Alien Mate

Rate this book
Once they claim you, you become their territory.

I am Anna, a junior officer working under the command of Earth Federation. My job is to patrol the most dangerous regions of the planet. I didn't plan to fall in love with an enemy alien...

First, I lose power to my headset. My emergency lights cut out completely. Darkness surrounds the entire jungle.

And then I hear him. A sharp clicking noise comes from above my head.
He snakes his arms around my body. Hot breath tickles my ear, and a deep growl resonates near my neck. When the syringe hits, I’m done for.

I’m taken and auctioned to the highest bidder. Within minutes, all of my data is erased and systematically expunged. I no longer exist.

No one is coming to save me. And I know what happens to me next…

In darkness, he rises over me like a tidal wave.
I am abducted. I am lost to the world. But he promises to save my life.

I am his mate.

When I started reading this story I realised I have read it before, but as it has been quite awhile I kept going. This is a dark story, with plenty of violence. There is a total disrespect for females of any species on this planet that has been overtaken by the human federation. Escape is the only option. Plenty of action, and I will admit, some of it very far fetched, but it kept me entertained for the second time.

If you're considering reading this, please don't. When I finally finished this, I cried. Not because it was good, but because it was finally over.

For what was supposed to be a quick, sexy romp in outer space, this sure was an absolute fucking slog. I was promised sixty inches of fun and instead I got multiple headaches and all my friends got screenshots with rants attached. Things like:

"How can you contradict yourself in the next paragraph? I'm still on the same page. I haven't forgotten."
"Say seed one more time."
"I'm pretty sure that's not how backflips work."
"That's definitely not how hips work."
"How can you get fisted and not notice?"
"Cavernous vagina!"
"Oh shit, super-aliens now!"
"The transformative power of dick."

Please. Please save yourself. I have never before finished a book and felt like I needed to be compensated for my time.

If you like a good plot, you'll hate this. If you like characters with more depth than an oil slick, you'll hate this. If you like immersive storytelling, you'll hate this. I suffered so you don't have to.

This was more like a pornocheesefest with an insta-love, sci-fi theme and a completely implausible plot, than a steamy sci-fi adventure romance. I'm disappointed because this book could have been so much better. The steam factor was not an issue, but the sequence of events was just too illogical and mind-boggling. Aside from all that, conspiracy theories, trust, survival, hope and love were some of the major undertones in the book. I did appreciate that the 2 main females were strong, and that Ax wasn't as much of an alphahole as he could have been.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

The Syndicate Warrior🐺🍆⛲🔪🔫💪

ADULT XXX Alpha 👽Alien Abduction, Captive Romance and Erotica.
The systematic betrayal of Earth Federation's goal of peace and stability goes on. Nothing has changed, even after a Hundred years of War.

Planet🌎 Kurrak, 2235 AD.
Anna, a junior officer with the Federation is kidnapped by AX, a Syndicate slaver. She sees hundreds of other alien females in their custody and realizes the Federation is losing the battle, especially on this backwater primitive planet.

Ax kills another Alpha slaver to make Anna his. He takes her to a hideout because they are both now accused of treason.

ARC Received from Booksprougot 🌱
I also got this ebook with KU.

I liked the story, but it needed another editing. There were a fair number of sound alike misspellings, from lack of proofreading. Parts of the book were confusing, lacking continuity, the story going in several directions at once. I would characterize parts of the book as discombobulated and chaotic. Some of the XXX scenes could be construed as deviant behavior.👺

DNF - Just had to finally call an end to trying to read this one

So I am just going to say this ................ I could not finish reading this book, even if you gave me a million dollars. Well, okay maybe if you paid me a million but otherwise no way.

I was really surprised by this story and the writing as I have read a number of Penelope Woods books and for the most part found them really enjoyable and liked them. This felt like either someone else had written it or it was an unedited copy of the book. It was rough, jumpy, not a good plot, a lot of trigger situations and it was not romantic nor does it contain any romance at all. So this was not a good book for me and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Meh

This has potential to be a great story but it was rushed. How quickly Clara accepted her situation was not believable. I could see it more if the book was longer and the author developed the characters and situation more.

Anna is a military Earth Federation on a mission to bust up a slave ring on an alien planet when she's caught and enslaved herself. She's bought by Ax, the same alien that caught her.

I tend to like the darker, dirtier but this one is not to my taste. The reason I rate it lower is the dialogue really feels stilted and unnatural. I also found it hard to buy the bond between the two characters - in one chapter she's just been dragged to his home and hates him, as she should because he's downright awful, then it does a time jump of a few weeks and suddenly we see her practically fawning over him and begging for his attention. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't feel right when we can't witness the relationship develop, time jumps cheat the reader when they occur over an important period.

Warning for squeamish readers, there are a couple descriptions of where Anna's eyeball is probed and tweezered and things ripped out of it (with no anaesthetic). Ugh.

Omega-verse rip off

I was very disappointed in this book. I was going to give it a shot. Because sometimes I enjoy books that have bad reviews. However, this book is an exception.

First thing I noticed was the characters seemed a little flat, but I figured the more I to the story, the more they would bloom.

Second thing was the meeting of the future couple. There wasn't much... action. He just slapped some money down and off they went.

Third, was the obvious abuse and triggers.

Fourth, time jumps don't bother me, but it was the after part that got me. There was no romance. It was obvious sex slave training. The couple, if want to call them that, had no love. It was a book that I would call "dark porn with a poor plot".

I could not make it past the bath scene and was really turned off by everything. If the book gets better after that point... then good, but I can't read it any more.

So, if are thinking of purchasing it... beware it may not be for you.

its listed as a dark sci-fi romance...its not dark at all in my opinion but it is sci-fi. there appears to be plot holes the heroine was kidnapped and sold to an alpha 1 page she is wanting desperately to get away and go home and the next page she is madly in love with the alpha with no mention of how this happens...its a very strange story...the parts of the story i think that are meant to make the story dark are faded out completely leaving a big hole. she was kidnapped and wants to go home (the end of 1 chapter) and then she is in love with him (the beginning of the next chapter) that is literally how it is in the book. there is no reference of any kind as to what may have happened to cause this. no flash back scenes or anything. it was an okay story but left me more confused then anything else

No flow

Story is jumpy and disjointed. There are clear timeline labels at first, but they suddenly drop off. It seems like it is still the same scene or maybe later the same day when a character casually mentions weeks or days have passed. Major attitudes and MC moral positions flip faster than a hibachi chef’s spatula. Scenes skip forward to nonsensical places that I think are supposed to be numerous plot twists, but it’s just confusing. Insurmountable odds are thwarted in a blink. I’m not sure why I finished this book. It was just tone of those train wrack kind of situations where you kept looks despite yourself out of sheer disbelief. Author has no understanding of D/s relationships.

Personally I don't know how this one has over a 4 star review. I didn't care for it. Some series Stockholm syndrome going on. Sometimes in these types of books that's not necessarily a bad thing but it just came off all wrong in this one. I didn't like and couldn't connect with either character.

I had to stop readong 70 pages in. This is not depicted as a dark romance... but it really should...
This it the nastiest stockholm syndrom case I have ever read. She has no choice what so ever, other than accepting her situation and being forced to fall in fake love with him. If she doesn't life is going to be hell, more than it already is... it is so disturbing I couldn't take anymore, including all the errors all over the piece of shit.
I would have accepted a Beauty and the Beast situation but it is so much beyond that. So freakin' disturbing!!!

And I have so many questions for this book... and I didn’t even read it to the end...

Chapter 1

Bite into cheek?

What is a shock gun? If this is a made up weapon I need to know what it is and how it works.

Headset? Is she listening to music? Could the author have meant headpiece/earpiece?

Anna's commander Clara sounds like a teenager and not a proff. Military person.

Shock prod? Made up weaponsshould be described.

It's soooo unlikely she doesn't report back to base immediately when she finds the women. So unprofessional... and I can't take it seriously..

(I sniff and suck in my lip.) What? I think you usually say "on my lip"

She hears footsteps behind her, but she does nothing... I thought she was a highly trained officer! So stupid, not even being able to tackle one alien.. then she shouldn't even having been out there in the first place...

Chapter 2

If she's getting stunned by a stun gun and is connected to the other women with metal shackles, then they would be shocked as well. You don’t need a university degree to know that... and... she would pee her pants.. most likely..

They said Anna got the Xygo fever to never being mentioned for a long time. But shouldn't she be really ill? She suddenly says her fever is growing, and that's  it for some time again.

Chapter 4
How can Ax strap her to the bed when its made of hay?

And then she tries to cover her naked body "as much as she could" but she was strapped to the hay bed a few pages ago?

Page 54, "He kisses my neck, loudly, inhaling my scent before pulling away." What the fuck happened to his mask!!! We haven't heard him take it of at any point!!!!!!

Chapter 5

Why is Ax mesmerised by her hazel colored eyes when it is not even her own eyes..

A dark and depraved group are selling females aliens for cash...
Anna is a junior officer working within the Earth Federation where she is currently out patrolling the most dangerous regions of the planet. When she suddenly finds that half of the force that are with her supporting her have been killed and that she has been taken prisoner by only god knows who and for only god knows what.
Ax smelt her as soon as he captured her and knew that the woman was his and his alone and even though he knew that it would be a death sentence he had injected her with a virus it is his only way to ensure that none of the other Alpha’s purchase her. However, the virus is deadly and she has already experienced terrible cruelty in the hands of her captors, been auctioned and sold to a huge alpha known as Ax who explains that he is going to try and cure her of the virus but it will be excruciating and she most likely will not survive.
Then in the time that he holds her in a hole in the ground administering medication, feeding and watering her feelings her and ensuring that she is cared for carefully and with a much honesty as possible. During the time they are together her feelings begin to change and she realises that in fact the Federation is as guilty as the syndicate and that in fact when Anna had believed they were doing good were in fact only perpetrating the cruelty being inflicted on women being captured and sold as slaves and breeding stock.
As anna and Ax become one and she discovers that she is carrying his offspring she knows that she will do anything to keep them both safe and Ax feels exactly the same, Anna is still determined to free the women being held prisoner and to escape the planet and escape to Maryla.
However. as they are all captured by the Syndicate and the Federation who are determined that both of them are going to be made an example of, perhaps their love was not enough? Perhaps she will never see her child born or free all the women held as slaves?
I will not spoil the outcome buy I will express how this book held my attention right to the very asp page…
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This was a good book to read. It was fast-paced enough and had some twists and turns to make it interesting.

Anna is with the Earth military to try to break up a slave ring that is being run on her planet. Unfortunately, she gets caught and is processed to be a slave too. All her special enhancements from the military, her eye, is replaced so they can't track her. When she goes to auction, she sees that she is the only human there, both slave and buyers. When the winning bid, totally outrageous, happens to be the guy who captured her, she doesn't know what to think. She just knows that she has to stay alive and hopefully she can escape or her friend can find her.

Ax is the guy who just so happens to have captured Anna, but there is something about her that drawls him to her. He will do anything and burns all his bridges to be with her. He hides her when she contacts her friend to try to rescue her, they then plan to take down the whole slavering on the planet. It isn't just run by the bad guys, it is controlled by the human Generals who get their pick of the slaves for as long as they want and they wallow in all the money made by the slave rings.

★ Ordered to “Embrace the suck” ★

—>>> Junior Earth Federation Officer Anna Longdale experiences the adventure of her life when she is caught by Syndicate slavers while on a mission and then taken from a slave pageant auction by the original Alpha alien slaver Ax who had caught her in the first place. Unfortunately, she contracts a degenerative disease, and it is up to Ax to save her life as well as condition this rare human female to become his mate. During that time, they slowly form a bond, and their feelings shift to love over the next few weeks. But having witnessed the brutal treatment of fellow alien woman during her capture and then going through it herself as she was selectively processed for the auction, Anna takes the only opportunity she has to stop the travesty of them being sold into slavery and used as stock to breed. And perhaps ends up biting off way more than she reckoned she could chew, because, as they soon discover, the Federation and the Syndicate have much (depraved twists involved) to answer for. Definitely an entertaining read!

Great potential...

This was the first book I've read by this author and though I enjoyed most of it there were parts that dove me bonkers.
First Ax's sexy talk was anything but. I was cringing nearly every time they're having sex and he starts talking. It seemed like a middle school kid saying any an every filthy thing he'd ever heard. It read like cheesy pornos, not cool.
The beginning threw me off because the author kept doing time jumps and when the story continued they were bonding and falling in love. I couldn't believe in this bonding or love because the growth of it was never showed to me. The only time I even believed their relationship, was after they had been taken captive and separated.
I felt a little cheated by the un-ending.

I will try a different title by this author. However, honestly this book was a miss for me, which is sad because it really had great potential.

I lost interest quickly when the storyline became implausable.
by sewsummore

Anna was a soldier on patrol when she was captured and sold as a slave. It was a difficult transition for a human woman to make especially when she was weak and suffering from a virus that causes genetic mutations. The Alien who purchased her cares for her and over time she recovers and accepts him as her master. When she becomes pregnant they decide to seek help in escaping the planet but instead they face much danger from both the human and alien population. This book kept me interested up to a point, then my acceptance of the story failed as I found it impossible to accept implausible possibilites of the storyline. I love to read SciFi romances but when the story becomes unbelievable I loose interest quickly.

I read the description of the book, had doubts, but with a title of "Alien Mate" decided maybe it there was just a rocky path to an amazing HEA. I was wrong.

All of the elements of this story feel like they belong elsewhere: She's in the army and is an officer which is fine but there was so much detail put into it and then it's forgotten. She's been purposely infected by her mate so he can kidnap her but then as he's strapping her down to give her medicine because it'll be painful, he stops to check her gag reflexes and becomes aroused.

At no point did I feel like the main male and female characters liked each other beyond sex. He literally stripped her of her identity to create a live, unquestioning f-buddy and even if she did question it, he still had his way with her.

The plot wasn't enjoyable, it wasn't sexy nor romantic and I not only would I not recommend this book, I'd go out of my way to deter other people from reading it.

I couldn't help but just laugh at this book. It was just so laughably bad. The first chapter had me intrigued the second chapter was a bit rushed and then the third just had whole plot, emotion, and character development jumps to the point I thought there was a printing error. This "badass" army woman goes from trying to stay alive after being kidnapped to literally rolling around on a leash and saying fuck me, sir. It was so laughably incomprehensible and illogical. Who allowed this book to go to press, please, I need to know the editor so they can be black listed. Pacing is horrible and the sex is so fetishized yet tacky I don't think any group of erotica readers could enjoy this even if they tried. I hate tearing books apart and giving low reviews, yet for some reason I keep picking lackluster entries lately. Save yourself an hour of reading and just find another book.

DNF - quit at 40%
So, I don’t know what I was expecting, but it sure wasn’t this crazy garbage. It’s plainly Stockholm syndrome, with some serious abuse, within a 2 week time span. This is not BDSM. This is just down right horrible to read. It was definitely not something I would have picked up had I realized what it was. The blurb gave no indications. For a woman author to write this kind of garbage- what a disservice to women kind. i can’t believe the high ratings this garbage is getting! No, I won’t read more in this series, & not from this author, either.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Steamy, aliens meet Earth women and…Abduction or Payback
I haven’t read all of these yet, but for the ones that I have which are ALIEN BRIDE and ALIEN BREED I can say they are entertaining, steamy and intriguing. Both of these stories took place in 2093 in a world far away from Earth in one and maybe a little too close to home in another. In ALIEN BRIDE Emma meets three alien men who all want her. And in ALIEN BREED there is a social experiment that goes horribly wrong. Can Naomi and Turin make it right or does he get payback?
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and recommend it for readers who enjoy PNR Alien male “finds” Earth female.

I should have listened to the reviews when I was looking at them before I started the book. However, i wanted to give the book a chance because it sounded really good. It was good but it wasn't what I was expecting. The story was rushed, way to fast. The story line was sloppy, and there no romance. Just pure sex. A dom alien and a sub human. I am not big on a dom/sub relationship, but this really wasn't one and I felt like the author tried to put it in there wasn't needed. I feel like it would have been better if the story wasn't rushed, because I did like it, but I didn't love it, like I was expecting to.

This books is very fast paced and full of sci-fi action with sex. Earth invaded another planet. War happens. Sex slavery is a big thing. Anna an earth enforcer gets captured and then taken by Ax. Ax is an alien of basically an extinct race. They bond then they end up fighting for their lives and their love. If you love aliens, action and steamy dirty sex you’ll love this book. For fellow dirty birds it is worth giving a shot to no matter what type of romance you prefer.

The book does start of with some dominant aliens taking control. Anna is one of the two main characters. She is a human on an alien world. Humanity tried to take over the world but only succeeded in making it a hell for the aliens and themselves. Anna will soon have her whole life turned upside down when a military operation goes wrong. The story takes awhile to build her new life as Ax, her alien abductor shows her the truth of her world. Expect fighting and some extreme situations but Ax may surprise you.

I totally loved this book from start to finish. Anna is human female working with the Earth Federation and trying to fight against alien slavery. Ax is a slave trade working for the Syndicate. Ax takes Anna to be sold. This story is action packed, filled with suspense, twists and turns, slavery and much more. A fantastic read and one I definitely recommend.

This was different from many Alien stories but it was a quick read and one where you didn't want to put it down until finished. I rate it a 4 out of 5 as I felt at times it just did not keep me going as I thought it would, but saying that as I commented I did want to get it all read, none of the flicking pages to get the next interesting piece. So all in all, different but enjoyable read.

This is a very dark romance with triggers. He is obsessed with and wants her initially as property, but it changes. This is not an easy read and it jumps past some important information that shows how she changed her mind about him. It is still had action & adventure with twists and turns. An interesting read.

Great addition to the Paranormal Romance genre!

The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world that was created.

The descriptions of the characters and their feelings are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Ax is an alien slave turned rouge. Anna is a junior officer for the Earth Federation, she was kidnapped and sold as slavery, Ax was the highest bidder. It was hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more. It was so worth reading one you do not want to finish.
