Treated as a religious text of surveyors - I have and remain recommending this text to my peers within the field.

Exceptional for a stressed undergraduate or a surveying veteran keen to keep their memory afresh.
Simplistic yet detailed diagrams with easy-to-read paragraphs. This remains easy to read and unintimidating whilst staying comprehensive and knowledgeable.

It's ok. Much shorter than 10th edition, all the important details have been omitted: pros and cons of each design/method, caveats... This is not a handbook, it's becoming a summary.
Yet it leaves a of white spaces in the book. Horrible.
