Really loved this short story. A new twist on a Christmas story. I do hope Alex returns to this land later on to follow up on her new friend. Love the cover design too. I look forward to more short story adventures with Alex :)

Very charming characters!
Very charming characters! Enjoyable read, but sadly I had a problem. It was over much too quickly! Enjoy the adventure!

Tiny little book.
How to rate a book that had so many errors, but was also such a damn good story? J. C. Gilbert can weave a tale. I could feel the cold, I could feel the claustrophobic ambience of the dwarven castle, I withered under the regard of the elves, and I rooted for the Farokin, intimidating as they were.
I adored this story. I will probably pick up the whole series that this came from, but it's an absolute tragedy that this was run through a self-publisher (I'm assuming? I found a Tardigrade House in Canada, but the author is from New Zealand?). There was a certain name that kept bouncing between one spelling and another. It was only one letter off, but in my head, I would pronounce it one way, then another, until I just had to shorten the name in my head so I could move on.
I think this book could have been a seasonal sensation had it been run through a major publisher, or even with just some massive editing.
Still, it was most definitely worth the read. I hope the rest of the series has stricter editing.

This was a very quick and easy read! Although it is a fantasy Christmas story more centered around a "post-dark Christmas world" , it still put me in a good mood for the season! I do have an issue with the amount of typos that were in the story. With it being so short, I don't feel like there should have been as many as I found. BUT it didn't taint the enjoyment the book gave me! I do recommend it as a quick and fun "Christmas" ready!

A tale of travel through books--literally. A dark Christmas story, filled with evil elves, malicious snowmen, and a terrifying Santa. This is not a story you'll want to read to your children on Christmas Eve. If you do, Santa will join the ranks of the clown as a frightening being. While I enjoyed the story, it felt incomplete. It's part of a series of stories. I can only hope that next Christmas, Alex gets the urge to return to this Christmas land to see how the story has progressed.

Pleasantly surprised
When I saw the names of the characters I knew I would enjoy the story. Though I was surprised at how much. The characters are vivid, the story is original. As an adult, I wonder what the story could be for an older audience. But I digress. I'll be reading more by this author.

Quick and easy read. I was searching for a Christmas adventure and I found it. I didn't read the main story, but it wasn't important to know what happened. I really enjoyed it and I now feel like reading all the other books of the series.

J.C. Gilbert has created a very interesting Tale! The Characters created are very interesting both the the Good Guys and Bad Guys.
