This is a story of a red monster named Elmo who goes to the doctors office. While there, Elmo meets a blue monster named Angela. They become friends and he goes over to her house, in an all-blue monster neighborhood, where they laugh, play and find out they are more alike then they think.

I picked this book off from my book shelf, because I loved Sesame Street as a kid. This book has such a good meaning behind it and I am so glad I took the time to read it. It teaches that no matter the color of your skin or the way you look when you accept others you will be better off and make more friends than you could imagine.

The illustrations in this book were super colorful and fun and had a lot of detail which makes it fun to look through. The author made the text super easy to read so children will be able to understand that although people may look different they may have similarities as well! Overall I thought it was a great book!

I want to like this more than I do because its got a great message. Maybe it would help if my kids were more into Elmo. Kait was but before she had the patience for a book this long and Maddie has never really taken to him.

Simple story about how we shouldn't assume things about other monsters bases on the color of their fur.

Who this book would be for: PreK-K
Reflection:
Excellent book when talking about differences between people and their families. Soon Elmo and his friend realize that even though they may look very different, they are still very similar.
Great book to use to open up a discussion about similarities and differences. Also could be used to get the kids thinking critically about the text.

This is a great book that all kids should read. It teaches acceptance of all difference people. Everyone in the world is a person and you shouldn't judge them based on their looks or where they come from.

SUMMARY: Elmo meets a new friend, a blue monster named Angela. He goes over to her house, which is in an all-blue monster neighborhood.

REVIEW: An excellent story for young children explaining that we all don't have to be the same to like one another and be friends.
