite tackling weighty subjects, the author’s writing effortlessly flowed, making it a breeze to devour each chapter. This accessibility allowed me to fully engage with the content and absorb the valuable lessons they shared.

The book is not only a source of motivation but also a practical guide. It offers tangible strategies and advice for overcoming the hurdles faced by black women in corporate environments. Whether it’s dealing with microaggressions, navigating office politics, or breaking through the glass ceiling, the author provides valuable insights and actionable steps.

I highly recommend this book.

I wanted to love this and while I was able to glean a few things, the writing style just didn't work for me.

I like the idea of a conversation between the author and reader but this felt like stream of consciousness more often than not and resulted in the message being disorganized and disjointed.

She also mentions other women she talked to for the book but it wasn't clear (most of the time) which stories were theirs.

I was fortunate enough to be a part of a webinar hosted/presented by Rahkal just before reading this book. I was glad to be able to follow up on what she spoke about and get more detail from the book. I appreciated the take always of understanding my colleagues better, learning methods for more positive work/life relationships, and good reminders of healthy habits. Thanks Rahkal!

Great and relative read!

This book was very good and I related with many of the author’s experiences in the workplace. Aside from those experiences, the author does a great job equipping the reader with tips to enhance their personal and professional development…this is not a book you should read straight through; but rather, one should also take the time to do the work that the author assigns at the end of each chapter.
