Cyril Lincoln Sibusiso Nyembezi (1919–2000) was a South African writer known as a Zulu novelist, poet, scholar, teacher and editor. *Inkinsela yase Mgungundlovu was made into a television series because of the popularity of the novel.
Wow what a book! "Inkinsela yase Mgungundlovu " by Sibusiso Nyembezi was 1st published in 1961 and yet still such a captivating story! Ndebenkulu is so slick and really had the community of Nyanyadu around his little finger! Thank goodness for those who saw right through his lies!! It took me quite a while to read this book because I read other books in between. When I actually focused on the book, I just couldnt put it down. The book is written in isiZulu and I just love that! I really need to read more Zulu novels! Absolutely loved loved loved this book!
I think the book was full of humor, for I laughed a lot..., however it had lot of lessons to be learned by those who think rural people can be scammed just like that. In addition, it showed me that people from the country do need educated youth that will prevent the exploitation of the elderly by people who carry education in a concrete operational stage advocated by Piaget.
I read this book again at the thick of my thesis…then I read it after the fact. What an experience it was. I enjoy the classics and this is one great classic!
