She died a hero. She has been remade to do it for a living.
Venda was having a nice lunch with a friend when her life took a wrong turn. She and her friend were held hostage and when the payoff didn’t arrive in time, she put herself between her friend and harm. Dying wasn’t pleasant but waking up in a mainframe took some getting used to.
Venda uses her connection to the data stream to learn how she died and who was responsible. Once that little task was accomplished, she set out to gain revenge on the ones who had killed her in such a vile and public manner.
Her little revenge adventures gain attention and soon there are members of the cluster hero teams standing in front of her mainframe, asking if she would like a pardon in exchange for a little light espionage. How can she resist?
She can have a body again, if she joins Team Eight.
Good read. A little jumpy around the middle so it made it somewhat difficult to get the pace of the book. It did have interesting twists in it. The character development was unique with actions demonstrating and reflecting their person versus internal monologue. It was a good read and setup the series well.
A very short read. It was enjoyable, but there was very little story. The story essentially has 4 steps: 1. Before 2. Rebirth 3. Revenge 4. Purpose But it's missing a 5 and 6: 5. Adventure 6. Resolution You basically created Ultron but with a decent human piloting it. Why cut off the story just when the main character is accepted into the Avengers!!?
Venda Mills is killed by terrorists trying to use her pregnant best friend as a bargaining chip for advanced technology. There's father is a brilliant scientist. Dr Hammor has a hobby, that may not of saved Venda's life but did save her brain. All that Venda was is now stored in a computer. She has learned to take over mechanical devices and has been getting her revenge. What she has been doing hasn't gone unnoticed. Investigator Jianik has come to recruit Venda for the Teams. First they need to build her a body and a portable brain. Good start to an interesting new super hero series. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. A suspenseful science fiction tale featuring death, rebirth and retribution. I definitely plan to keep getting the books in this series as they become available from Amazon. Many thanks for the quality time reading this e-mail book entailed, Ms. Grace!
I had a hard time finishing this book. Too many hard stops with little flow. It was when the word soul came into the book, that I knew this was stupid. And. In the beginning of the book it doesn't give you any idea of the time, place or history. It just jumps in. The technology was juvenile. All in all, it was flat.
I actually looked at some of the reviews, for those of you who have read this author before and complained that it is not what you expecting, I say look at what you got - a short SF story with an interesting premise. I recommend the book of you are willing to pay for it.
Another wonderful book from my favorite author. Venda is a great heroine and I look forward to seeing how the rest of Team Eight make the team. A fun read.
A new book in a new series, what fun. Whether she is writing as Viola Grace or Zenina Masters, this author created new world and ideas to keep you reading!
This is a very interesting beginning to a new series. The book is very short, but it is very enjoyable. I love catching the beginnings of new characters and seeing them grow. I look forward to more in this series.
At first the flavor tasted like Raiders and Resicor, but soon evolved into Heinlein's intelligent computer only mo bettah. I look forward to more teamwork.
Wonderful! Can’t wait for the rest! So fun and rich with detail. Powerful character building and background also. I may have to get more my this author.
