Stephani Damato thrills readers in another incredible read. "Between Dawn and Dagger" is filled with gripping action and romance in a story that excites and leaves you wondering what is to come, drawing you into the world of the supernatural as you embark on Val's journey to become a Hunter.

The strong female protagonist and skilled world-building hooks you from the prologue, creating a thrilling story that left me expecting the unexpected with each chapter. (And speaking of chapters - the chapter titles are creative and draw you in each time!)

As we learn about the backstories and motivations of Val, Ry, and Roland, I couldn't help but empathize with characters who prove to be far more than what meets the eye. The writing style makes Val a relatable character and presents a captivating perspective, and we get to grow and learn with her as she discovers more about the supernatural creatures she has always loathed.

What an excellent beginning to Val's journey. I would recommend this novel for readers who enjoy young adult fantasy - you will not be disappointed! I am excited for the second and third installments!

I picked this book up on a whim, knowing little about the content or the author’s other works. I guess the cover art caught my eye. 99% of my reading is Military Nonfiction and Military Sci-fi, so this was very far out of my realm. Having read it, I’m very glad I bought it, the main characters are well-written, fleshed out fantastically, and hold your attention until the end (which it turns out is the most intriguing part, and I can’t wait to read the second and third parts of the trilogy). The setting and plot work together with the character-driven narrative. 5/5, give this a read!

Between Dawn and Dagger was a fantastic fantasy novel with well rounded characters, addictive interactions and attention grabbing details from cover to cover! As the book/settings/characters were unveiled, I could vividly picture the scenes in my head as if it was a movie. Action, suspense, magic, creatures, family, friends, etc. - it really has it all and would be a great read for anyone looking for a new series to start! I am excited to see how the story continues in Between Iron and Ice!! 5/5

This book sets up for a thrilling trilogy full of magic, creatures, action, and romance! The author really made it so the reader can relate to each of the characters and you never know what may happen next. The friend and foe dynamic is one of my favorite parts of this book and not everyone maybe ad they seem. I truly enjoyed all of the action in this book and do not want to put it down until finished! This is the perfect book for young adults and teens who are interested in the fae realms.
