I’ve always loved to read, and some of my earliest childhood memories are me, tucked away in my room, lost in a good book. I received a five dollar allowance each week, and I always — always — spent it on books. My love affair with writing started early, but it mostly involved journaling and writing silly poems. Several years ago, I didn’t have a book to read so I decided on a whim to write my own story, something I’d like to read. It turned out to be harder than I thought, but from that point on I was hooked. My first and second books were released by Sarah Book Publishing: This Is Not About Love and Grayson’s Ridge. I’m a total genre-hopper. Basically, I like to write what I like to read: a little bit of everything! I reside in Floyds Knobs, Indiana with my husband, three children, and massive collection of books. I have a degree in psychology and worked as a counselor.

Reading the premise for this book I was thrilled to get started! Hoping I would have yet another diabolical, dark thriller to keep me up burning the midnight oil! Some of these new thrillers with ties to social media can be absolutely terrifying! (Maybe, because the potential for trouble seems so very real).
Camilla Brown has purposely distanced herself away from family and friends following the death of her husband. Everyone blames her. Ouch! Rarely showing herself in public, her life revolves around her old high school acquaintance Valerie Hutchens, who exposes her own personal life on-line as an influencer. And now for Camilla, it’s a compulsion...an absolute obsession to follow Valerie’s every online move.
As Camilla tunes in one night to see Valerie's broadcast her latest escapades, she suddenly sees a different side of Valerie emerge.
One of a terrified woman....who informs her followers she believes she’s being stalked. And Camilla can see a shadow in the background of the video feed! Again, what an interesting plot-line.
Unfortunately, at this point the book was too unbelievable for me to follow along and enjoy. I found the characters completely unlikable. The ending? Well I’ll just say it didn’t work (for me).
There are some positive reviews out there for this book so perhaps I just wasn’t the right reader for this book.
A buddy read with Susanne that left us both disappointed.

After hearing of this book from a fellow blogger ( Dita take a bow) I thought what the hell I don't have enough cray cray in my life. This book is a cup full of cray and then some. Dark, twisted, weird.
What happens when you spend too much time on social media and not enough time interacting with humans? Hmm well perhaps we should take a look. Camilla Brown has not had an easy year. She is coping with a horrific car accident that claimed her husband's life and left her with some serious injuries- inside and out. Throw in dealing with addictions, little family support and lack of self esteem. She turns to the almighty internet and allows her life to be lived through the lives of others.
Camilla's main person she likes to stalk, I mean follow, is a classmate from high school named Valerie. Her and Val are BFF's (even though Valerie doesn't know it). As Camilla becomes more and more immersed in Val's life she watches Val disappear after a worrisome live feed. Was Val abducted? This may indeed push Camilla over the edge.
Holy talking decapitated heads- this is one fast, crazy read. I enjoyed taking this crazy train along with Camilla and seeing what she would do next. I can't say much more as it is just too hard to explain. Plus I don't want to spoil it for you!

Chock Full o’ Nuts and Then Some!
Badly scarred after a car accident that killed her husband, Camilla Brown has been hiding out in her apartment for months. Nothing will make her step foot out the door, till a plea for help raises the alarm.
Valerie is an Instagram Influencer. Nary a moment goes by without her posting about her life, which is stalked by everyone, including former classmate Camilla. When Camilla strikes up a friendship by dm, who is Valerie to say no, especially when it’s clear that her life is danger, forcing Camilla out into the open to help a friend in need.
Can I just call “Like, Follow, Kill” what it is and say that it’s whack a doodle? Far-fetched and completely Cray-Cray! It’s enough to make your head spin like that of Linda Blair in the Exorcist. If you like far-fetched, this might be right up your alley.
I will say that it sure made for some interesting emoji-filled texting between Kaceey and I!

The two things that annoy me most in books are dumb reasons for not calling the cops, and non-sensical plot twists trying to "out-thrill" the last one. Like, Follow, Kill checks both of these off.
Despite some flaws, I actually found this book quite enjoyable until the last 15% where you discover what really happened to Valerie, and then the author takes us on a plot-twist rollercoaster where things are just getting thrown at you. That's where LFK got downgraded from "pretty enjoyable" to just "okay."
There's some disconnect with the main part of the book and the ending— instead of letting the book come to its natural conclusion, I feel like multiple, forced plot-twists were added just to shock readers and get that "I couldn't guess what happened next!" reaction. Of course we can't guess what happens next— the ending goes against everything we thought we knew about Camilla, and it'd make very little sense in the real-world even with more sinister people.
All that said, it was actually very readable and I finished it within a few hours last night. If you like super twisty novels, this one might be for you! Please don't let my review dissuade you— if you like the synopsis, give it a try. It seems like type of novel other readers will rave over, so I'm expecting to see plenty of super good reviews come in.

What did I just read? That was nuts. It takes a while to get used to the writing style which is all over the place, just like the main characters brain. It is a really quick, fast paced read and will have you sucked in pretty quickly. As the story continues it does start to get a bit over the top and unbelievable which is where it lost me. It was a great plot, but I was hoping for more.
Camilla Brown has locked herself away from the world after the death of her husband in a car crash where she survived but is badly scarred - both inside and out. She spends her time obsessing over people online, in particular a girl she went to school with Valerie. Valerie has a high flying life, travelling around and posting videos from her trips. Camilla starts to notice a man in all of her videos and begins to think she has a stalker. And then Valerie goes missing.

First things first...this is one whacked out piece of literature.
But it's fun...soooo much fun.
I've thought about this, and I don't want to give anything away...so I'm just going to suggest giving this book a shot. It's well worth your time, and compulsively readable. Had the final 10% of the book been a bit more believable, I would have given this 4 stars.

After loving My Sister Is Missing, I was extremely excited to read the newest book from Carissa. She sent me a signed copy of Like Follow Kill in exchange for my honest review.
I want to preface my review by saying this has one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen on a book. This cover is fascinating, yet gives you a sinister kinda vibe with a creepy feeling with chills up and down your spine.
This book was amazing. I love Carissa's writing. She writes fantastic thrillers with twists and turns that will knock you flat on your ass. I had goosebumps reading this book. Coming in at 249 pages this was a fast paced thrill ride that I could not put down. What an amazing ending that tied this book together so well.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a fast paced book that will have you begging for more!!!!! This gives you goosebumps and will raise the hairs on the back of your neck making you wonder what will happen next.

hmmm. . .I've been trying to decide what didn't work for me on this one. I liked the dark beginning (that first chapter!) and the idea of a darker story. The car wreck and the small town blaming Camilla for her husband's death and her struggle to stay sober was a good start as we learn of Camilla's recovery and her new life now, without her husband.
I think there could have been more with Valerie. About how easy it is to follow someone who is broadcasting their location every few days, giving daily videos and check ins. I liked the sinister feel of the broadcasts when there were shadows in the dark and seedy hotels. I also liked how Camilla found solace at someone else's life, watching from a distance but feeling the connection with the outside world.
But somewhere along the way, this story lost me. The first few chapters were a different feel and a different tone. I flipped back more than once to make sure it didn't say a different charact or POV. I think I wanted more build up. I didn't love the ending but I like that it stayed with the darker theme. Wish I'd loved this one.

CW: alcoholism, car crash, death of a spouse, murder
I wasn't sure what to make of this. All the characters (except Lincoln and Hannah, in my opinion) were really unlikable. I went back and forth on a few theories in my head as to what was going on and still didn't guess the outcome, which was weird in my opinion, but having read about her behaviour and such through the book, was something Valerie would do.
I thought both Camilla and Valerie were both really unlikeable characters and I was uncomfortable at times with how obsessed Camilla was with finding Valerie even though they were not even friends. Having said that, when it came to the twist of Valerie of setting the whole thing up to find out who actually would follow her when she was supposedly in danger was a twist I didn't expect, however it helped to expose just self absorbed Valerie is.
I enjoyed parts of the story, just not all of it. However I would still something by the author and I loved the way she wrote the story and the unlikeable characters.

As readers will know that I have read to date every single book by Carissa Ann Lynch. I am a big fan of her mystery novels. So when I saw on Netgalley that she had a new one out, I knew instantly that I wanted to read it and the fact that lately I have been on a mystery buzz in between my other books just to break up the feeling of reading the same trope. Another reason I was excited about this book is that it uses social media which is one of my favorite tropes in books - the use of Social Media apps. In Like, Follow, Kill we meet Camilla who has been slightly agoraphobic ever since the car accident that took the life of her husband Chris and left her badly scarred and injured. To pass the time, she follows an ex-classmate of her's Instagram page Violet who seems to have it all with her amazing job as a pharmaceutical rep which allows her to travel all over the country, her clothes and her looks. One evening though things start to get a bit strange on her page as she posts a video at 2 am saying she feels someone is stalking her, then disappears then a few days later a call for help comes to Camille's inbox. Camille believing Violet is in danger leaves and takes her husband's ashes on a road trip as they had always planned too. As the novel goes along, we can discover of course that Violet's life wasn't all that it is cracked up to be and Chris - Camille's husband wasn't the Mr. Nice guy everyone thought he was in their small towns. Like, Follow, Kill shows readers the dark side of social media where you never know who you are talking to behind the screen and how we can all live a facade online and appear to be living in this perfect little world which makes other's envious. Like, Follow, Kill was another good mystery by Carissa Ann Lynch that readers will enjoy especially if you love the social media angle.

After Camilla’s accident, she secluded herself, blaming herself for killing her fiancé. To pass the days, she stays on social media, living vicariously through a girl she had met in middle school named Valerie. When Valerie’s social media posts take a dark turn, Camilla sets out on an ill-fated trip to rescue her. However, Camilla has more reasons than one for wanting to seek out Valerie.
There was not a single bad thing to say about this book.
While at first Camilla is a character who I strongly emphasize for, it becomes quite clear that she’s not the broken person she appears to be. There is fire in her yet, one that will destroy everything given the chance. The unreliable narrator of Camilla made the story all the more compelling, and the twist ending left me staring dumbfounded at my kindle.
Probably the best psychological read I’ve encountered all year. Highly recommend!

Like, Follow, Kill by Carissa Ann Lynch lured me in immediately and did not disappoint. This is a fast-paced read that I devoured in a single sitting. I simply could not put it down. Full of twists and turns, this one delivers in spades.
Camilla Brown has lost her husband in a car accident that has also left her badly disfigured. Holed up in her apartment, and withdrawn from the outside world, Camilla fills her days by following the online presence of an old school friend. When she witnesses something alarming in a video post, Camilla is quick to do all she can to ensure her friend's wellbeing. I will say no more, only that this novel is aptly titled, and will have you reading into the night.

Camilla Brown's scars run deep,both mentally and physically. She was badly scarred in a accident that resulted in the death of her husband,Chris. She is a virtual recluse,who is addicted to drink and pills and whose only friendships are the people whose picture perfect lives she follows on-line.
One person she especially loves following is a girl who used to go to her school. Camilla is obsessed with Valerie Hutchen`s posts,her sickening joy for life and her horribly beautiful face. But then Camilla spots something shocking in one of Valerie`s posts - a man's face staring through Valerie`s window,a man who looks uncannily like Camilla`s dead husband.
And then Valerie goes missing
Camilla was a deeply flawed character who was quite often not very likeable and as the story unfolded I was never sure how reliable and trustworthy her narratives were. Through her own choice,she was a very lonely,isolated character who despite having a sister who worried about her was only interested in stalking ooops,i mean following Valerie. No one likes to feel lonely but I don't think many people who are in their right minds would travel hundreds of miles just because someone they once,vaguely knew asks for their help. Not when you stop and consider how many people hide behind their on-line personas and are not who they appear to be. There was not a very big cast of characters scattered throughout this story and most of them werent very likeable or trustworthy.
Most of the action occurs towards the end of the book but that doesn't mean that the earlier parts of the story don't hold the readers attention. There was loads of twists and turns,intrigue and the story kept you guessing and wanting to know what had happened to Valerie. This is a very enjoyable,well written thriller and the second book that I have read by this very talented author. I look forward to reading more of her gripping stories in the future.

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my GOOOOOODDDDDDDDDD.
I do NOT have the words to describe how I'm feeling about this book. Holy. Fuck.
After the horrific car accident that killed her husband, Camilla doesn't leave her home. Her only interactions with other human beings are when her sister messages her and when she looks through --stalks-- her former high school acquaintance, Valerie, on Instagram. But one night, Valerie posts a cryptic video seemingly in danger. And Camilla is the only one who can help her.
After three days of reading this book, I had to put it down cause life got in the way but trust me if I had the chance I would've read it in one sitting, I've finished reading it at 3:00 am and now I don't know what to do. So, I'm gonna try to put this into words.
I loved the writing style! Simple, yet striking and addictive. I didn't have to reread the same paragraph three times to understand what it said. The words are easy to follow and receive, while at the same time, they create clear and intrusive images that stuck with me even when I wasn't reading.
I'm a sucker for unreliable narrators, and this one didn't disappoint. I mean, someone dealing with personal trauma and coping with alcohol? I didn't know what was real and what was unreliable. I loved it. That, combined with not knowing what characters to actually trust? Yes, please!
And the ending... I swear the last 10% had me screaming, well whispering cause again 3:00 am, "wait what?" and "oh my god" every two pages. No freaking Joke.
Amazing psychological thriller that makes me think twice about my followers and the people I follow. Insane. I love it!

After three days of reading this book, I had to put it down cause life got in the way but trust me if I had the chance I would've read it in one sitting, I've finished reading it at 3:00 am and now I don't know what to do. So, I'm gonna try to put this into words.

Disturbing, chilling, and featuring a damaged, obsessed heroine, LIKE, FOLLOW, KILL delves into the darkest side of social media and its influence on vulnerable people. It was hard to step away from this fast-paced read because I was desperate to uncover all of the twists and turns, which lead to a shocking ending. A very compelling suspense. I received an advanced reader copy.

I thought this book was going to be great when it first started. Inwas really enjoying it. Then the ending just fell flat, it was done very quickly and didn't live up to the hype of the rest. I expected something nitty gritty but it just fell flat.

I must admit that when i first started reading this book, i had my doubts as to whether i was going to enjoy. Mainly because i don't normally like stories that are told in the first person. Turned out to be a very enjoyable read, with plenty of twists and turns. I hope to read more books by this author.

I did enjoy this book. The main character, Camilla, was in a car accident with her husband. He dies. She lives and has had 10 surgeries and still has scars - some facial, at that. Camilla had been drunk driving at the time and feels awful and raw about losing her husband. She has become a bit of a hermit - except for visits from her sister, Hannah, and doctor visits.
Camille is so lonely that she has become obsessed with a high school friend's (Valerie's) ongoing internet pics and stories. Actually, the two were never really close friends. I have the feeling that not only was Camille envious of Valerie - she wanted to BE Valerie.
Valerie goes missing and that is where the "fun" begins.
An interesting story about a lonely, scarred woman who had not felt able to go out much. Yet, she is plummeted into what could be a downward spiral...

I practically read this book in one sitting and mainly because I just couldn’t put it down, I needed to know just what the hell was real and what wasn’t but mainly I needed to know how it was all going to end as my goodness it was such a weird and twisted story !!
It’s the kind of book that creeps into your head and just won’t let go and very hard to describe and don’t you just love that kind of read. So as I read the last few pages I had a big satisfied smile on my face as yep this was a real good read with a real shock of an ending.

I think if I was to sum up this book in one word it would be weird. At the same time it was really compelling. I knew things weren't what they seemed and that the end would be unexpected. Unfortunately I found the end to be a real anticlimax and was left disappointed. I have read this author's work before and enjoyed it so this book hasn't put me off trying her again but if this had been my first experience of her writing I wouldn't bother with her again.

What a great thrill and suspense it was to read. What a great psychological thrill! This novel had everything in it. The thrill, the suspense, the psychological, and the twist is crazy. This novel will keep you thinking and guessing. When you think you right, well let me just say that you might be wrong. This had me all over the place. My heart beating so fast! I couldn't believe what I was reading. If had me in shock. Every page, every chapter was a page turner. I couldn't believe my eyes what I was reading. I highly recommend everybody get this book and read it. It will surprise you in every way.
The storyline was very good!
The theme and setting was well put together. The characters was well put together in the story.
This story will have in a rollercoaster with all the spooky and secrets. Was so well put in the story.

This was a crazy thrill ride of a book! I find books related to social media quite interesting. Camilla is deeply scarred both physically and mentally following a wreck she caused that killed her husband Chris. Camilla rarely leaves her tiny apartment and is always drinking and abusing her prescribed medication. She's your classic unreliable narrator. She's a bit obsessed with watching the instagram feed of Valerie Hutchins, a girl she barely knew from middle school and high school days. Valerie was everything that Camilla was not yet wanted to be. One day Valerie posts that she thinks she may have a stalker and then her posts suddenly stop. Camilla gets a message from Valerie that she needs her help. What follows is Camilla going on a road trip desperate to find and help Valerie who she barely knows. The ending I would never have guessed. I really enjoyed this book a lot - it was well written and quite suspenseful and was a fast and easy read. This story was crazy and a little too far fetched at times but I completely devoured it. Told by a really unreliable narrator Camilla who has been badly affected by a serious accident a year previous. Camilla is a little disturbed and crazy, but she’s lovable and honest and suffering. There were parts in this I gasped and held my breath. It was hugely suspenseful. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. The tag line got this book is spot on ‘Trust no one’.

From the prologue until the very last page, Carissa Ann Lynch kept me glued to the pages. Her writing style, imagery, and original flow of words was utterly captivating. The narrative is unique and full of that eerie, understated motive books of this genre need. Absolutely one of the top reads of 2019. 5 stars!!

Like, Follow, Kill is a dark and twisted read. From beginning to end, I was captivated and needed to know what would happen next. I did not put this down once! Who needs sleep? The story is chilling and at times disturbing. LOVED it! Totally my kind of read. These characters are well written and helped give life to the story. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be my last. I give this 5 stars.
