Proofread!!!!!!

Did nobody proofread this book ??? The number of errors is absolutely ridiculous!!!! The story is ok if you can get by the overly saccharine characters!!

The mystery was interesting, the plot was believable. The character interaction was far too hokey even though you expect that to some degree in a cozy mystery. What really bothered me about this series- the homemade baked goods that no one ever seemed to bake and vast quantities of online orders for roasted coffee beans that one person could never complete but seemed to be finished every day at 5 pm. None of that was believable.

Kari and Kasi Sweet were struggling on getting to work on the first workday of the week, both desperately needing coffee. Of course, they owned On Bitter Grounds and could have their fill of coffee once they get there. They were getting busy enough at work that they actually needed to hire at least a part-time worker. Kasi had stayed up late watching a new police show, then teased her sister about her real-life budding relationship with Hunter Houston, one of Mills Township’s police officers.

When Hunter came in, he ordered a half dozen sandwiches and coffee for his co-workers. He and Kari flirted a little, then she went to the kitchen to make the sandwiches. He heard a blood-curdling scream come from the kitchen! Kasi had been trying to get out the back door with the garbage bags, but something was blocking it. With a huge shove, it opened slightly and she let out a scream! The body of one of their delivery guys was on the ground. Unfortunately, she recognized him as Skip McGill, someone Kasi had pretty strong feelings for. Hunter came racing in, checked that the women were okay, then went out and took the pulse of the delivery guy they now knew was dead as Hunter called on his radio for backup and the coroner. It looks like there’s a killer on the loose again in Mills Township -- but this time, it just might be personal! Did the murderer kill an innocent man to get Kasi’s attention? Did he kill Skip out of jealousy?

This was good mystery with interesting characters. The story line kept the reader wondering what was going on with a delivery man being killed. If the murder truly is personal, can the police can act on this fast enough to protect the Sweet sisters? Grab your copy and find out who did this and why!

Mills Township was not quite as peaceful and idyllic as the Sweet sisters and Officer Hunter imagined in their youthful ignorance. Definitely no Mayberry.

Poor Kasi is horrified when a crush or two go badly awry. Twisted minds and hearts care only for themselves, and much less for the object of their affections and any outside perceived distractions or interference between them and their desires.

Will Kari finally get a chance to get to know Hunter better, or will fate intervene?

Much ado in this small township, with more still ahead.

Intense conflicting emotions, mysteries and desires.

We!l played!

This was intense and exciting. It kept me caught up in the mystery a d how it all would turn out! Well done ✔ I am so impressed with the three books 📚 I've read so far. All the good stuff and none of the bad that some murder mysteries contain. All I can say is well done a d thank you for having the talent to write a good healthy mystery with no garbage in the story. Anyone could read your books and not have to be subjected to stuff that most folks could do with out and still get the thrill of reading a good murder mystery. Thank you so much. You are added to my top list of authors. I would read any thing you write and am looking forward to continuing the books in this series.

An engaging book with likable characters, this is the second in the series. I did not read the first book but this book can stand alone. The storyline is well plotted and it’s hard to figure out who committed the crime.

Kari and Kasi Sweet, sisters and owners of On Bitter Grounds, a coffee shop in their home town are shocked when they find the body of their delivery man at the shops back door. There are several suspects and local police have their work cut out for them to solve this case before someone else is hurt.

Kasi and Kari already solved one murder in the town of Mills Township...
But alas the town isn't so peaceful...another dead body? Someone the girls know...
This killer gets personal with one of the sisters...the town will try to keep them safe.
Will they catch the killer?
Once the story started I had a hard time putting it down. It keeps you riveted to your seat.
I'm really liking this series...

Thank you to Booksprout and Sara Bourgeois for a digital ARC copy of this book for an honest
reveiw...

Kasi & Kari are involved so much more in the mystery this book. Honestly, because of what goes on here, I think this is probably the scariest cozy I've read. I think the sisters have a great familial relationship with each other and their parents and that's good to see. Hunter is still very far from a sub par love interest and I'm thrilled with it. I'm pretty excited to see what happens in book 3. Loving how the books have ended. Very intrigued to find out whose viewpoint we are reading last each book so far. And to see what grudge is being held. A mystery within the mysteries :)

Great follow-up

I really enjoy the characters and their relationships. The family is a very tight-knit group. Officer Hunter really loves the sisters and is their honorary protector. I look forward to reading more about them.
In this book the story was !it's flushed out making it more enjoyable to read. One of my pet peeves while reading is an author using a characters full name whenever referring to them. It's a series...tell us their name, we will remember it.

Sadly the immature theme continues alongside language such as hunter's Gal and Karl's yucky. Hunters monologues are boring and repetitive. So not Sara's usual style of writing. The premise if the killer being Kasi's best friend is poorly thought out. If he was as deranged as they made out, there would have been some sighs of his obsession with Kasi. The bond between sisters seems forced. Hopefully the third book Is better

Kasi had a stalker whom she thought was her friend

He killed Skip McGill because he was jealous and thought he was getting in the way of his chances with Kasi. Now Seth is going to be going to jail for a while. There is another killer but we don't know yet who he is after.

My biggest gripe with this story is that it doesn’t contain the point of view from the third main character of the series. This one specifically revolves around her, so I think it would’ve been really interesting for her point of view in all of this.

This series hooks me at the end of each book with their "Killer" chapter. Plus I enjoy the coffee talk. I can almost smell the Sweet sisters coffee roasting. Fun series.

Cute and fun read

There were a handful of grammatical errors but other than those, the story was cute. This is definitely a series that I will continue to read.

Another great read

The authors write a very enticing story. Mysterious with a sweet story in parallel. I couldn't put it down! I read it in about a day and a half.
