We agreed.
One night in time.
One night to escape reality.
One night of pure pleasure.
Then we could go our separate ways.
Eighteen years later I find out that one of us left with more than they came with and I now have more than just a memory of that night.
I didn’t become the president of the Deacons of Peril MC by being an easy man.
No one keeps my family from me.
It’s time Red faces the consequences of her actions and finds out why they call me Grinder.

I have been an avid reader since I was taught to read. I was the oldest of six children and reading was a getaway for me. When my sister became sick she encouraged me to write my first book. That was in 2015 and I released my first book in March 2016. I love to read, write and share books. I am a wife, a mom, and a grandma so the only problem I have is finding the time to get it done. I have been married to my husband for 23 years and he is my person and strongest supporter.

1 ⭐- Ugh! Didn't like it or triggers or pet peeve!
======================================
(wife & children) + (side chick & children) + (club whores & chlamydia) + (heroine & children) + (Hero & STD walking manwhore & Yuck & dick need bleach and penicillin) = happy family (LOL)
=======================================

I have a wife and she's a damn good wife and mother to our son. Deidra changed when she became a mom and I’m a man with a big sexual appetite.

My wife has expensive tastes. We’re not perfect but it works. Candy is the club girl I go to most of the time when I need a little extra on the side or I just want a hard fuck.

Max, Liam, and Lexi are my children with Deidra. Max is the oldest and in two months he will be twenty. He is just like me in looks and actions.

Deidra and I decided after Lexi was born that we would divorce and that has a lot to do with the fact that Candy came up pregnant a few months after Deidra found out she was pregnant with Lexi.

Candy let everyone that would listen know I was going to be a daddy to two babies and not one.

My mind tries to go back over the last nineteen years and there have been many women on runs, in other clubhouses, and just random hook-ups. I tried not to play in my own backyard, but after one of the women I fucked came up with chlamydia, I learned to wrap it up. Nothing or no one comes to mind. They were all one-night stands. I rack my brain for who I need to get on this, and I know Tanker is my man.

D.D. and Candy hate each other. I was married to D.D. when I was with Candy.

D.D. and Candy are fit to be tied that I will have two more children moving close. They are both more worried about Jenna.

D.D. is a tall woman at five feet eight inches tall and all legs and she lets no one put her in her place and then there’s Candy, who is close to five feet seven inches and curves that are meant for sin.

“Being faithful has never been easy for me Jenna, but you make me want to do exactly that. I need to get that shower now, but we will be talking about this again and soon,”

Dude gives P Diddy and Drake a run for their money. He has 7 kids by 3 women…that he knows about.

I just can’t with a 19 year separation where the h had NO MEN. That’s just some sexist bullshit I can’t get down with. He’s been fucking everything that moves his entire life. No woman deserves a dick that dirty.

The reality is that none of this plot even sounds like it could live in reality. The H/h kids (18yrs) have never met him and with in 5-6 hours are all loved up and calling him dad. They’re already talking about selling a multi million dollar ranch and moving to his town, and then they do just that within 24hrs of meeting. 🙄 AND THAT little 24 hr scenario is 46% of the first 59% of the novel. Then the moment they move to H’s house while they decide where to move…he makes a play for h OUT OF NOWHERE.

2.5 stars cuz as much as I didn’t like the H/h…I kept reading.

HOWEVER…the “it takes a village to raise a child” bullshit gave this 1 star.

sooooooo that was different.

I read the first few chapters of this and realized that both the H and h were pretty crappy human beings. These aren't spoilers ahead as this is explained in the first couple of chapters that act as the prequel.
The H has a hard time staying faithful, has a wife and kids, a club girl, and whatever else he finds when he wants it.
He also doesn't care about using protection, which is how he ends up with 7 kids from 3 separate women... and stds
The h is depressed from admittedly horrible things, but then decides it doesn't matter if she does anything to hurt others because she's sad. She decides she needs to get pregnant so she can have something to love all to herself and sets out to sleep with someone in order to get pregnant and never tell the soon to be father... enter are H. (still don't understand why she didn't use a sperm bank, she went through far more effort with her plan)
description

Now I kept reading at this point because my morals don't come into play when it's a book i'm reading, plus I was in the mood for some questionable main characters.
The background of these characters didn't really bother me, it was basically how they acted from there on out. Not just the H and h, but every character

The formality in which each character spoke drove me nuts. No one speaks in full monologues to explain exactly how they are feeling and everything they are thinking each time they open their mouth.
A character would ask another a question, sometimes that question would be answered (sometimes not), but it was always within the character revealing so much about themselves that was never originally asked.
I love MC books, but men in MC books do not give every detail they are feeling up and then end it with oh, but "we're not the touchy feely type", then the next sentence out of there mouth contains everything they're feeling.
description

I get that the author was trying to put as much as she could in to describe the characters as quickly as possible since there were soooooooo many characters and the book is only 180 something pages long.
description
so simple solution would dictate to either write a much longer book or leave out all of the unnecessary drama

I love OTT drama, but it still has to be some-what relevant and the characters have to work to find the resolution.

A new problem would pop up.
They'd immediately discuss in formalities the issue and how to solve it.
Done!
Suddenly 2 more porblems
Immediate formal solution
Done!
and so on....

Like at some point, why bother?
description

I kept reading to see how the main dram played out, but it was just bygones be bygones and everyone just figures it out with little to no effort...

I'm sorry but all of that drama put on 4 immature adults and several teens would not result in mature controlled reactions and simple resolutions...

The last book that is part of the interconnected MC's that is currently out as of right now... more are due out so I will definitely be back to these. I have enjoyed all of them even though a good bit of them needed to be reedited. The last few have been much better. A more smooth read.
This is Grinders and Jenna's book. It's going to be hard to give a review without giving big spoilers but will do my best. Grinder is now the president of his MC club and has an ex-wife and an ex club girl who he has kids by. Nobody gets along because both mothers get in the way. They seem to care more about themselves then the happiness of the kids.
Jenna lost her one true love and the baby she was carrying. She almost lost herself by not being able to go on. After watching mothers playing with their kids at a park she decided to go out of town and have a one night stand after she took meds to help her get pregnant easy. She did and had twins...one of each. She was a great mother but now the father has found out she hid them for 18 years and is pissed off.
How can we sit and judge her for what she has done? We can't and nobody knows what they would do if they was in her situation. I think she got her karma but who will she turn to for help when she needs it most.

Go into with an open mind. A little mystery and suspense near the end and of course some flaming hot sex scenes.

This is my first book by this author. I will say it has an interesting twist when it comes to the ladies of the club. Jenna meets Grinder in a time in her life when things are not good for her. Grinder is a man who is straight forward, and just what Jenna needs..... Now let's fast forward 18 years, and that is where things get interesting. I will not spoil it for you, but I will say Jenna is a strong woman and Grinder is more than you think. I'm looking forward to see what is going to happen next within the club.

What a great start to a new series. I couldn't put this book down and I didn't want it to end! I was drawn in from the very start and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. I laughed, I had holy crap moment's and moment's I wanted to knock a few of them upside the head. I can't wait until 2020 to see what happens next!

Loved this story. Once I started to read I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

One night with Jenna left Grinder more than he thought.

Jenna missed her family, one night she set out to regain what was taken from her.

When his daughter searches DNA little does Grinder know he will find two more to add to his family and rekindle feelings he had for Jenna.

This book blew me away. It's not your typical MC read where all the characters are young throughout. This book has time jumps and a whole lot of drama. I loved every second of this book and I'm excited for 2020.

The history of the so called HERO of the story, A wife and 3 children and a woman on the side with 2 children plus club whores up and down the road one who gave him chlamydia plus the so called female lead with 2 more of his children A Hero you have to be joking right, he was a walking STD manwhore someone you would seriously need medical help from all the diseases he would be passing around and we are supposed to believe this all equals a happy loving family. This was the WALTONS, extreme horrific biker style, a man who couldn't keep it in his trousers. A walking disease who had little to no respect for any of the females in his life. Including his daughters, finding out he had long lost children one of them a girl only for one of his biker boys to claim her without her having a say in it, WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A woman who does something very wrong but for the right intentions hoping never to be found out. A one night stand that you don't agree with but sort of understand why she's doing it, she couldn't have picked a worse subject if she tried she would have been much safer and better if she had gone to the streets and picked someone up. This book has me scratching my head on what is inside an authors mind and looking at the reviews a biker is to be tough the gritty no nonsense man with the heart of gold but only for his leading lady not some horrid womanizer I read it straight through, I had to see what direction this writer was going whether Eli (Biker) had any redeeming qualities and I am sorry but no he didn't, who would want to end up with this waste of space, trying to paint him as a good guy that was brilliant with his kids does not excuse the disgusting man he really was. I hate CHEATERS and try to avoid reading about them at all costs, the blurb on this does not match what was written inside. I feel dirty after reading this, We have a 15 year old girl (his daughter) pregnant by one of his own bikers, regardless of how it was handled, it seemed to me that nothing was resolved until Jenna turned up you know the one who had not one but two babies because of a one night stand she planned like a military exercise, then did a runner for 18 years when he finds out. Magically all is forgiven and she turns into Mary Poppins who with a magic wave solves everyone's problems. Also the time frame and ages were all wrong, when she first started this she was 34 and 18 years pass between then and the present which would have made her 52 she was already older than him, I just can not see it, I'm not dissing older woman but make it believable please it insults my intelligence. This is my first read by this author will it be my last I have no idea at this moment in time, if they are as bad as this one then my answer will be no.

OMG whats with the rating of this book.

It was so unrealistic and mind boggling.

First of all, this so called hero is such a terrible character. Knowing what he was doing is wrong, he still keeps on doing it. Trying to make up but not stopping stupid acts like continuing to sleep with other women does not forgive him.

The heroine was such an unlikable character who got pregnant on purpose just because she wanted to have a child and for that she would have had sex with any no body. She planned for getting pregnant and she got her wish and then she proceeded to hide those children from the father. There is no remorse on her part.

The family meet was so contrived and laughable. The h and her children being merry sue and making everytihng right had me rolling my eyes.

And one thing is not clear in addition to many others -- Was she really 10 years older than hero? That fact was never mentioned again. She was 34 when she met hero so that makes him about 24 -26. 18 years down the road she should be 52 and hero 42, right? There is no mention of their appearance anywhere.

Also I dont get how come all these children born to these bikers and their women are the most beautiful children in the world!!

It all started with a one night stand. She was a woman who was trying to find ways to cope with both her grief and her guilt for living when her whole world was taken from her.
He was trying to just relax and not be as tense, because his home life left a lot to be desired.
They met at a bar, and had a magical night for them both, but when he left the next morning, he left her with the greatest gift he could, their children.
Forward to the future, he finds out and is mad that she kept it from him, he goes finds them and comes face to face with the one that he let get away and his kids. What he didnt figure was that she wasn’t going to keep him or them apart, that kinda thru him for a loop and that she didnt want or need anything from him.
They decide to move to where he has the MC and his other families, again not a great start, but she show him,his ex-women and his kids just what a lady she was and all without a threat, tantrum or just plain crap.
In the end she brings his family of children together and shows him that he doesn’t always need to be strong to have a woman, a woman that he can lean and rely on, and to be his strength.

Red and Whiskey Riders story

Reading the short stories in Twisted Tales of Mayhem and read the first few chapters of the one night stand between Red (Jenna) and Whiskey Rider (Grinder) in Sweet Whiskey Dreams and I was hooked. Very excited to find the whole book on Kindle Unlimited as I definitely needed to know what happened 18 years later when Grinder finds out that he has two more kids out there that he didn’t know about. Would have liked the story line expanded between Red and Whiskey Rider when they reconnected again as there was a lot missing.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the series as the next story has Grinder’s daughter Whiskey as the h with one of his MC brothers! Hoping to see the series follow the lives of Grinder’s seven children.

Not for me

I like dark and I actually even don't mind cheating. This Hero has a wife and side chick already when he is with the heroine. When the book catches up he has an ex wife and baby mama drama and this new romance, it's a little much for me. He doesn't even remember the heroine.
I found the dialogue hard to believe and the characters hard to like. The premise is good and honestly it's probably a little closer to reality than most, but wasn't for me and it was a dnf just under halfway.

However the writing was okay and there was a decent amount of plot. I'm not the majority in my thoughts so I'm sure others would enjoy.

Book Review: Sweet Whiskey Dreams: Deacons of Peril MC Book One
Author: Vera Quinn
FIVE STARS
I am a newcomer to the books that are Motorcycle Club (MC) and they are quickly becoming some of my favorite reads for hot Alpha Males and their strong women. Sweet Whiskey Dreams is no different. Eli and Jenna are both very strong characters. Jenna went out and got what she wanted and Eli found out about her betrayal and he went out and got what was rightfully his.
Now, can they make their large blended family work? Can Jenna overcome the hatred that Deidra and Candy feel for her?
Great story and I will be reading the others when they come out.

There was a lot to like in this book. I liked the storyline - the h's original plan to produce children while cliche was done in a unique way. The chemistry of the kids all together was so good that love stories for each kid would be great (hint). Detractors for the story is: lack of sexy times throughout the book, the Insta love between the couple (i think the anger from the deception could have been played up more) and the H's ex drama wasn't played up enough.

Over all though, i liked the storyline, the flow of the story and the family dynamics more than enough to cover most of my perceived story shortcomings.

Heartbreak, lies, hurt and love

The love Jenna had for Chase and their unborn daughter was taken by an accident that took Chase and their unborn daughter, Jenna took her hurt and heartache and managed to live a good live though not before some deceitful actions that lead to some hard talks and a growing family.
Jenna & Grinder were able to overcome all that was between and move on together

Slow and sweet

The story started out great, but then it slowed down too much for me. I found that there were too many explanations at times and that it really took away from the book for me. The conversations between characters did not seem realistic. The pace wasn't for me, but I'm still curious enough to read the next book for Seal and Whiskey's story. Plus, I want to know who the enemies are.
