ei oleks lugenud, kui see poleks üks neist vähestest raamatutest, mille osas mulle on riiklikul tasandil lubatud, et ma saan oma keeleoskusega sellest aru. ja selles mõttes kindlasti töötab, et lisab motivatsiooni keel paremini selgeks õppida, et saaks... paremaid ja huvitavamaid raamatuid lugeda.

kusjuures see on Sylfaen-taseme Amdani raamatutest kõige kiidetum. või vähemalt kõik ütlevad, et kui ülejäänud tunduvad jamad, siis proovi seda, see on okei.

ja eks ta tegelikult ongi... okei. lihtsalt tegu on sellise lihtsakoelise Bridget Jonesi paroodiaga - päevikut peab Blodwen Jones, kes elab kuskil Põhja-Walesis, töötab raamatukoguhoidjana ja on armunud oma kõmri keele õpetajasse. ja siis (spoiler) järgemööda veel paari mehesse. joob natuke liiga palju ja muretseb oma kehakaalu pärast. kuna ta elab ikkagi 21. sajandil, siis küpsetab ise leiba ja püüab kitse pidada. kass on tal ka.

nii vaadata, ei pruugikski väga hull raamat olla, aga omg, kus see proua käis mulle närvidele.

anyway, lisaks sellele, et peaks ikkagi püüdma jõuda natuke sofistikeerituma kirjanduseni, pani see teos mind mõtlema, et... ta on vormistatud päevikuna (mida Blodwenil muide soovitab pidada õpetaja, keele harjutamise eesmärgil) ja see on kõik kirja pandud mulle arusaadava sõnavaraga; mis tähendab, et teoreetiliselt võiks ka mina olla võimeline kõmri keeles päevikut pidama. mitte väga huvitavat, aga lihtsalt nii põhimõtteliselt. ja see võiks ju olla väärt katsetamist.

Mae'n ddiflas iawn. | The problem with learner's books is that there aren't enough to only read the type of books that interest you, you have to take what you can get. This is not a book I would have enjoyed in any language, I didn't find it humorous, Blodwen annoyed me intensely, and "chick lit" in general is one of my least favorite genres. I would rather never read again than read Bridget Jones, for example. I would rate this two stars as a result, but that's not fair to the author, the writing is perfectly serviceable and there are certainly learners who don't hate this type of book and don't need the average rating dragged down.

I couldn’t wait to get started with these books, as coming to an end with Cwrs Sylfaen, I always jump at the chance to improve my reading in Welsh. And as I love reading in English, I’m keen to transfer this over to Welsh and read all the Welsh books.

This one was another fab addition to the series for Welsh learners and introduces a tonne of new vocab (as always, handily at the bottom of each page and all alphabetically at the back). I can’t wait to keep getting faster and graduate into Canolradd.
