As a successful actress and the eldest daughter of Alec Stone, Violet was no stranger to male attention. In most cases, she did her best to ignore it. She didn’t want a man who was clingy or needy, and lately it seemed like everyone she dated fit that description. She was beginning to think the problem might actually be with her. Vi felt like she was happy being single. Her career was flourishing, and with all the time she put in to acting, looking for love was not on her list of things to do. That all changed when she stumbled upon a mysterious carpenter named Drake Christensen. Maybe it was the fact that he was a towering, strong, manly type of guy who was so unlike the men she was used to dating. Then again, it could have been that he seemed immune to her charms and fame. Either way, she had to win him over. She had to have his heart.

Brooke’s newest story is very sweet...Drake had a terrible childhood until he’s adopted. He’s big, bearded, and beautiful. He’s a gentle giant who falls in love with Violet, with whom he shares his first kiss. This is a story for swooning.
This book has a rather unusual premise, but Drake the gentle giant was such a sweetheart. It was so enjoyable watching their relationship develop.
Now I'm pretty sure a gal like Violet would have immediately asked "why not?" when Drake first told her that he didn't date; in fact, I believe most of us would have, but it was still a pleasure to watch things as they worked out for both of them.
And I'm so grateful that Drake did not call Vi "baby girl" - thank you, thank you, thank you!
Here, the eldest daughter of rock star Alec Stone, Violet, is a successful actress. She always has ignored men and their intentions. That is until she meets Drake Christensen, a carpenter. She's not been looking for love putting all her enthusiasm into acting.. But with this man, she has to win his love. Another great, great romance story by a great author. Highly recommend.
I liked this book because of the writing style which is so good - excellent character development and really sweet story. I read and enjoyed the first book in the series and look forward to the third. I really enjoy reading books where the characters are likable.
Violet got lost going to a friend's ranch to attend a party. Little she knew that her life was about to change forever. Drake had his life all set up, doesn't do relationships, but he never expected the power of Vi in his life! This is a lovely, sweet and romantic book. The Stone family is a one of a kind and I'm completely in love with each one of them.
I downloaded the ebook version because it was free . I didn't have any expectations but , i admit i enjoyed reading this . However , i found the narration a bit confusing in some chapters . I hope the author just stick with the first person point of view from beginning to end . Other than that , everything is good 💖,
I loved reading about Drake and Violet. This book was a story about two people who appear to have totally opposite personalities coming together. Violet is an actress and daughter of a rock star. Drake is a quiet carpenter. Will they be able to find happiness together?
A clean, wholesome read where opposites attract. Heartbreaking how Drake was told that he would turn out just like his abusive dad because it was in his blood. Sadly, there are probably people who believe that about others. Drake had decided not to date or marry out of fear that he would hurt his family. Vi and Drake are great together.
Okay, so she’s got the formula down pat for fun, sweet, quirky stories with clean chemistry! I loved Blue & Taylor, but Vi & Drake? So cute together. This was just the lighthearted break I needed this week!
I fell in in love with Drake and Violet 💗 how they just fell into.Love and were careful.how to express it because of what Drake had gone thru. What a beautiful and sweet story 💗
I had to go back and read the first book. Then I read this book this afternoon / evening. Ms. St. James leads you into another family you want to be friends with. To spend time with, go to church with.
It was an easy read, seems a bit rushed. The author could have developed the story a bit and this would make the book more plausible. Overall it was worth the read
Like her other books, this one was quirky and crazy. However, it had a very powerful message. No matter what wrong things your parents did, by the grace of God, you don't have to do them. Praise God! Very well done, again.
Oh my gosh, this book. This was the best book I've ever read. The anticipation and the passion and so much love. It had me crying all the time. I've never felt so much while reading. The bond between these two was amazing. A must read.
I liked this one because it was different in their meeting and how they came together. I would like to see more of the gospel in a sworn single who quickly turns to in love and marriage. Good quick read.
I love these books! Brooke St. James is one of my favorite authors and I have loved this series. Can't wait to read them all. She knows how to write sexy without making you blush. Can't wait to read more of the family Stone!!
This was a good read. Violet meets Drake when she stops to ask for some help. She is instantly attracted to him. The problem is that he is reluctant to give them a try. Thankfully, he tells her what's wrong and they fix it. This allows them to have their happy ending.
Again, not the first time I've read but a fun reread. Violet and Drake have some definite moments and Vi is so confused when Drake doesn't chase her. Clean romance. Serious abuse referred to but not on page. Ok, great love story but my favorite part was the bookcases.
