These are kind of meddling together. They are getting far to similar.

Although, I do enjoy them to an extent. I just wont be picking the series back up for a while.

Happy reading,

An action-packed novel in pure Anna Hackett's style! :)

Strong heroine, strong hero, an explosive attraction, odious Kratos, mind-controlled humans, danger all around and you have it!

I love this space-opera-like story! And I'll be looking forward to other books in this series!

Kiss of Eon is book four in the Eon Warriors series by Anna Hackett.

Hackett keeps delivering exciting, entertaining, and spectacular reads. There is always something new to enjoy and keep you coming back and wanting more.

Allie is a human Captain who is desperate to get the Eon Empire to work with Earth in defeating the Kantos.

Brack is second in command on his ship and happy to cooperate, but one thing is certain he doesn’t know how to love.

I liked this couple. It’s a friends to lovers type storyline. They’re banter and comments where a lot of fun. As always there is non-stop action and when things hit the fan, Allie and Brack, work together beautifully. Their relationship is filled with emotional trials, betrayal, and death defying feats.

We continue to get new and interesting worlds to explore. At one point these two end up on a rogue planet. This setting is fun and kind of scary, but entertaining. There are a lot of fun and interesting secondary characters in the story and the bad guys, the Kantos, bug like creatures are a bane in everyones existence’s.

Kiss of Eon was another fantastic read in the Eon Warriors series. I can’t wait to read on.

This author is very good at giving her readers a friend's to lovers story and this book is no exception. Allie is a human Captain desperate to get the might of the Eon empire to work with Earth to defeat the bug like Kantos that are doing their beastly best to invade Earth. Brack is second in command on his ship and whilst he's happy to cooperate with the feisty woman who doesn't know how to ever give up one thing he's certain of and that is the fact that he doesn't know how to love or does he ?
Expect nonstop action with this one and I really did like this couple. Allie is a woman prepared to take risks and poor Brack really doesn't stand a chance. I adore the authors imagination but sadly the things Bracks symbiot can do just don't really make sense. However if like me you can suspend disbelief and go with the flow then you will enjoy this fast paced story and its pretty obvious who is up next but for this reader it's the King of Eon that is a tantalising treat the author keeps dangling.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I believe this one was more romance oriented than action and I love it!
Brack and Allie took an instant dislike for each other from the first meeting itself. It was fun to read their blood thirsty thoughts about each other and their sexy but barb filled banter.
Secondary characters aa usual nicely complimented the story. A prominent decision is taken against their common enemy Kantos. God I hate those bugs and their inventions.
I can’t wait to read the Eon king Gayel’s book. But unfortunately/ fortunately next one is about a grumpy, dangerous warrior woman from earth and a Eon healer.

P.s I always love her pairings! They are so interesting and intriguing.

My review

When two stubborn warriors must work together to fight evil aliens, will they find a common ground.

I am such a sucker for these Eons Warriors and those Terran women who make them fall hard.
And with this fourth installment, Mrs Anna Hackett does not disappoint.
Allie is a successful woman, she conducted her life in order to fulfill her twin brother dreams. Now she is captain, she has no time for an opinionated warrior who think Terrance are no match for them.
But they have a common enemy and in spite of being a headstrong being too, she soon realizes they must work hand in hand.
Plus she can’t deny she is strongly attracted to the one warrior infuriating her at every turn.
Brack is quite a bull-head, but soon he recognizes the value of Allie and accepts she and her crew might be an asset in their war against the Kantos. But will it be enough to let his past issues go?

Mrs Hackett has delivered an other couple of a strong woman and Her complementary mate. There are witty banters, plenty of actions, steamy moments but never her characters shy away from the challenge, emotional or physical.

Kiss of Eon was another great addition to the series. I didn't love this one as much as the previous books but it was good nonetheless. Rather than the trio of sisters from the previous books this time we get their Commander Allie. Tasked with training Eon and Terran (Earth) warriors to help strengthen the alliance between the two races, Allie and Second Commander Brack are forced to work together. Especially when the Kantos (bug like alien enemies) find a way to insert alien bugs into members of each of their crews and set about sabotaging said alliance. The two have to learn to trust and rely on one another. Their misconceptions of one another are put to the test almost immediately and over time the animosity between them turns to passion. Both disbelieve in relationships because of their pasts so their baggage plays a role in their relationship gradually evolving. There is no insta-love here. I enjoyed the pace of the story and it was an extremely quick read. At one point the two end up on a rogue planet and I think the setting the author built there was really fun, original and kind of creepy. I'm looking forward to the next book, these Eon warriors have no idea what's they're in for when it comes to us Earth girls. We may appear tiny and inferior to them-we are anything but that. ;)

Kiss of Eon is the fourth book in the Eon Warriors series and what a ride this Sci Fi romance is. I love that Anna can write any genre and still make a great story for readers to get lost in. I have read a lot of her books and can say I have enjoyed each and every one.

Someone is sabotaging their ships to stop the alliance between Eon and Earth what they find is more than they bargained for. What ensues is an action-packed fun tale.

It was good to re-read this series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

Captain Allie Borden is tasked with working with the Eon warriors to keep the treaty with Earth. She has to work with sexy and arrogant Second Commander Brack Thann-Felis. While fighting for survival against the Kantos these two fall for each other.

I really enjoyed these two. Both of them are kick-ass warriors who won't ever back down. These two started as enemies but that was just hiding their attraction. Their constant bickering in the beginning just built the tension between these two. I know I can always count on Hackett to have kick-ass characters with great chemistry.

“You’re beautiful, strong, a warrior at heart. And mine.”

I really liked Allie because she was resilient, smart, and was haunted by the death of her twin. She is my favorite kind of dangerous heroine. Their relationship was filled with emotional trials, betrayal, and death defying feats. These two really can face anything together. Overall, this was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read Jamie’s book. .

Reader Warning:
- Heroine's twin brother died of suicide (referenced).

I really enjoyed KISS OF EON and I think it's one of the better books in the series. I've always enjoyed Anna Hackett's books which are filled with action, adventure, and definitely some sexy romance. We've seen the technologically elite Eon come to respect the tenacity of the human race and this was the perfect example as Allie and Brack are forced to work together for training exercises. There's a lot of animosity between our hero and heroine at first and this creates some delicious tension while they try to resist their mutual attraction.

I adored Allie and her kick-butt personality; she's tough, smart, and never gives up. I'm all for a powerful heroine and Hackett is my go-to author for this. I also really enjoyed Brack though he's pretty stoic and snobby in the beginning but he always respects Allie. I especially loved how things worked out in the end and the fact that Brack loves Allie for who she is and has no problem letting her take the lead.

If you blend a bit of fated mates with a touch of “Mars needs women” and stir vigorously with the tentacles of rapacious alien bugs you get something like the Eon Warriors series. And in spite of the tentacle stirrer, the mixture makes for a surprisingly delicious space opera-type science fiction romance.

Back in Edge of Eon, the first book in this series, we saw how it all began. Well, sort of.

Really, it all began several decades ago, when the Eon Empire first made contact with Earth. And the Terrans completely screwed the pooch. The Eons are superior in every way, and the humans acted like they were the totally “the shit” and that the Eons should give them everything they wanted just because they said so.

And the Eons, quite rightfully, told them to go away and grow up – and closed the borders of their empire.

But the alien insectoid Kratos have also discovered Earth, and they think it’s a juicy, ripe plum tailor-made for them to chew up and spit out. It’s what they are, and it’s what they do. Whether the Kratos are actually evil or just obeying a species imperative is up to the reader. But Earth doesn’t have the technology to survive repeated Kratos incursions over the long term. They just haven’t advanced enough yet.

Earth wants the Eons to get involved – on their side, of course. Their methods for involving the Eons, as exhibited in the first three books in the series, do make the reader wonder if the powers-that-be on Earth have learned a damn thing. It feels as if the Terran spaceforce succeeds in bringing the Eons onside in spite of themselves.

But succeed they did. Now that the initial overtures have been made and accepted, it’s up to the actual, serving officers and crew of the Eon Warriors and the Terran spaceforce to find a way to work together – after decades of thinking the worst of each other – to take the fight to the Kratos and kick them out of this sector of the galaxy.

Kiss of Eon is the first story where the action has fully shifted from just getting the Eons on board to truly working together. It’s a bit of a rocky start.

Dedicated Sub-Commander Brack Thann-Felis isn’t sure what the Terrans have to bring to the alliance. Not that they aren’t scrappy and determined, but they just haven’t made the necessary advances to be a real partner. Captain Allie Borden is determined to prove exactly what the Terrans bring to the table – and if she can manage to extract the stick that seems to be firmly wedged up Thann-Felis’ ass along the way, so much the better.

Especially since it’s a very, VERY nice ass. Even when he’s being one.

Allie and Brack strike sparks from each other from the first minute they met. Now they have to work together and overcome decades of prejudice on both sides. While the Kratos are doing their level best – or worst – to drive a wedge into their alliance before it can fully unite against them.

Escape Rating A-: For a relatively short book, there is a lot to love in Kiss of Eon – and not just the shape of Brack’s ass. Not that Allie doesn’t find that quite “admirable” all by itself.

Like many of the author’s previous series (Hell Squad, Phoenix Adventures, Treasure Hunter Security) there is both an individual romance and progress towards an overarching story in each entry in the series.

That overarching story is where my initial comments about fated mates and “Mars needs women” come in. The Eons are only able to naturally reproduce with their “fated” mate. The problem is that the Eon Warriors as a group, particularly the ones who become dedicated to their service to the empire, don’t seem to be finding their mates. Artificial insemination seems to have solved that problem – otherwise their people would be dying out.

However, as discovered in Edge of Eon, the Eon Warriors have discovered that humans are not merely prospective mates, but almost perfectly suited to become so. This seems to have more to do with the scrappy, never-say-die, take-no-prisoners attitude rather than anything physical, but it keeps happening, and the Eon Emperor has noted it explicitly. That an excellent reason for the Eons to help the Terrans is in the hopes that more Eon Warriors will find their mates among the Terrans.

It doesn’t seem to be coercive in any way – which keeps this trope from going haywire. It seems like they have to fall in love first – and THEN the mating drive kicks in, rather than the other way around. But it adds an interesting twist to the stories so far.

The Kratos are the “big bad” in this series. A big part of the overall story is the Kratos many, many attempts to conquer Earth, and the allies constant battles to push them away. This feels like the “long-haul” part of the story, and that conquering or subduing the Kratos will end the series. Eventually. Someday. Hopefully not anytime soon.

If the Kratos and the Gizzida (from the author’s Hell Squad series) don’t turn out to be some kind of intergalactic cousins, I’ll eat someone’s hat. They aren’t exactly the same beyond their function in the story, but there is definitely a “family” resemblance!

And then there’s the individual romance of this particular entry. It’s kind of a frenemies-into-lovers story. Brack and Allie aren’t really enemies per se, they just rub each other the wrong way and begin the story resisting a very strong impulse to rub each other the right way.

Brack isn’t sure what the Terrans bring to the table – but then neither are a lot of the Eon Warriors. Allie is well aware of that attitude, and feels the need to prove herself at every turn. Additionally, Allie is the Captain of her ship, a position that she has earned, and has plenty of ego to bring to the table along with that never surrender, never give up Terran attitude.

In addition to their differences, they also come to their romance from a similar point of view in that neither of them believes in love and that both of them have been dedicated to their careers. They both feel that they have plenty to prove on a personal level and that love only gets in the way of what they need to accomplish.

Watching them learn the lesson that loving someone doesn’t make you weak, but makes you strong, is the heart of their romance and makes their journey lovely to see.

Another really good one. Books 2 and 3 were just too repetitive of the first one. But this book brought something different. They’re still fighting the Kantos, but this time we have two warrior captains having to reluctantly join forces.

It was hate at first sight for Allie and Brack. All was a strong and powerful captain of her own ship and Brack was second in command of the famous Eon ship the Desteron. The two were forced to work together in a joint training mission in order to prepare for the Earth/Eon alliance. But they couldn’t fight their attraction to each other and soon started to fall for each other, despite both being so determined love didn’t exist. And of course, they both have to join forces when they get taken by the Kantos.

But Allie and Brack were a fun pair. She wasn’t as obnoxious as some of the other Earth women before her and she was a perfect match for Brack. They had some pretty hilarious fights. We did get a sneak peek of Jamie and Aydin in the next book and I can’t wait for those two as well. We also saw the king finally become interested in why so many of the eon Warriors are mating with earth woman. So I’m also interested to see what happens they discover with that. This has been a fun series, but I’m starting to get back into it again after being a little let down with books 2 and 3.

UPDATE: I purchased the audiobook of KISS of EON, bk 4 on a recent sale. After listening for several hours I was surprised to discover that I actually prefer the book form to the audio, which was narrated by Vivienne Leheny. So about midpoint I switched from the audio back to the book form and completed it. It was both the particular voice Leheny chose for the MMC, and also listening to the FMC’s frequent profanity that bothered me. I guess I skip over the later when I read and I also imagined a much different voice for the MMC. Since this review is for the audiobook, I dropped my rating from my previous 4 to a 3 which is probably more accurate overall.

ORIGINAL POST ~
3.5 Stars (rounded to a 4) for KISS OF EON, bk #4 of a 9 bk series in a Space Opera Romance novel by Anna Hackett.

MY RATING GUIDE: 1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= THIS WAS OKAY; 3.5= I MOSTLY ENJOYED THIS; 4= Yes, I liked this a lot;5= I Loved it, it was great! (I seldom give 5 Stars).

Capt Allie Borden/FMC is Captain of Space Corp’s most advanced experimental (earth) warship, the Divergent, and it’s well trained, finely tuned crew. They have been ordered to partake in a training exercise between the earth ship Divergent and EON’s crew on the warship Desteron lead by 2nd in Commans Brack Thann-Felis.

MMC/Brack Thann-Felis is 2nd in Command of EON’s premier warship the Desteron. He is a seasoned, loyal EON warrior to the core. He expects the training exercises to produce less than promised, to be a minor inconvenience and a waste of time. But he always follows orders and demands the best from his crew. The earth ship will not embarrass them. But before the training exercise even begins, problems arise.

I enjoyed KISS more than the previous book, HEART. Although the sexual aspect popped up rather quickly (again), I felt the developing relationship between the 2 MCs was mostly believable. I enjoyed the action scenes and world development the most, which occurs mainly in the second half. Sometimes I felt certain references to “leggings,” “boxer briefs/boy shorts,” etc weakened the story (pulling me out) but then the struggles in the mud/geyser land, the space battles and fights with the Kantos sucked me back in. Overall I mostly enjoyed KISS OF EON.

The Eon series - the characters, settings, and story arc as imagined by Anna Hackett remind me a bit of the Original Star Trek program, which I loved. The tone is light rather than dark. Both Anna’s male and (usually) female characters are strong, resilient, loyal and brave. Generally, the action moves quickly and I seldom get bored. I have already purchased the next books in the EON WARRIORS series and look forward to the next.

KISS OF EON can be read as a standalone title (with no cliffhanger ending) however an over-reaching story arc was begun in bk#1 which will continue throughout the series, plus book #1 is particularly fun. Readers who enjoy Action-Adventure Space Opera Romance (think Star Trek with added steamy scenes & strong language) but are unfamiliar with Anna Hackett novels may wish to check out the Eon Warriors series.

**READER CAUTIONS - Not recommended to readers who prefer Clean fiction or to YA readers.
VIOLENCE - Yes. Sci-fi action and destruction. Think Star Trek.
PROFANITY - Yes. Strong language is used quite frequently by FMC.
SEXUAL SITUATIONS- Yes. The 2 main characters engage in steamy, on-scene intimacy on a number of occasions beginning around 50%.

As always, as ever, as awesome, as engaging, as action packed, as romantic, as loyal, as HOT, well... you get it! Everything this lady writes is pure magic.

Book 4 in the Eon Warriors series does NOT disappoint. Allie Borden is the kickass Captain of the Divergent who is ordered to play war games with the Eon Empire, so that their species can learn from each other, and their people can learn to work together. Brack Thann-Felis is the arrogant 2nd Commander of the Eon's warship Desteron.

When they come together more than war games begin, but the invading, insectile, Kantos are upping their games too. When the Divergent's and Desteron's previously loyal crew members begin to turn on them the battle is on. But all is fair in love and war games.

Allie and Brack

Eons and Humans are having joint war games. Allie, the human warship Captain and Eon Second Commander Brack are always sniping at each other. There is attraction there but both fight it because neither do relationships.

Of course, as always happens, the Kantos bugs show up and the two are forced to fight together. Mutual respect turns to feelings.

I really enjoyed Allie Borden, she can really kick Kantos ass!

My only regret is that these Eon stories aren’t longer!!

Will Allie and Brack be able to work together and find love?

Kiss of Eon is the fourth book in the Eon Warriors series. Terran Captain Allie and Eon Second Commander Brack have a complicated relationship. They’re required to work together and learn from one another, but they drive each other crazy, or maybe they just want to tear each other’s clothes off. When the Kantos plot against the Eon and Human alliance, will Allie and Brack be able to work together, save the alliance, and find love?

This was such a fast paced book full of imaginative action, dangerous adventure, thrilling passion, and a bond that won’t be denied! Allie and Brack were a pro at trash talking one another when it came to their professional competitions, but that carried over to amazing passion outside of their training. I loved that they both had hurts from their past that lead them to not wanting a relationship, yet neither one could resist the drive of their desire. Allie was so strong and brave and I loved how scrappy she was at times. She didn’t like to lean on others, but also understood how to be a great leader for those around her. Brack was such a good warrior, one full of honor and integrity. He was a natural protector, and I loved how quickly Allie fell under his care. Every time I read a new book by Ms. Hackett, I’m just blown away by her imagination and the fresh horrors that the aliens bring! These bugs are no joke in this book, and I felt like I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation and excitement. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to dig into the next in the series!

4 Eon warrior ⭐️ Hackett is always a quick, fun read and this was no different. It was so short it failed to do any justice to the serious issues it brought up, but managed to cram in loads of action and adventure.

Captain Allie Borden of the Terran (human) ship Divergent and Second Commander Brack of the Eon ship Desteron have been tasked with improving relations between the space armies by playing war games. Too bad they mix like oil and water.

Thankfully, a lot of the background (the war, Eon warriors, Kantos bugs, history, etc) has already been established so the book didn’t need to spend hardly any time on that. Which was good because it was less than 200 pages. And the serious issues it brought up - Allie’s twin brother’s suicide following a failed relationship, her family’s struggles with grief, Brack’s father’s unfaithfulness to his mother and his mother’s pathetic acceptance of it to where it destroys their family, the way Brack believes he too would fail a mate like that, his family’s condescending dislike of all humans…. None of this gets proper screen time and closure (she never even meets his family). Especially crammed between half a dozen major action sequences in such a short period.

Overall it was light and cute, but forgettable.

loving this series

The best part of this series are the action/fight scenes. Their passionate natures are clear from the beginning when Captain Allie Borden meets Second Commander Brack Thann-Felis for the first time. Both are passionately dedicated to their jobs and are scarred by life’s lessons on love and happiness. During a training excursion, they encounter the Kantos and have to fight together for their lives. Despite their attempt to maintain a platonic working relationship, the are overwhelmed with admiration for each other and love their competitive edge. Look out bugs!

I really enjoy these books. They're high action, low to no angst or third act break up. The women are bad ass and the males don't treat women as less.
Each book is a bit similar, but each couple in the book is different.
Allie and Brack are hot-headed and stubborn, and they love to take verbal jabs at each other to ward off their attraction.
Allie is a human captain, and Brack is an Eon second in command.
They are tasked with having both ships team up and work on strategy to help fight against the Kantos.
The books are short and fast, so they're a quick read series, and they can fit in between larger reads

Brack & Allie fight for Love

A book to draw you into the pages and live the trials of Brack (Eon) and Allie (Terran). Initially they rub each other the wrong way as they vie to establish dominance over each other. They learn to play nice as they look for shipmates who are endangering their ships and then they were captured by the enemy Kantos. They escape and make their way back to their ship fighting dangerous situations and finding love along the way.
Another good book to read especially on a rainy winters night.
Looking to the next book.

Kiss of Eon...

Eon Warriors book 4. Captain Allie runs a tight ship and is on orders to train with Eon Warriors. Brack is Second Commander of his ship. As he and Allie battle for the top spot, there is someone trying to sabotage the new relationship between humans and Eon Warriors. This dynamic duo must find the saboteur, stop the sabotage and battle the evil Kantos. As they fight the bad guys (BTW who has brain altering alien things), they fall for each other. Action packed, angsty, dramatic and smexy.

Now that the Traynor sisters have managed to get the Eon warriors to help Earth, it is time for the two groups to learn to work together, and that is now up to Allie Borden (Captain of the Divergent) and Brack Than-Felis, the second commander of the Desteron. Unfortunately, there seems to be a traitor on board... but all is not as it seems!
Another fun, quick read set in a futuristic space-faring future.

Sensational battle of wills

Another breathe taking installment from the Eon warriors. This time we watch Allie and Brack bash their heads together, a fierce attraction grows and both battle against it to tortured by their pasts to want to take that chance. Another confrontation with the Kantos throws them together fighting for there lives and cracks the hard shells they both hide behind.

Anna has created a spectacular world full of action and adrenaline.

I really liked this one! I think this may be the highest I've rated any Anna Hackett book.

This wasn't repetitive, or overly drawn-out. The instalove is whatever. In a book as short as these I can make room for the instalove. Allie and Brack were fucking scorching! I like the running storyline through the series, it makes it more interesting than one-offs in a friend group. I definitely recommend checking this out.

Brack meets his match

I’ve considered Brack ‘Mr. Grumpilicious’ in the previous books in this series. I loved seeing him and Captain Allie Borden dance around each other and their physical attraction to each other while bristling over the other at the same time. A fun and adventurous read with more battles and encounters with the nasty Kantos.

Another Eon warrior meets his match in a Terran woman.
