Sunshine. It's a nickname I haven't heard since I lived on Woodbury Lane, where the houses were pretty but the secrets? Deadly. It was a pet name known only to the Bullets. Rough, violent, and ruthless, they laid claim to the town - and my heart.I wasn't supposed to fall for a boy from the wrong side of the tracks-especially not four of them. But they were the only ones who understood that sometimes hell hides in plain sight.I was the girl with all the conveniences a privileged upbringing could provide. The world only saw two loving parents and a pristine home life, but I knew the truth. And it was going to get me killed. So, I disappeared, from everyone and everything I'd ever known. I changed my name and my appearance, but the scars I carry, they're still the same. The Bullets are all grown up now, too - a crime boss, a pro fighter, a bounty hunter, and a federal agent. Life took them in different directions, but they once shared the bonds of a brotherhood forged under the harshest conditions. Together they were fearless. Brutal. Unstoppable. I'm praying they can find that unity again. If I'm going to survive this, it'll take everything they have. Because that's the thing about running from the past. Eventually, it catches up to you. This omnibus contains the complete trilogy.

After practically reading this series for a couple of weeks and not adding it to my DNF I found it refreshing and taking the time to really get into this type of reading.
I enjoyed this story from the Bully Anthology and so curious about the characters Sunshine and the Bullets. So here I have it. I’m not really into RH but it worked and I enjoyed the stormy the crazy and the twisted storyline.
Oh wow I loved this series so much!! The writing was so addictive I couldn't put it down it just sucked me in! I loved each of the characters there stories we all have that bit of darkness in us I think and need that one person to keep the light on and bring us through! I really wanted so much more do they have kids? Where is Niks?
This wasn’t the worst series I’ve read, but definitely not the best. It ultimately fell a little flat for me. I thought the title, Sunshine and Bullets, was great, but it definitely didn’t live up to its promising title. (M/f, reverse harem, mafia/gang romance, vanilla, quality of spice 2.5/5, quantity of spice 3/5)
This series gave me the “the book ick”- that’s when you start reading a book and think it’s going to be good and you’re liking it, but then all of a sudden you get turned off of either the story or the characters, and after that every little thing starts to annoy you. I can’t pin point when or the exact reason why I started to feel this way; although, it was likely somewhere In between the FMC referring to her own breasts as “perky peaks” and her constant whining and crying. Or maybe it’s when the author writes “ he pours peroxide on a cut just to feel the burn”- like, seriously? Pretty sure most people know that peroxide doesn’t hurt when you pour it on a cut. Having the book ick makes it hard to know if the series is as bad as I think, or if it’s just my perspective due to the ick.
I liked that the first book cleverly flips back and fourth to from present to past in order to tell us important information about the FMC and the sequence of events that led to her disappearing. Unfortunately, I did not like it when the second book also flips back to the past because the flashbacks in this one didn’t give any pertinent information to the story, but only served to leave the reader hanging in suspense and waiting for the present story to continue. Thankfully, the author ditched this style in the 3rd and 4th book. (Yes, there is a 4th book, and although, it gave all the characters a happy ending together, it, too, fell short- especially in the spice department).
I mostly didn’t like this book because the spice was crap. The scenes were quick, unoriginal, few and far between and definitely never reached full potential. There was too many missed opportunities for good smut where the author chose to end the scene right before the characters got spicy leaving the spice implied, but not described- this is a big pet peeve of mine when reading erotic novels. And don’t get me started on the fact that this is a reverse harem but only once did the characters partake in spice all together and it was quick, lacked creativity and did not meet the standards I’m used to for a group spice scene in a reverse harem. The fourth book was the biggest disappointment in this department because it featured a throuple (1 woman and 2 men) where the MMCs were bisexual which had the potential to be super hot, but again, there was barely any spice and what spice there was was quick and very surface level never exploring to the depth of smut it could have been- if that makes sense (I’m trying to keep it somewhat clean).
Like I said, this series was not the best nor the worst writing, but it was just mediocre.
"The Bullets are better together." "We're better with you Sunshine."
Scorching hot with a whole cast of swoon worthy men and fiery female right smack in the middle of them all. Each relationship unique but eventually melds into a hot as all get out RH that had me fanning myself, white-knuckling my kindle from all the action and suspense, not to mention the banter from other memorable characters that was a blast to read from start to finish!! I completely inhaled it after I one-clicked after reading the Prequel in Bully Me Anthology!! It was an absolute adventure from start to finish!!
"Alone, we were just a bunch of broken pieces, begging to feel whole. But this? This was nirvana. This was what it felt like to be perfect, finally."
Wow all three of these books were amazing! I could not put this series down, absolutely loved it! I loved all of the characters so so much in this book. Didnt have a favorite because all of them were so amazing. This book is told in multiple POVs between pretty much 5 characters. Summer, Blaise, Ryker, Gavriel, Callum. The whole story was really good and interesting and had me turning page after page not wanting to stop reading. Steam factor in these I would give it a 2.5 out of 5, not a whole lot. Mostly filled with action, drama, suspense with some romance thrown in there. Summer had 4 amazing guys in her life thats for sure!!
Definitely recommend this series for sure. I loved it. <3
Sunshine and Bullets is the story of Summer Bright (aka Sunshine) and her "Bullets", the four boys turned men that she originally had to leave but returned to five years later. As they've all grown up, their group dynamic has changed and Sunshine finds herself not only needing all of her men but wanting them as well. As danger threatens to tear them all apart, each of these characters find their true place in the group and in Sunshine's heart. This is a well told RH romance with a bit of suspense. Although it does have a HEA, it does end with the possibility of another story to come.
I have some mixed feels about this series the first book was really good the second was pretty good and the last was just ok for me. I guess the problem I kept feeling in this book was the disconnection with in the harem especially with Callum. But also I feel like most of the spicy parts were rushed. Especially when Callum and Sunshine finally get their moment it was like a page all that build up and then it was rushed. I started to feel really bad for Callum because through most of the story he was an after thought or didn't belong. Was it a decent story yes will I ever read it again no.
I really struggled with this book. I picked it up and put it down 3 or 4 times, but really wanted to finish it and find out what happens with the characters. Overall, I'm glad I finished it. I didn't like how it all came to a head with her father and that seemed a bit rushed in the end. For all he did, there wasn't enough closure with him. It just seems that there was so much thrown at these characters again and again and again, it got exhausting. I was ready for the book to be done.
This series was recommended to me months ago... I even bought the paperback thinking I would read it while the kids were at practice or something, but there was always something else going on and the idea of starting a nearly 700 page book was daunting. Finally, I had a week with no ARC’s due, my writing was up-to-date, and the kids had a break in their schedule. I cleared the whole calendar for this book... it took my less than two days because I could not put it down! Sunshine, Gavriel, Blaise, Ryker, and Callum stole my heart from nearly the very first page of book 1 and never gave it back! The way they form their own family, the loyalty they show to each other, and how they put each other’s needs first is something you don’t see often but is so special! I love that they never gave up on Sunshine even after all those years and that her experience ended up being part of what saved them in the end. For any RH fan this is must read book that will keep you turning the pages until the very last one! Do not miss this one!
Such a great story. It was dark, but not how people said. The dynamic a great and the RH was on point. After the second book, I felt Summer getting soft. She wasn't as strong as she was in book one. I was hoping she took charge of everything after the fire, but nothing. There could have been more times the 5 of them were together sexually at one time to bring them closer.
The first book in this trilogy was fantastic and I was looking forward to getting into the subsequent books. Unfortunately, the good pace and storyline didn’t continue.
Intrigued to know what happened I kept plodding through, only to be disappointed with how the character of Sunshine developed.
Once again I find that I’m kicking myself for not picking up a book sooner. When I read Malice a few months ago I was told, ‘ If you loved this, You NEED to read Sunshine and Bullets’ and I wasn’t sure that it would live up to the hype, so I put it off. Big mistake! Huge! Because this series was amazing. The characters, the plot, the years of relationship build up had me devouring all three books in less than 2 days. I’m even so in love with a side character I’m off to find his book. Summer Bright starts off as the average innocent girl next door who just happens to be friends with the towns bad boys. When we get a closer look at Summer, all is not what it seems and the more we get to into the story the darker it gets. This book flips between the present and to points in the past, and although this isn’t something I usually enjoy, in this book, it works perfectly. There are so many twists in the plot that I was not expecting. It was written brilliantly and now I’m going to give the same advice I was given. If you love mafia books, reverse harem books where the characters were all friends, if you like your books with soo much happening you can’t put it down? This is THE one. If you read Malice and loved it, you really do NEED this one.
The fact I purchased this box set on top of all the individual books and the audiobooks of this series should probably tell you something about my love for Sunshine and her Bullets. This series is one of the few series I've reread a few times the last year and it seems I can't get enough of them.
Sunshine and Bullets were my first endeavor in the dark romance, I still remember how scared I was to go into it, being afraid that I would end up a sobbing mess, scared out of my mind for the potential heart shattering, soul crushing moments. I am an ugly crier and I hate it, therefore I'd do anything to avoid the feeling of sadness and hopelessness. But... I'm also a masochist, so I dove in head first.
This series blew my mind, left me in awe, crushed me, shattered me and built me up again. It was raw, unadulterated pain and lust and love. It was dark, so dark... And yet the love between Sunshine and the Bullets stood out like a beacon of light and hope.
These characters will forever have a place in my mind, my heart and my soul.
“Happy is an everyday battle. It’s something you fight for till the day you die. Nothing ever really ends.”
I started this journey with “The Original Bullet” from the Bully Me Anthology. That tidbit had not prepared me whatsoever for this trilogy. Fair warning: these books are DARK. Violence, crime, graphic content. But holy cannoli the story is beautiful. We learn nothing is what it seems, evil hides in plain sight and sometimes love can be enough. Throw all expectations out the window and open up your mind. Summer is from the right side of the tracks and from the outside lived a privileged life. But we bounce back and forth from past to present and learn her story of survival. Throw in Gav the Mob Boss, Blaise the Bounty Hunter, Ryker the MMA Fighter and Callum the Federal Agent and you have a whole lotta history, alpha attitude, and insane chemistry. This story is gritty and raw and moving. Find out how Sunshine and her Bullets found their way back to each other and watch them fight for their Happy.
This was a surprise for me. I was told to give the author a try. I rarely review books like this set.
Summer aka Sunshine has it all it seems to the watching world. But her life is dark and twisted. The only light is from a group of misfits. Gav is controlling and intense. He "sees" her. Her needs and wants become his ultimate goal to fulfill. Blaise laughs at the world. But lingers on the sidelines watching for Sunshine. Waiting to give her a reason to smile. Ryker is aware of the evil and corruption around him. His goal is to keep it away from Sunshine. And hold her close. Because people will always slip away. Cullum is lost. And Summer "sees" his need to be found. He is adrift without family. Can all these people gather close to become the family they each need to survive? Is Sunshine the glue to keep them bound?
This was an amazing journey of 5 people looking for a home. I can't wait to review more by this talented author.
I remember when I was first suggested to read this book, I didn’t know what to expect. I was blown away, and now that it’s a complete set, it’s even better. Do not sleep on this series like I did!
The characters of this book will run away with your heart, and you won’t get it back even at the end. Sunshine, Gavriel, Blaise, Ryker, & Callum are all so incredibly special. From the way they formed their found family. To how they made sure they put each other before themselves, to make sure everyones needs were met. I love that we got to see in flashbacks what happened, why things were left the way they were and more. It’s crucial to the story and I’m glad it was done in flashbacks!
This was probably one of the darker books I’ve read. When I first started reading any RH books I kept it lighter, but once I started reading I couldn’t put this down. It’s going to tear your heart out but as you keep reading it’ll repair it back together.
If you’re looking for a place to start reading dark romance, this is the perfect series for you!
...because I was getting such a migraine from rolling my eyes. Really? A "strong" female character who can't wait to be pushed around by some ruthless, absent-of-personality thug she hung out with 5 yrs ago when she was all of 17? This story essentially tripped over its own tongue constantly. A one-off virgin who goes on the run and purposely become homeless for a ridiculous reason (no serial killers ARE a good reason to run), but surrounded by a crazy amount of support. Then this one-off vorgin becomes a virtual horn-dog, a sex addict who creams her pants whenever one of her friends, none of whom she's seen for 5 yrs even looks at her with "hooded eyes". This could have been a pretty good book. I often enjoy the occasional reverse harem, but porn, accompanied by a really dumb storyline that seems to insult my intelligence...no thanks. Don't bother
I have to admit the first book I enjoyed more as it gripped me - I think I enjoyed the depth of the history of how they became to be. It was really well written and I loved all the characters and how they came together.
It kind of petered out a little as it went on.... Losing its way as it centered on.. Basically what sunshine decided to do and how the men all felt - especially Riley.
The plot with her dad felt a bit loose sadly. I mean I'm glad it finished how it did but it didn't really make much sense. Why did he do this? What was the reasoning? How did sunshine not see him in the basement part which wouldn't have been very big??
However Nix is a very fun character - however disappointing it was that he suddenly dropped off the radar - at first we think its by choice but the cliffhanger makes us ask if it was..... So that has to be picked up!!! But otherwise this is where we leave sunshine and her bullets.....
Not a big smiley ending but satisfactory!

I loved this series. I read it for a book club and I have to say it was beautifully written. I loved seeing the interactions between Sunshine and the Bullets in the past. Although, I wish for more POVs for the MMCs I liked being in Sunshines mind. Everything that she went through is astounding. Nix was the perfect best friend anyone could ask for. The bullets were perfection! Gavriel was obsessive, controlling, but would do anything for her and the others (the man literally saved Callum from a fire). Blaise was definitely obsessive, had stalker tendencies, goofy, and a sweetheart who had no problem fighting (literally) for Sunshine and the others. Callum was the sexy older man who never gave up on looking for her and had to overcome many things throughout the series. Ryker was a sweetheart, fighter and overall a sexy muscled teddy bear, he always made sure Sunshine never got overwhelmed. This series will make and break your heart but it is worth every minute spent reading it.

"We met during the calm before the storm. It was easy to form our bond within the safe innocence of my childhood. But now we were lightning and thunder. We were crashing floods and destruction."
Nothing like a good series binge and that's what I did with THE BULLETS. This mafia-ish RH was steamy, angsty and easy to get lost in. Sunshine and her guys go through a lot, but I liked how much they valued the family they made. They were willing to put their jealousy aside for the good of their lady.
"We're larger-than-life, Sunshine. We stand for family. Friendship. The Bullets are brutally honest and devastatingly committed. We hold knives to each other's throats but would kill anyone that threatened us. We don't need anything but each other."
The ending wrapped up nicely even though it leaves it open for the next one about Sunshine's bff. I might read it, but I was happy with how the main story ended. 4 Stars!
Rating this 3.5. Parts of this series was a 5 star read for me, but other aspects were more of a 3 star. I loved the dynamics of this harem and the push and pull Sunshine had with some of the members, but that same push and pull kind of drove me nuts too. The series starts off really strong and I especially loved when Sunshine, who has been on the run and lived through something traumatic, is having a rough time and her guys are helping her through this and very protective and keeping her safe. Gavriel was one of my favorites with how possessive he is of her especially with the other guys. Callum's push and pull was frustrating because it went on way longer than I liked and then the last 10-20% I felt like we didn't get enough time with Sunshine and each of her guys. I would have liked to see them a little more after everything had been resolved.
Ok wow.....I absolutely loved this series by Coralee June. I loved the multiple POVs, the flawed characters, and the angst, on angst, on angst. Sunshine and Bullets is a second chance, RH dark romance. I read this entire series in 2 days because I could not put it down. Coralee did an amazing job creating real/believable characters that each had their own struggles and flaws, but they created their own family within the Bullets. They might hurt each other and even sometimes hate each other, but at the end of the day, they share a true, deep love and understanding for each other and Sunshine. If you are looking for an angsty romance with all the feels, I definitely recommend reading this series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5! This series has been on my TBR for a long time and I can’t believe I left it so long before reading!
I really enjoyed the overall plot, the characters, the chemistry and connection between Sunshine and her guys. It was realistic in the way they were all brought together. They had the underlying connection being the Bullets but bringing Callum on board and getting him to fully commit and let go, seeing as it was the complete opposite of everything he knew, wasn’t easy but I loved the ride!
Oh how I loved Phoenix and Sunshine’s friendship SO much!! I was secretly rooting for him to be part of the harem because I just loved them together, but I’m so glad that it looks like he has his own book, I’m about to download that immediately to get my answers!
This series was fantastic. It got me out of my reading slump.
Last year I read almost 200 books and it’s 3 months into 2022 and I’ve read 3 books… Right amount of spice and story. I wish Sunshine had not relied so much on the Bullets but nonetheless the Bullets were utterly devoted to her.
The series seemed to end right when Sunshine had something to tell the Bullets…I guess I’ll just have to read the 4th book that centers around Sunshine’s best friend, Nix. Which by the way I loved Nix. Totally left turn of a character and I enjoyed his and Sunshine’s relationship. What made it ever better was the her 4 guys weren’t jealous of her guy best friend and understood they were each other’s person.
Definitely recommend if you enjoy RH and mafia-esque books!
Ok, I really enjoyed this series, my only let down was the sex scenes were over too quickly and could have had a bit more lead up and detail, but that is not all of the book, so if that's not your thing this book has so much more. In my opinion it has a great story line, sometimes I got a little frustrated at the pace, but it kept me guessing and was relevant. I like how each character is written and something I really enjoyed in the internal dialogue of 'Sunshine'. Intially I thought this was repeatative but then when I thought about how I think about these things in my own insecure headspace it made it so relatable. Thank you!
Wow this trilogy is a page turner and worth the time investment, if you like mafia dark reverse harems stories! Summer Bright (Sunshine) and her Bullets are quite the family. Add best friend Nix into the equation and she is quite the lucky girl, despite her circumstances and history. Each of the bullets are swoon worthy and complement each other well. More over they are family, the forever kind. Glad that I read this when the trilogy was complete otherwise the cliffhangers would have been killer. Just a word of warning, this is a very dark romance, so if you have triggers please proceed with caution.
It's not your typical RH where the guys fall in love with her and the relationship goes seamlessly once they decide to share. This was MESSY & Complicated and also kind of toxic. I loved their dynamic and how they went from searching for Summer to trying to keep her safe to then being on the run again. It was like it all came full circle. I loved the jumping back and forth in time to tie things together so we could see them fall in love as teenagers and then figure out how to stay in love as estranged adults.
Wow this was such an amazing book. Unless the series is really good it is really hard for me to read a series without getting bored. This series was far from boring. It's a reverse harem so the MFC doesn't have to chose who she ends up with. Everybody was different and had different personalities so it was easy to feel something about all of them even if you didn't like them. Everybody did different things to (Bounty hunter, mob boss, fighter, detective). There are sex scenes and things that might be a trigger to some people to keep that in mind. The only thing I wish is that there was more pov from the guys.
I enjoyed this series. But I have to admit it kinda fell a little flat for me. It didn't really live up to the hype. Also another issue I had was this is a RH read but, I kept feeling this book had a disconnection within there harem especially with Callum. The spicy factor was mediocre. The scene were quick, rushed, unoriginal, and never reached full potential. Too many missed opportunities for a good smut so that was a bit of a let down. Overall I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy. Unfortunately everything after that wasn't as good.
When in a book slump...pick up a Coralee book and you will have an immediate remedy.
I thought she couldn't top Malice Mafia and yet here I am writing down praises for yet another completely enthralling, twist and turns, hot on the spice, epic on the plot total knockout.I don't know how she does it but it happens every single time!
I immediately fell in love with all the characters and couldn't help compare them to the Malice crew but these characters are top notch! I LOVED how Summers character developed and she found her coping mechanisms. I was so thrilled when we got into it more that not only was this not going to be a slow burn but the reunions weren't this drawn out, sad, angry, hate filled time in which they were all self destructing because of her return. I loved each and every strength that the individual guys brought to the family and how other characters were there to help pick them up when they felt knocked down! And how the past flashbacks gave you that 5 year difference from what was to what now is!
READ/REVIEW THESE BOOKS BECAUSE SHE JUST GETS MORE EPIC WITH EACH RELEASE!
