Humanity, with all of its flaws and weaknesses, was something Cailean Phoenix could never understand. Since he was a child, his father taught him he was different. He never fell ill and his wounds would heal in moments – the limitations of his peers never seemed to afflict him. As his body begins to mature, however, Cailean finds himself battling very human emotions. When a budding infatuation with a pretty girl from school draws Cailean closer to humanity, he begins to wonder whether he has more in common with her than his own father . With his first transformation impending, Cailean neglects his father’s advice; which may destroy the one human piece of him which he’s come to love.
Brent Miller has enjoyed writing since childhood. At thirteen, he wrote his first novel, and he was first published at sixteen. With that experience, he was able to appear on the news, speak to groups, and hold multiple book signing events - and he fell in love with the idea of being an author.
Since then, Brent attended college and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. After college, he obtained a black belt in Tang Soo Do and started an Engineering career. Those life experiences, and any set for the future, fuel his writing and bring his stories to life.
