PROMISES . . . a story about the problem with secrets, the power of love and the unbreakable bond between sisters
Welcome back to the resort town of Sun Valley for another heartwarming story in the Sun Valley Series where you’ll find stunning mountain vistas and blue skies . . . and three close-knit sisters who depend on each other through thick and thin. “You become part of the family in this wonderfully crafted novel.”
Karyn Macadam is determined to move on from the pain of her past and embrace the beauty of her future, but she soon realizes her new beginning comes with unanticipated risks that could cost her far more than she could have imagined—perhaps more than she can endure.
Leigh Ann Blackburn is supportive and outspoken and fiercely protective of her sisters. As she plans the wedding of the season, she learns the joys of sisterhood can quickly turn as she faces a betrayal she never saw coming.
Joie Abbott prepares to wed the man she swore she’d avoid, the one who has been by her side from the beginning—the man she was destined to love. But, when a looming storm threatens everything, can she learn to trust him?
A poignant novel about family, in all its heartbreaking and splendid forms. A great reading option for fans of Debbie Macomber and Susan Mallery.
Kellie Coates Gilbert has won readers’ hearts with her compelling and highly emotional stories about women and the relationships that define their lives. A former legal investigator, she is especially known for keeping readers turning pages and for creating nuanced characters who seem real.
In addition to garnering hundreds of five-star reviews, Kellie has been described by RT Book Reviews as a “deft, crisp storyteller.” Her books were featured as Barnes & Noble Top Shelf Picks and were awarded a coveted spot on the Library Journal’s Best Book List.
Born and raised near Sun Valley, Idaho, Kellie now lives with her husband of over thirty-five years in Dallas, where she spends most days by her pool drinking sweet tea and writing the stories of her heart.
The entire Sun Valley Series has been enjoyable. Each book is focused on all three of the sisters and changes in their lives. In this final book of the series, the primary focus is on a wedding. The dynamics between oldest and controlling sister Leigh Ann, free spirited youngest sister Joie and the one in the middle Karyn was fun to be a part of.
I read the first book and loved it. I didn't realize I would need to purchase 3 or more books to get closure. I didn't get closure even with the 4th book. Although I liked all of the characters and enjoyed ready about them I was bored by the 4th book. It seems the "Sisters" each encounter a "new" issue with each book and that book focuses on the issue. In reality you will be purchasing one book (4 total with one story)with no ending for $18 (the first book was free). I won't be purchasing any more from this author
This last book in the Sun Valley series wrapped things up nicely. Josie is getting married, Leigh Ann is planning the wedding of the century and Karyn has big plans for her future. There are secrets being kept and when they are revealed they may tear apart even the strongest of relationships. Are the bonds strong enough to withstand the heartbreak and get to a place of forgiveness and moving forward? Can they weather the storm? I really enjoyed this last installment in the series and would recommend.
The reality of having sisters and not always agreeing on everything rang true for me, a woman with two older sisters. I can something relate to Joie and her feelings of being a screw up. I loved how Kellie wove their reconciliation and wrapped the story up with a happy ending. I look forward to reading another series of hers. They are always heartwarming.
I kind of wish I would have stopped at book 3. I loved all of these books until this one. I had a really hard time getting over the way Leigh Ann behaved in the first part of the book & the fact that her terrible behavior went mostly unchecked. It made her sisters seem weak which was not generally their character & others excused the behavior too. This book was a total let down 👎

I really enjoyed this series. I was hoping for a fifth book. Three sisters, each with different personalities . They have their ups and downs but it only made for good reading. They never completely give up on the others.
With each book in the series she became more graphic. She spend a lot of time talking about the color of flowers or the weather or other stuff. I feel like she was just waisting time to make the book last longer. Book #1 was the best then the were progressively filled with useless information.
This book tells all of the ups and downs that life throws at a family. The sisters have a relationship that all siblings fight and go through. That is what is so genuine about it. There is always one sibling that is controlling but means well, a great story of love.
This story has a lot of adventure, love for family, strength, and how these sister grew up losing a Mother at a early age become close and helping each other through hard times looking forward to reading more books from this author
This is the fourth book in a series. The last one is mainly about wedding for Clint and Jolie. Does have a good story line about all three sisters and shows the ups and down involving a family. I would highly recommend reading this book
This Series is absolutely habitually one that I had trouble putting down. I just went from one book to the next. I just had to know what happened next. Kellie Coated Gilbert has become one of my favorite authors.
A bit of uproar among the sisters, but nothing sisterly love can't overcome. They are all as stubborn as the next. It's time for each of them to figure out their place in the world.
The fourth book in the Sun Valley Series has continued to capture the dramatic lives of the Abbott sisters. Older Sister, Leigh Ann, has taken free reign over baby sister, Joie's wedding. Never one for all of the big hoopla, Joie would rather have a very small affair but Leigh Ann would not hear of it. Middle sister Karyn has just returned from a trip to California with her newfound friend, Zane. Having felt the freedom that she has been seeking for some time, Karyn has made some big decisions that will alter not only her future, but those of her family as well. Will Leigh Ann be able to handle Karyn's news or will she once again try to interfere and cause a big blowout? Will Joie's wedding jitters cause her to start regretting her choices, or will she grasp the future and realize the gift that she has been given? Will Karyn finally put her own happiness first or will she give in and try to make others happy? Author, Kellie Coates Gilbert, has successfully written another magical escape into the lives of the Sun Valley residents. This is such an exciting and heartfelt series to get lost in. I can't wait to see what else author Kellie Coates Gilbert has in store for her readers!
Promises (Sun Valley Series, Book 4) by Kellie Coates Gilbert has one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever read. The Sun Valley series are a story of love. The love of sisters. The first book of the series has a title that should tell us that, Sisters. In the afterwards of each Ms. Gilbert has a supporting character break the fourth wall and tell us where some of the ideas came from and other books of Kellies to be read. In Promises Miss Trudy says that the wedding had brought her to tears. I was still crying about the beauty of that wedding as I read that afterword, I’m crying now.
This book has 3 close sisters. A close family unit with struggles families deal with. It is a well developed book, with believable characters. A few twists and turns but it is one of those books that keep you going. It is hard to put down. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it, you will love the war the family works together.
Never give up hope when true love is involved. I loved this series can't wait for the Napa Valley series. You will love these three sisters. Changes in this book I never saw coming. It is well written and a must read. Believe in romance then you will love Clint and Joie story.
