Lucas Daniels is in danger!

Not from his mysterious new job, but from someone in his own house: his stepfather. Just when he thought Garrett’s intentions were all in his head, his stepfather’s actions send him running to Dyavol and Konstantin for protection.

Count Konstantin “the Wolf” Volk will do anything to protect Lucas, and not only because Lucas’ blood may be curing him. When he finds Lucas under threat from every corner, he’ll do things he never thought possible in order to keep the young man safe. Cutting deals with ancient dangerous vampires, testing the bounds of his curse, even opening up the heart of his vampire Sanctuary itself to a mere mortal. Nothing is off limits.

But while Konstantin is focused on keeping Lucas safe, could the real person in danger be Konstantin himself?

Something needed to happen sooner with the romance between these two. That's probably why I'm not a huge fan of serials, I need more action!

This is the forth book. It’s also the first one that’s really interested me. The plot thickens and we discover more surprises.

Yet despite the increase in plot/excitement I still found myself skimming. Towards the end with the seemingly endless to and fro between the two main characters.

So this was rather intense and a lot steamier than the previous books in the series. Lucas's intuition about his stepfather proves correct and he has to flee to get away, but the only place that feels safe at the moment is Dyavol. Konstantin's curse is not gone but is simply held at bay with the magic of Lucas's blood so he needs more, but at the same time he wants to protect and care for this young man who suddenly became important to him and not only because of his blood.

This time author throws us a couple of curve balls that are so explosive! I can't say what since I don't do spoilers but wow, it surely was unexpected. Konstantin and Lucas's lives are getting entwined more and more, the intensity of their feelings is frightening to them both. But the inhabitants of Club Dyavol take care of their own, and Lucas has been accepted into the fold despite his ancestry. The epilogue opens up many possibilities as to where the story will go from here on, and I can't wait to find out. I liked it a lot.

Audio: 5 stars Ethan Holtan is a new to me narrator and I really enjoyed his narration of this book!

Book: 4.5 stars

Damn the cliffhanger on this one! So far the longest book of the series and I am still loving this! I swear there is something magic in these books that is making it hard to want to do anything else but read them haha!

I also have a feeling of who the Nomad could be… haha

So on to book 5!!

3.5 stars. No doubt in my mind who The Nomad really is. Because his public persona is just as annoying as his disguised one is. *eyeroll*

Still, I really, really want to know if my theory about where and why this is going is right.

Review:
*Here is my Vampire's Club spoiler-free series review.*

I'm starting to really love the relationships and dynamics of this vampire society, and especially the little found family Konstantin has created. I've also come to really love Lizzy! She's an interesting, lovable character. She has a kind of agoraphobia, or perhaps just a fear of men, after being sexually abused as a kid, so she never leaves the upstairs apartment area of the club. She's also an 80-something-year-old vampire trapped in a 12-year-old's body. But she's started leaving her comfort zone for Lucas, because she likes him and trusts him and can tell he's good. And because she's good too. I also liked that this touched on the topic of how people will choose to believe bad people over the victim in a situation, even if the victim is someone they know wouldn't lie like that, simply because they don't like the truth. This one lacked the complex relationships that I found so interesting in the previous book, and the story is still very slow-moving (these four books have only covered the span of three nights, though it kinda feels like more, especially with how relationships are forming and changing), but I'm still enjoying this series and am hooked now.

Trigger/Content Warnings: On-page sexual assault (a forced kiss).

Finally we have some good fucking food!

I can’t believe it took 4 books to have a kiss that lead to sexy times… but anyway, the important thing here is that Konstantin needs Lucas’ blood and he might consider making him his fledging. Though forcing him would be a faster approach, he wants Lucas to be by his side on his own will, as a companion, not as a blood servant.

So we see them interact with each other and open up a little bit about their concerns. Lucas really wants to earn his place in Dyabol but not everybody is happy with this decision. While Lizzie and the others are cool about it, Xavier, Konstantin’s bff, is wary of him and what his blood might represent.

Lucas might be the son of a powerful witch. And vampires and witches haven’t been on good terms in like forever. But what if these two are the key to a new alliance?

Anwyay, I just want to say that Lizzie and Jamal are my favorite vampires until now and even the Nomad is quite interesting too. I like Lucas, I mean, he’s not the best MC but who can blame him? But, as you may guess, I’ve been reading the series thanks to Konstantin. I think he’s such a great character that he’s worth all the time I’ve been invested in these books.

I said this before but the format is really not my fav thing. This could be a perfect trilogy buy hey, it’s just my opinion.

Can’t wait to read book 5!

We're now on book 4 and find out a bit more about Lucas and his family especially his step-father.
I am enjoying this story but do wish the books were longer ( and yes I say that every review.) I would like to move along at a slightly quicker pace.
This one was more steamier than the previous ones.

Really interesting development. I liked watching Lizzie in action and Xavier gets more and more intriguing... I love how so many vampires seems to want to protect Lucas, is kind of cute, actually.

The ending leaves us with a good cliffhanger, even if I believe this "plot twist" not to be that surprising. Who didn't saw that coming? But the author leaves the story in a niece point, and you can't help but want the fight installment.

So that what I'm gonna do XD

Sadly I’m going to give up on this series.
But I hope others enjoy it, I think it has a lot of promise!!. It’s just not enough is happening for me. The book seems a little too disjointed for me personally.

I was very upset when I listened to book one, only to find out I’d have to buy and listen to 7 books to hear a conclusion. 7x$18 for one story. However, the story is very good and they are well written The fact that the narrator was the BEST I ever listened to: Ethan Holtan, I settled in and enjoyed every moment. His ability to create different voices and so many accents was pure pleasure. I’ve listened to many, many bad narrators. So, after finishing Book 5 I was worried that I only had two books left.

Then I started Book 6. A new narrator????? What the actual what???? He can’t even pronounce the Club’s name. And he can’t do the accents. I feel like I’ve lost Konstantine forever. And when he plays Lukas, I hear Woody Allen!!!! Omfg! Is that ever a turn off.

Why would they do that? I committed time and money based on the first narrator. All my excitement over the series is gone. Yeah, Book 6 was good, and I have to listen to one more story to get to the conclusion. Big deal.

Now, to take a story and force readers to buy all the books just to hear one story seems greedy to me. I had to wrestle with my thoughts about spending on a 5 hour audiobook the same amount as I would usually pay for a 10+ hour audiobook. So changing narrators is saying to me that the producer/author only wants the money and doesn’t care about the listener, knowing that after 5 books the listener is hooked.

I won’t read anymore series.

About the Book: Time for revelations has come, it seems. Lucas step-father makes a hard pass on him, raving about a man he once knew, who looked so very much like Lucas. Konstantin tries to “fix” this situation, but only manages to find out there’s great magic surrounding not just Lucas, but his home too. Soon after this a couple of witches, out of all people, show up at the Club’s door, and too claim Lucas looks like someone they knew. The tangled web of magic and blood is finally getting loose around the knots. Yet Konstantin and Lucas can only hope they won’t get strangled in it.

My Opinion: Most plot revolved around asking Lucas to tell Konstantin things, and asking Konstantin to do something about Lucas. And while Lucas seems to not grasp the situation just yet, Konstantin is in denial about it. Plot ended up being a bit mild, with characters not acknowledging repetitiveness, or them only serving to propel the plot onto the next tile. But all in all, there were good moments, and secrets were presented in such a form that I am, absolutely, interested to read more.

Definitely readable. 3 out of 5 so far.

This sotry continues at it;s rapid pace, with a bit of heartbreak in this most recent volume. Lucas now must deal with the concerns he has been feeling at home and when ti all comes to a head things to not go the way that he expected. It was a hard read as it was a reminder of how love can be blind and sometimes towards others that also deserve love. Desperation to believe in the one you love can make it seem that they can do no wrong and to deny the wrong they do just hurts others. It was a difficult situation and it hurts one relationship, but it made Lucas closer to Konstantin and those at Dyavol. Now time will tell if those relationships become the new important ones in Lucas' life.

Vampires and witches and magic! Sweet, spicy, bit of drama, bit of angst, a lovely light read. There are 7 small installments to this novel, each ending with a cliffhanger but the story is complete, so you can roll right on to the next one. The pacing is so good on these books, I reached the end of each too quickly and I’m always left wanting more. That’s the sign of a great book.

Each book is easily a 4-5 with the overall series at 5 stars. Character development was great, romance was insta-love done really well, bad guys were well developed, some light twists, too. Overall a super series that I think of fondly even weeks after reading it.

Still Reading

Yep, I’m still reading. I am currently at Book 4 as you can tell. Soon to be reading Book 5. What can I say about this one? I don’t want to give away too much. Lucas’ stepfather made a move on Lucas by kissing him. After escaping from the car he ran. But the damage was done. The stepfather tells the mom that Lucas came on to him and yep, you guessed it, she believed him.
Well you see things are starting to heat up in action between Vampires and Witches, Konstantin and Lucas, and even between Lucas, his mom, Garrett his stepfather, Lizzy, Xiaver, and Konstantin.
Oh and at the end, there is a BIG surprise. It’s a 5 star ⭐️ rating

SOOO.... This series
1 - Ends each book in a cliff hanger of sorts one way or the other
2 - Each book of the story gets better and BETTER!
So much so I did one of my ultimate no-nos': I read straight through to the end of book 6 from book #2 without stopping... and adding to my Goodreads List. Bad of me, I know, But, but it was a MUST, I tell ya. A MUST!
Sadly, now I must wait til the next. 7 books are to be in the series. Gah, the pressure.

3 - It is officially going on my 'all time favorites series' shelf

Things just got waaaay more interesting!

There are a number of interesting developments in this installment. Lots of guesses as to some secrets as well. I was totally intrigued by this chapter and can’t wait to get to the next.

There is far more character and story development in this episode. Much more along the lines of a novella format instead serial like as in the first three books. We get a ton of new information which adds to the intrigue and some hints are dropped that not all is as it seems.

Immediately on to book five now!
