Dinosaurs in the Hardware Store is a very cleverly done book about some siblings who wander off looking for some dinosaurs in the hardware store but can't work out how they're disappearing so quickly.

We were expecting the book to be full of dinosaurs so I really like the imagination used in the book to find different objects that resemble one of the types of dinosaurs. This is a really unique way to tell the story and it is great for the children to start guessing where they will see the next dinosaur, a great way to get children involved in the story.

I like the characters of Leah and Milo as they are very inquisitive and are relatable for children who, like them, would love exploring new places with friends and family. I like how whilst we see lots of them having fun, we also get to see them worried and nervous as it gives more emotion and realism to the story.

The illustrations are fantastic and it is great to see all of the dinosaurs throughout the store. The way they are shown intrigues the children and makes them excited to see if they spot the dinosaur. I like how we get to see all of the dinosaurs (and how to say their names) at the end of the book as it is great for the children to see the dinosaurs that were discovered in the store as they'd really look.

We really love this book, a very clever book for children who love dinosaurs which is unique compared to other dinosaur books we've read!

This is a wonderfully imaginative book that has engaging illustrations that will keep kiddos coming back time and again. The dinosaurs were fun to find and there is a "Meet the Cast" section in the back. On the website, there is a free Activity Book that is chock full of goodness.
Leah and Mill's mom let them wander by themselves at the hardware store. She wanted them not to be stomped by Brachiosaurus. Milo thinks he sees a Brachiosaurus. Mom tells them to also watch out because they don't see very well. Gone before Leah can see him. Milo tells Leah he thinks he sees a Velociraptor's claws. Did they catch him this time? You get the fun of listening/reading and this time watching the pages for all the dinosaurs.

Well, that was disappointing. Even if I was a kid, I'd feel a bit cheated. What a crappy hardware store, constantly pulling fast ones on little kids. The best thing was the pronunciation guide after the story, where the word "Mom" was listed.

And why were Mom's three children different colors? Can't help but wonder if Mom is turning tricks on the side to pay for shopping trips to the hardware store.

Nearly half of this book is back matter -- including ads for the author's other books, and online activities that supposedly tie in to the book, and blank pages. This is a short book to begin with. To find that nearly half of this book isn't the story should really piss anyone off who bought this.

Hopefully, they haven't.

This was a cute book, I would use this book to introduce the students to a dinosaur lesson. There isn't a big connection to emotion during this book but I think it was a very cute dinosaur book. It's about two kids who run around the hardware store trying to find the dinosaurs but they keep disappearing.

Great book about imagination!

Perfect for little kids with big imaginations who love dinosaurs (wait... isn’t that every little kid???). A great way to show how you can see the world differently and have fun wherever you go.

Slightly more clever than its brash, bold and easy artwork might suggest at first glance, the story has two children seeing no end of signs that there are dinosaurs in the garden centre while their mother does her chores there. The story might well leave some people in conniptions at the thought of them wandering around unsupervised, but at the same time it can be read that the mother is an ace when it comes to diversionary tactics. That may well be reading far too much into it, so just take what you can from the easy four star rating it deserves.

I had a dinosaur mad son, and this is the sort of book he would have loved. There's a great mix of adventure and discovery, and the illustrations reveal the secrets of the hardware store.

I read the ebook version of this book. It's one that dinosaur loving kids will love
