Codie Good girl. Straight-A Student. Top of the class. What’s that saying? Fake it till you make it? That’s my plan for the rest of school. Work hard, steer clear of any distractions, and love can come later. A lot later. I don’t need another college frat boy ruining things. I have goals. Big ones. So the last thing I expect to find myself doing, is making out with a total stranger just to piss of my ex. Problem is, this stranger’s kisses have me melting like ice cream on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, he also happens to be the school’s infamous bad boy jock, Jax McGraw. Getting tangled up with someone like Jax is a mistake. His idea of long-term is less than a weekend, but something about him has me coming back for more. But I’m in trouble, because what started out as a fake arrangement has suddenly turned into real feelings . . . but am I the only one?
Jax Football Star. All around bad*ss. Panty-dropper extraordinaire. Yeah, I’m cocky—but you would be too if you were me. They call me a player. A heartbreaker. Whatever. Yes, I love the ladies, but I don’t make anyone promises. My only priorities are kicking *ss on the field and finishing my college years without my dad completely breathing down my neck. He thinks I’m a flake. Frivolous. In need of ‘fixing’. I say bullsh*t. I am who I am—not that he has any idea who that is. When good girl Codie Johnston suddenly sticks her tongue down my throat at a party, I’m intrigued to say the least. We’re total opposites, but when she says she needs me with those beautiful eyes and suddenly, I can’t say no. She wants a fake boyfriend to shut up her ex, and I need a fake girlfriend to show my father I’m capable of commitment. No sweat. Except fake kisses are turning into real passionate nights, but this is just temporary, right? Because bad boys and good girls never work out.

I was chasing a college sports romance and this one popped up on KU. The reviews were all pretty good with the only negatives being small things I could over look and I'm glad I grabbed it.
Honestly it's not one that will stay with me but it was a great way to spend a few hours on a lazy Christmas holiday afternoon.
Ok so wish I could give this book a better rating then 3 stars but o think it needs a little work. The storyline had very good potential but the writing had a lot of errors that confused me. I feel this book should of had a little more dept to it to really make me connect. At the beginning of the book it was said Jax's position of the football team was a wide receiver and he even states he's the one who catches the ball but throughout the rest of the book he's referred to as the quarterback so I was pretty confused about that. There were several other mistakes along those lines with the days events happened and so forth. Also I felt that Codie and Jax were both hypocrites through most of this book.
I'm not trying to discourage anyone from reading this book by any means. It was a good storyline, it just fell alittle flat for me. So take a chance be wise if you can reap past the errors you might really enjoy this!
Interesting and what a long wait. I understand though. Or do I? I have no idea but good for her not being with super suggly Steven. I will barf if I see that name again. Horrible name. Steve. Horrible.
I love the fake dating trope. I do... what can I say it works when it is done well. This book has potential. It feels like a draft though. Example- the Hero says he plays wide receiver then the leading lady says he is the QB... two very different positions. I like the fact that the leading lady loves football but we are only told that. I don't get to see it. I thought with a LL who loves football we would get her going to their practices or lots of games and talking about how he plays or about NFL or something but alas no. We are just told she likes it yet normally doesn't go to college games and she attends 2 while they are dating but we don't get to really see her actually going just a few sentences about hiding from him while she is at the game. Sex was mediocre. We never really see WHY the LL is so fixated on her ex... besides the fact they have just been together for so long there isn't much explanation.
Most of the feelings occur too quick and of page. Jax changes football positions between chapters with no explanation. I mean I'm not even a football fan and I know a wide receiver and a quarterback are two entirely different things. The dirty talk comes out awkward. And generally this book could have been a lot better if it wasn't so rushed. Things happened too quick to really feel any of it.
The premise is ran through but thats not the bad part. At first he's a wide receiver and goes into detail about the position, then the rest of the book he's a quarterback. It's labeled as a sports romance but he hardly plays the sport. The female lead supposedly loves football, it's football season, and yet the 2 of them never watch football together. Bad grammar to boot.
This has a good plot. But there are a lot of glaring editing issues. Which unfortunately take from the story. With some editing it would be a good story.
The storyline was good, I liked the characters and it was an easy read. However there are too many inconsistencies. Jax starts as a wide receiver and then changes to a quarterback. The characters could do with more depth, my inner knowledge of what they are going through as the story develops. Also, there are missing words and grammatical errors. It has the potential to be great if these things are changed.
The book overall was good. I was a little disappointed that the guy really wasn’t into football. I think the story went to fast. If you like fast love then this is the book for you.
Audiobook : Cody and Jax have an unconventional start but the story is fun and enjoyable, plus pretty hot in spots. The narrators did a great job, too. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this audiobook.
The concept was really good... but i didn't connect with the characters. They fell in love with each other too quickly and i feel that i didn't get to know them at all. It was all to fast paced, too physical and to be honest boring too.
Jax and Codie run into each other at a party. In fact Codie kisses Jax to make her ex jealous. The sparks that fly when these two get together make this story fly by.
I usually love Shae’s books and read all of them. But I have discovered I don’t like her college themed ones. The characters act a little too juvenile for me and I get annoyed at the immaturity.
This was a really sweet story. Filled with drama, laughs and romance. You will really love the characters and look forward to their happily ever after.
This was just super adorable... I still wish I had more to the story but this was a really cute quick read with just the perfect amount of romance and lust
